  3. [18:00:07] Aryte Vesperia: Good evening and welcome everyone. Thank you all for joining in. Please be sure to hold your comments and questions until provided the opportunity to speak. [18:00:35] Aryte Vesperia: Statistics Sworn members: 308 Cadets: 9 Applications New: 10 Accepted: 2 Denied: 3 Review: 5 Operations Defensive: 106 Offensive: 20 Allied Assistance: 0 [18:01:07] Aryte Vesperia: Diplomatic events: situations this week have been pretty interesting. Foremost, interactions with 2142 have resumed after the group attempted an assault on Titan earlier in the week. The battle went relatively well, although there were some notable questions regarding some of 2142’s new technology choices. Additionally, the political lines seemed to blur a tad as Ordo forces wound up supporting Osirion briefly against Chaos and Arkreign (not to be confused with Ark). [18:01:16] Aryte Vesperia: Unit reports this evening? [18:01:32] Ethan Schuman raises his hand for Astra. [18:01:57] Aryte Vesperia: Mr. Schuman. [18:02:03] Ethan Schuman: We had a good week since the last meeting. While combat activity was only moderate, training activity has been through the roof, and a lot of that has been thanks to Twitchy's (Incognitus) efforts. I'd like to take a quick second here and commend him publicly for his dedication. You've done a good job, Twitch. Keep up the good work. I'd also like to congratulate all new Astra pilots on passing their training with such exceptional success. Be you human, furry, or half-pint serial killer, we're glad to have you onboard. As mentioned earlier via notice, our staff meetings now occur on Tuesdays. While I'm always available for Astra or Ordo related questions at any time, please feel more than free to message me directly after those meetings if you'd like to know more about what's going on. [18:03:34] Aryte Vesperia: Thank you. [18:03:38] Aryte Vesperia: Mr. Yifu? [18:03:49] Hollowmengitus Yifu: Good evening, Ordo. Terra had a fairly mundane week overall. Trainings were held, kudos to Invictus for being so proactive in that respect. Additionally, Evalidus is still making headway with internal squad development; should you fancy their style of combat, I highly recommend talking to their command. Insidiae has been gobbled up by ArmA II, it seems! However, I'm certain that they'll make up for it next week. Praescius is still running; if you like being the multi-tool in regards to combat, I implore you to look into the squad. That's all for Terra this week, have a wonderful weekend. [18:04:41] Aryte Vesperia: Thank you. Any additional reports? [18:04:43] Radryl Allen raises his mace. [18:05:11] Aryte Vesperia: Mr. Allen. [18:05:19] Radryl Allen: Good evening everyone, this is Adstutia here giving you the news! Terrible way to start, is not it? Anyway, we got a few news here and some comments. As most of you might know, SCI was dead, but we just received some information and looks like they are coming back, and while they rise, ISA fall... yeah, ISA Is dead now. SCI will keep making part of UBC alliance with Meggido. Moving on, I would like to inform that Adstutia is looking for new members as most of our old members gave up or went inactive and it is kind of delaying our work. [18:05:34] Radryl Allen: For those who never heard about Adstutia, here is a quick intro, Adstutia is a group that was found to deal with organizations that do not speak english (mainly the brazilian organizations), our work is to keep our relation with them stable and in case something weird happen, we are the ones who will try to talk to them about it, so we also deal with international diplomacy, this is a group with many functions, we also get information that usually we could not get as they just announce those things on portuguese, if you still have questions you can ask me or Tonet Millar about it. For now we will take off the ranking requirements (on other words, even a Milites could join it.) as we need more people here. [18:06:08] Radryl Allen: And to finish the report.. .TAKE THE PORTUGUESE CLASSES. >:| because we have a lot of portuguese speakers attacking us everyday and translators will NOT work, it would be like trying to translate slangs or english typonese, it simply will not translate, and sometimes the translator can put you in a bad situation. ( We had a problem with it before). So do not be afraid of taking the classes, they are only three and they are pretty fast.). [18:06:15] Radryl Allen: That is all. [18:06:45] Aryte Vesperia: Thank you. Any additional? [18:06:53] DaveyDarkStrider Oh raises hand for tactica [18:07:22] Aryte Vesperia: Mr. Oh. [18:08:57] DaveyDarkStrider Oh: This is really just a quick message, Tactica is still looking for some fresh faces to fill up some of the open reports we have standing, I will also be making several changes to how Tactica works to try and streamline incoming information and to make sure the right people are getting the correct info on groups. As well as that the Tactica wiki is almost ready, we're currently on phase 2 of implementing this system and should hopefully have this ready soon. [18:09:37] DaveyDarkStrider Oh: So if you would like to apply for Tactica, just send me a notecard with a little information about yourself and what skills you can bring, that is all from Tactica. [18:10:04] Aryte Vesperia: Thank you. Final call. [18:10:35] Aryte Vesperia: All righty. Moving on. [18:10:47] Aryte Vesperia: ✠ Updates [18:11:15] Aryte Vesperia: Compliments to the tireless efforts of Munitorum and Mr. Xiao, the HUD update is rounding the bend and nearing completion. As is, the core elements are function and are simply waiting on a texture revision so that grenade types properly display the corresponding selection. With the release of the new HUD, the average trooper will be invested with the ability to utilize a rather potent device—it is a special situation grenade that will be explicitly heavy in authorization. [18:12:12] chris Poitier raises hand [18:12:18] Aryte Vesperia: The destructive capability of said grenade will provide force multiplication, with permissible use restricted only to events in which we are faced with unusual armor types. For example, it will be permitted to be used against heavy-filter armor used by some of our select enemies. This will enable us to face these issues abroad and increase our ability to project deployments are hardened targets. [18:12:35] chris Poitier lowers hand. [18:13:16] Aryte Vesperia: ✠ Contest [18:13:44] Aryte Vesperia: Earlier this week, the finally card selection was announced in the way of another contest. The idea: to post lessons learned for the good of the Ordo. About a dozen people stepped up to participate. You can find the total list of participants and their individual entries here: http://forums.ordoimperialis.com/index.php?/topic/16981-card-contest-part-ii/ [18:15:00] Aryte Vesperia: All of the entries were especially awesome. Picking that “one” single post that stood out was incredibly hard for me, but ultimately I narrowed it down to a couple. After sleeping on the decision, I have to say my final call is Dresden Xaris’ post on faith. His entry reads (excerpt): [18:15:54] Aryte Vesperia: “ . . . the most important, is to have faith in your comrades, sure you may have a minor tiff every now or then, or perhaps they do or say or sound a way you don't like. But hell, they're just as loyal, dependable, and helpful as you want to be. But to pretty much sum this up to those who like to TLDR, I feel the most important lesson I've learned from Ordo is to have faith in others. In the Ordo, you're truly lost if you don't.” [18:17:02] Aryte Vesperia: I would definitely encourage everyone to read all of the entries and Dresden’s in its entirety. Thank you to everyone who entered and thank you Dresden for your comments on the importance of faith. It was an awesome read and really well thought out! [18:17:40] Aryte Vesperia: Next up. [18:17:46] Aryte Vesperia: ✠ Various Selections [18:18:18] Aryte Vesperia: Over the last couple of weeks, multiple departments have had openings and posted the vacancies. Several of these departments have yet to announce selections. Please pardon the delay there, they are working as fast as possible to make the final decisions and get folks enrolled. This includes, but is not limited to the Munitorum and AiR enrollments. [18:19:04] Aryte Vesperia: In the near future, OID selections will also be opening. But I do not want to have floating applications out there until we fill the vacancies in the two aforementioned areas. I will be pushing to see final calls done by the close of this week. Thank you for holding on! [18:20:02] Aryte Vesperia: ✠ Officer Interviews [18:20:57] Aryte Vesperia: Today the new round of officer interviews has started. Over the course of this weekend and the next couple of weekends, all of the OCA packets will be cleared out and the candidates vetted. We are looking to make several new appointments in the near future from this pool and the current queue of passed applications. The majority of openings are coming out of Terra, but there is a potential for an Astra selection. [18:21:57] Aryte Vesperia: As is, the Ordo looks to have no greater than 15% of its membership in command officer roles. This includes Praetorians. We are currently sitting below 10% and may dip a bit lower as personnel are shifted about. As such, we do have some room for new membership in the officer corps. [18:23:02] Aryte Vesperia: Thank you to all of the Tribunus who are and have assisted in the process. Additionally, thank you to the individuals who took the step and put their names out there for potential enrollment into the officer crops. We definitely appreciate your interest and efforts! [18:24:24] Aryte Vesperia: Neeeext up. [18:24:26] Aryte Vesperia: ✠ Looking Ahead: Guard Appointments [18:24:52] Aryte Vesperia: Not to get hopes up just yet, but I do want to note that there is intent to get a round of Guard potentials looked at within the next couple of months. Guard appointments always include a great deal of preparation and examination. Interested parties, as a base line, should always have a spotless CIR record and very limited disciplinary history. [18:25:47] Aryte Vesperia: It is too early to tell when these selections will be held, but I am aware that Praefectus Tretiak is working on ground work for the event. As Praetorian Guard are officers, the Guard does very limited recruitment to ensure it remains within that previously mentioned 15%. As is, however, there is room to grow and selections are increasingly necessary. Individuals interested may be existing officers, so it is certainly acceptable to pursue an OCA packet at any time. You do not have to pick one or the other. [18:27:08] Aryte Vesperia: Next! :) [18:27:57] Aryte Vesperia: ✠ Big News: Titan [18:28:45] Aryte Vesperia: This topic has been one that we have been chewing on for some time now. I have discussed it behind closed doors with various command members and developers. Additionally, I have alluded to it in TS3 more than once. But, I believe it is time that we go ahead and make the official announcement: Titan is going to be rebuilt this summer. [18:30:14] Aryte Vesperia: Sim construction is always a huge task, one that involves a great deal of effort and takes an especially dedicated individual to see it through. We have not made any final selections as to “who” will be handling the job, but per our usual interests in seeing a consistent build process, it will be headed by a single individual whom will have the ability to delegate tasks as they see fit. [18:31:07] Aryte Vesperia: Over the course of our many rebuilds, we have noted a consistent issue with uninvolved parties creating undue stress to the builder(s) via interjecting into the process or contacting them to ask for X or Y idea to be considered. That will not be permitted in this event. Whomever we decide upon to build the new region will be relatively undisclosed. Interruption means setback on time table and creates reprehensible stress for the builder(s). [18:32:43] Aryte Vesperia: What I can tell you is that we are aiming for a sculpt and mesh heavy environment. The goal here is to create a Titan build that will last for 2 to 3 years without interruption or major change. We want to found a strong, state of the art home base, which will draw in visitors and remain a chiefly unique experience for years to come. [18:34:08] Aryte Vesperia: Additionally, I can tell you that the region will feature two key components: a ground level and a sky level area. The ground level will be constructed in the design of a spaceport/space elevator, with either a congested city scape or industrial/military setting. The sky level element will be space station, with the general theme of being a large command grade vessel—think of a regional refueling/coordination station for capital grade fleet. [18:35:19] Aryte Vesperia: The general objective concept is to move away from point capture and toward stages of objectives. This is in no way in stone, but our goal here is to create a region that promotes both large scale and small scale battles. As such, enemies will (on the ground level) be tasked to disabling various defensive measures to gain access to the ability to reach our space station. The ultimate, end-game objective would be to sabotage fuel lines (or something of that quality) to disable the station. [18:36:42] Aryte Vesperia: Now, the idea here is that the ground level objectives would re-gain function over time. As such, group X could attack us, disable objective 1 and then give up. But if group Y attacks shortly thereafter, they can start working on objective 2 right away. This will encourage coordinated assaults on Titan, providing us that all-desired large war feel. On the flip side, it will provide entertainment for the late hours, but give defenders the much needed ability to focus energy on single stages, rather than allowing lone wolfers to exploit our 3 AM defenders. [18:38:23] Aryte Vesperia: Unlike earlier sim projects, we will be approaching this as a commissioned task. As we are aiming for a much higher level of detail and quality, with deadlines for completion . . . it would be entirely unreasonable to ask anyone to do this project simply out of the good of their heart. We will be providing significant compensation to whoever is selected as a thank you for their efforts and huge amounts of time spent. This permits direct dictation of work quality, the time spent, and ensures we receive the level of detail we are aiming for. [18:39:46] Aryte Vesperia: As such, we will be permitting the collection of donation to fund the project. It is rare for the Ordo to do so, but the collection of funds shall permit us to budget for this project far more expediently while providing interested parties to be involved in the construction of a new Titan build. Any individual who opts to donate will be included in the decision making process. Additionally, individuals who do donate will be noted within the build itself—their names will be engraved onto plaques throughout the region as marks of gratitude. Individuals who are especially generous will receive some additional recognition at discretion of the build team and where space allows. Perhaps a personal office or quarters for the duration of the build. [18:40:58] Aryte Vesperia: I do stress that donation is in no way mandatory. The funding will be accumulated over time regardless of how the matter persists. Simply, donations will enable budgeting to go forth more rapidly and get this project underway quickly. There will be a formal announcement and instructions provided in the future when we are ready to collect funding, so please keep your ears out if interested. We are not there quite yet, but it is coming close to the time where we will be ready to go ahead with our plans to start making advances. [18:41:31] Aryte Vesperia: This is an exciting venture, to be sure. I am definitely excited to see where it takes us. [18:41:55] Aryte Vesperia: That said. Thank you all for coming. Sim will be temp locked until we can get Ts3 back online. After which, get dem raids out! Thank you. <3 Dismissed. [18:41:56] Aryte Vesperia snaps his fist to his chest, presenting a brief salute. [18:42:00] Kasumi Quartz salutes, " Ruhm zu dem Imperator" [18:42:01] Digman Randt salutes. [18:42:02] Huttser Ishelwood salutes, "Victory needs no explanation, defeat allows none." [18:42:03] Azimuth Summerwind salutes!
  4. Yesterday I sniped 10+ people, even after our whole raid was destroyed. As the last man standing, I put a round into the engine block of a SUV, set it on fire and blocked the road (from 800m out). The police came back to see what happened (expecting us to be all dead). I sniped the chief of police and three more of his goons before they found me. Today, I was the last man standing again, and wiped out 6 (plus Krow, oops) UN as they tried to resecure the city. One dude saw me just as I put a round in his chest, and called his friend in the bushes "HE IS ON THE ROOF!" Only for his friend to look up to catch a grenade. AND THEN THE SERVER KICKED US ALL. :( Game can be so rewarding or SO INFURIATING.

Operations have carried Ordo through a wide deployment scheme, involving a large amount of organizations. Notably, we had a bit of a political run in with Ark mid-week. In short, after abuses perpetrated against us during assaulting Ombra, the decision was made to share our sentiments with Ark through duplicating the reception we receive by providing them the same experience here on Titan. Needless to say, they did not like that. In other news, relations with 2142 are stabilizing. The “edge” has been taken off after some discussion and letter sharing. It is too early to tell what will become of it, but we are working to unpoliticize our combat with them. [18:03:39] Aryte Vesperia: Unit reports this evening? [18:03:43] BurrWolf Qin Raises his hand for Terra [18:03:48] Aryte Vesperia: Mr. Qin. [18:03:53] BurrWolf Qin: Hello, Ordo! This week was great, lots of raids went out and we slaughtered our foes like the bleating sheep that they are! [18:04:03] BurrWolf Qin: For the Alpha Cohors, we've had a very busy week all around. And are looking for more members the outlook for next week looks great! Get those raids in, guys, we need 'em. [18:04:18] BurrWolf Qin: Trainings are going to be put underway for Evalidus: (New Tonitrus) so look out for those events -- if you're in a Bravo squad, look into getting out there and partaking in the training, it really goes far in showing interest and dedication. [18:04:40] BurrWolf Qin: Praescius and Insidiae has been rocking as well, Keep it up gents.. if you're interested in being in Ron's Jaeger squad, Or one of Afevis's battle-dogs, give either of them a ring. [18:04:51] BurrWolf Qin: For Bravo Cohors: Good job stepping up lately, seen a lot of new faces out there in the balttlefield. Keep up the good work and get your raids in along with your training! ('Specially TP training!) [18:05:01] BurrWolf Qin: That's all for Terra tonight. [18:05:25] Aryte Vesperia: Thank you. Mr. Schuman? [18:05:44] Ethan Schuman: Hooooooolly cow. With all the new recruits, Astra is getting to be as fat as a certain someone (whose name begins with K but we're not allowed to make fun of any more). In the past 48 hours alone, we've picked up three new members, with one coming from Schola, one coming from Terra, and our good friend Kithsuneca coming back from inactivity and transferring over. Their presence add a lot of strength and leadership potential into a roster full of pilots who possess the same. Rei is settling in nicely as the TSCOM XO, and he and Sebris are fully reviewing both flights, sending IMs to people to knock the cobwebs out of the inactive members. Achtai and Xoza are now living together happily, and both have returned to full duties, thankfully in time to assist with the rush of new members. In addition to this, Astra Staff has moved its meeting time to 6PM SLT on Tuesdays, at it is a much more convenient time for all of us. [18:06:39] Ethan Schuman: On one final note, Nikki and I have finally formally decided on a callsign system. When a pilot joins Astra, other members of the group will get to know them. After a certain amount of time, Nikki and I will talk with everyone to get a feel for the individual. Then, she and I will assign them a callsign based upon a few different factors, including names, nicknames, combat performance, and personality quotes. At the next meeting, the pilot's callsign will be announced in the Astra address. [18:07:00] Ethan Schuman: Some callsigns have already been decided upon. The first round will be announced next week. [18:07:18] Ethan Schuman: That's all from Astra this week. [18:08:06] Aryte Vesperia: Thank you. Any additional reports? [18:08:57] Aryte Vesperia: Thank you. Moving right along! [18:09:03] Aryte Vesperia: > General Updates [18:09:25] Aryte Vesperia: Development has been solid over the course of this week, especially in the material realm. It is with a great degree of excitement that I am able to inform everyone both the Tonitrus and the Hades have been released for general unlock. Both weapon platforms are an excellent addition to our armory—especially the latter, which has replaced one of our oldest pieces of gear with a far more accurate and decisive mortar. [18:10:31] Aryte Vesperia: Development has been solid over the course of this week, especially in the material realm. [18:11:17] Aryte Vesperia: (people talking about volley ball distracting me.) [18:11:21] Aryte Vesperia: The Tonitrus has taken its place as an ultra-effective force multiplier, providing a primarily anti-infantry and room clearing weapon that is chiefly unique enough to warrant its own mechanism. Unlike the Adjudicator, it is entirely designed around the function of lobbing grenades. It is a heavy weapon, but one with a great deal of capability and versatility invested in it. Any team looking to put hurt on an area, clear a room (air burst grenades <3), or make maximum effectiveness out of a small number of personnel . . . will value the Tonitrus. [18:12:21] Aryte Vesperia: Further, the HUD update is pending in the near future. Our final obstacle has been overcome with the acquisition of the necessary font to maintain the textures on it. The HUD will be a welcome change to our current model, giving the general soldier a bit more bite and effective tools in situations we’ve been facing. [18:13:22] Aryte Vesperia: Lastly, it is important to note that prices have been revised in the armory. Several weapons have been decreased to reflect their use and to promote purchase. These may not be permanent decreases (esp. in the Tonitrus’s case), so take advantage of them as you can. [18:14:16] Aryte Vesperia: > Combat / Cards [18:14:41] Aryte Vesperia: As a foreword: phenomenal work this week. A strong performance on the battlefield—over 3 a day, pushing close to 4 on average. I was very impressed with the fortitude and diversity of the teams, especially against some very tough targets. Thank you and congratulations to everyone. [18:15:40] Aryte Vesperia: Now, regarding the contest. Results are in and are simply being verified for validity. There are a few people who have doubtlessly obtained a slot, per the sheer gravity of their raid performance. To name a few: Carrious Darbyshire, Kiba Dreamscape, and Marc Gravois. The remaining list will be published by tomorrow’s end. [18:16:53] Aryte Vesperia: To everyone who pulled it off: damn good work! And thank you to everyone who participated. It was a great opportunity to really show what we’re made of. I thank you, again. [18:17:49] Aryte Vesperia: > Battlefield Excellence [18:18:35] Aryte Vesperia: As a reminder, please be sure to expend all of your options when in a raid leadership role. Call for assistance when necessary. If assistance isn’t available, dig in and hold out until that assistance becomes available. Victory is not always simple and sweet. Sometimes you need to find a hole and fight tooth and nail until the back-up arrives. [18:19:07] Aryte Vesperia: Ordo’s combat functions are diverse and have the compliments of many angles. Use them all. They have and will continue to lead us to great amounts of success. [18:20:47] Aryte Vesperia: > Keynote [18:20:59] Aryte Vesperia: For this evening’s keynote, I would like to discuss the importance of remaining objective. Specifically, in the manner of interacting with other Ordo personnel as peers or command staff. [18:22:30] Aryte Vesperia: Foremost, it is important to realize that every individual here suffers from the same natural sense of bounded rationality. Bounded rationality essentially is the idea that as decision makers, humans are incapable of handling the level of information and analyzing necessary to be considered scientifically rational. To be rational, as it stands, is to be capable of systematically make a decision based upon all possible alternatives—in reality, it is improbable that every possible outcome is even capable of being known, let alone understood by the human mind. As such, only a select number of alternatives are consciously present: all of which are based upon an individual’s perspective. In short, every individual develops their own idea of what is truly rational. [18:24:15] Aryte Vesperia: Bounded rationales play a big part in our interaction with one another. Each of us has our own basic perception, which can be easily influenced by notions provided to us by others. This becomes especially important when it is one of a negative value—for example, hearing that X member did Y action. It creates a tendency to label member X with the expected behavior. [18:25:42] Aryte Vesperia: Expecting and labeling an individual as prone to a behavior ensures that, well, the individual’s behavior henceforth will be highly scrutinized and result in an inevitable repeat (or equivalent response for another action). In short, by expecting member X to act in a specific way, individuals treat them in a different manner, creating a self-fulfilling prophecy or cycle of activity. [18:27:25] Aryte Vesperia: To overcome this, it is important that all members, especially command staff, approach every interaction objectively. Take every event case by case, ensuring that all individuals are afforded the benefit of the doubt and the opportunity to demonstrate their intent. To be objective is to be balanced and provide more accurate decision making, based solely upon the evidence provided in the event itself. [18:28:33] Aryte Vesperia: That said. Outstanding work this week. It's been a pleasure. You all have a wonderful evening. Get them raids our and take it to the enemy. Dismissed! 14. [18:02:33] Aryte Vesperia: Good evening and welcome everyone. Thank you all for joining in, especially considering the major family holiday. A lot of folks are out and about because of it. [18:03:06] Aryte Vesperia: Lets get to it. [18:03:08] Aryte Vesperia: Statistics Members: 306 Cadets: 6 Applications New: 7 Accepted: 0 Denied: 1 Review: 6 Operations Defensive: 77 Offensive: 21 Allied Assist: 0 [18:03:40] Aryte Vesperia: Diplomatic notes for this week: discussing the mainstay of our diplomatic interactions during the primary portion of the meeting. However, outside of that topic, there have been no major developments to really underline. This week we have seen a rapid diminution to the “teen grid army” crusade to the point where we have only interacted with Osirion once this week and New Rome a grand total of zero times. That is not to say the fire won’t rekindle, especially on account of Osirion’s new region build. To their credit, it is fairly fun (aside from being a homestead). [18:04:10] Aryte Vesperia: Unit reports for this week? [18:04:16] Azimuth Summerwind raises hand for Astra. [18:05:11] Aryte Vesperia: Mr. Montpark. [18:06:03] Sebris Montpark: This report has been written by Ethan thanks to Azimuth for taking initiative in receiving it! Activity, training, and raid deployment were low this week, and that can be attributed to multiple factors. Achtai is now living with Xoza and the two of them are settling in together, so Reapers is being run by Davey for the time being. Rei is acting as a mentor for Azimuth to turn him into a better leader. I have high hopes for him not only in this regard, but he has been making technical contributions as well. [18:06:42] Sebris Montpark: Now, this next announcement is somewhat large. On Tuesday at 5PM SLT, we're going to have an open Astra meeting. Everyone is allowed and encouraged to attend. Topics for discussion will be whatever you guys want to bring up. It will be a completely open forum, so if there's something you want to get out into the open, then you can raise the issue there. The meeting will be run by Nikki and myself, though other staff members will be there as well. If you cannot make the meeting, write your concerns on a notecard and offline it to me. The format should be: 10APR12 Astra Meeting - <Name>. You can request the topic to be addressed anonymously, just mention so in the notecard. Again, I STRONGLY encourage you to make use of this opportunity to provide feedback, so we can help make Astra better for you guys. [18:07:19] Thriller Dancer: Say 'on' or 'off'to turn me on or off, or 'help' for more commands [18:07:25] Sebris Montpark: That is all from Astra this week. [18:07:29] Hollowmengitus Yifu raises hand for Terra. [18:07:34] Aryte Vesperia: One moment. [18:07:34] Aryte Vesperia: on [18:07:38] Aryte Vesperia: Darn. [18:08:05] Incognitustealthy Resident: off [18:08:09] Hollowmengitus Yifu: Good evening, Ordo. Terra had a below average week this week in terms of activity in-world, but we had astounding activity in ArmA II. While the team building is great in ArmA, we mustn't forget our responsibilities in Second Life. [18:08:10] Kasumi Quartz: on >.> [18:08:32] Hollowmengitus Yifu: Moving right along. Trainings were done this week, inter-squad. Many thanks for doing them! It should also be stated that all squads are currently open to recruitment; as we shuffle out inactive members in preparation for Summer, we're really looking for up-and-coming members to replace vacancies. [18:08:55] Hollowmengitus Yifu: For B command, thatguy would like to have a meeting sometime this week "to go through all of the rosters to make a check off to make sure people are doing what they need to be doing." That's it for Terra this week. [18:09:40] Aryte Vesperia: Thank you. Any additional reports? [18:09:41] Radryl Allen raises his morning star. [18:09:51] Aryte Vesperia: Mr. Allen. [18:10:02] Radryl Allen: Good evening everyone. Not many things happened lately, but I would like to let everyone know that we may be looking for a ADJ to Adstutia yet as nobody filled the spot, and we REALLY need new members as most of our members just got inactive. [18:10:18] Radryl Allen: On other news, I would like to remind everyone that "EB", Exercito Brasileiro, Brazilian Army, Derpland, is NOT a walk in the park anymore, like I pointed out before, they received new gear during the time that they were making part of UBC, on other words, they got tons of explosives, so make sure you get people with a good quantity of weapons if you decide to attack them. Also as some might know, 1331 is already open, it is located on Cyclone, probably Davey will be putting up the LM on the board soon, it is a new place, and well, the objectives are pretty far away from each other, their leader is willing to give me a "tour" at their base to give me the full explanation about the objectives, but well, that is the Imperator's call. [18:10:52] Radryl Allen: That is all. [18:11:13] Aryte Vesperia: Thank you Mr. Allen. Any other reports tonight? [18:11:46] Aryte Vesperia: Thank you. Moving on then! Lots of fun to talk about. [18:12:02] Aryte Vesperia: > General Update [18:12:21] Aryte Vesperia: More news on the Archetype front: the side items for each designation are proceeding along great. I have received the initial pieces to the commissar set and am rather impressed. Although it is fairly improbable I’ll ever be able to mod this to fit my own head, it sure looks awesome in general (haha). [18:13:02] Aryte Vesperia: The total set of items should be hammered out here by the end of the month. Scripting and actual deployment of the Archetypes should not be too far behind it. [18:14:17] Aryte Vesperia: In other news: the Revision Project is starting to round the bend. We are coming rather close to completing all of the stated goals—notably a couple of months behind intended goal, but still making a significant progress. Upon completion, we will definitely sit back and assess our successes to draft a new undertaking to carry our development momentum well in to 2013. [18:14:57] Aryte Vesperia: I do want to note I am preparing announcement of a major project that would be lined up for the summer months, but I shall leave that detail for coming meetings. I am confident it will be a pleasing mention to most! [18:16:06] Aryte Vesperia: > Revision of the CAE [18:16:26] Aryte Vesperia: As posted yesterday: in order to facilitate a more healthy and readily available, active raid leadership queue, the following changes are hereby enacted: - rank permissions based on tiers; - assignment to tiers based upon capability, rather than rank; - rank utilized as a baseline, but exceptions listed publicly with approval levels. [18:17:39] Aryte Vesperia: Currently, raid permissions are based explicitly upon rank. As such, an individual-- no matter how qualified must receive approval for areas above their pay grade. The set up is, right now: • Tier 1: Authority clearance restricted to [i-1]. • Tier 2: Authority clearance restricted to [O-1+]. • Tier 3: Authority clearance restricted to [E-8]. • Tier 4: Authority clearance restricted to [E-5+], with approval by an [O-1]. [18:18:53] Aryte Vesperia: Under the provisions, it shall now be shaped a bit differently. Compulsory permissions shall begin be modified. As now listed under the CAE in the policy section of the forums: [18:19:22] Aryte Vesperia: • Tier 1: Authority to lead assaults against politically charged or unusually difficult targets. Individuals listed below are hereby granted the authorization outside of rank requirement. Compulsory approval restricted to [i-1]. • Tier 2: Authority to lead assaults against potentially challenging targets. Individuals listed below are hereby granted the authorization outside of rank requirement. Compulsory approval restricted to [O-1+]. • Tier 3: Authority to lead assaults against standard targets. Individuals listed below are hereby granted the authorization outside of rank requirement. Compulsory approval restricted to [E-4+]. • Tier 4: Authority to lead assaults to low intensity targets. Individuals listed below are hereby granted the authorization outside of rank requirement. Compulsory approval restricted to [E-3+]. [18:20:31] Aryte Vesperia: Along with the aforementioned, changes are being made to the [E-8] role. Rather than restricting targets to a very exclusive rank, the [E-8] position will be a bit more expanded-- however, focus shall be put upon teaching [E-8] members the skills needed to operate at a Tier 2 (or greater) level. [18:21:35] Aryte Vesperia: As such: particularly qualified individuals will be placed in higher tiers than their rank permits. Additionally, the completion of formal education will be used to weight the tier progression. This will allow us to designate particularly elite NCOs with permission to engage in targets that would otherwise require a great deal of red tape. [18:23:32] Aryte Vesperia: > 2142 [18:24:16] Aryte Vesperia: After careful consideration, I have decided to orchestrate a shift in policy with 2142 back to a standard understanding of hostility. As part of such, I have authored an open letter to the organization detailing our intents. As the letter reads: [18:25:35] Aryte Vesperia: “It would be unnecessary to say our relationship with 2142 has been arduous. The appearance is fairly vivid. Consistently, our organizations have bumped heads and inspired negative interactions. To be frank, it would seem to me that the last era in which 2142 and the Ordo actually “got along” stretches some years ago to a time that Eazy101 Wilber claimed the title of 2142 General. [18:26:57] Aryte Vesperia: The “whys” behind the bad blood are fairly difficult to piece together. Our history of interaction is one that is considerably long. Most recently, the events in which the Ordo responded to matters of espionage by 2142 with firepower really served to underline the level of depravity our relationship has reached. I do not intend to use this writing is to defend our own actions or damn 2142, nor am I particularly interested in either side posturing by supplying apologies for any of our mutual transgressions. I adduce: realistically speaking, apologies look pretty on paper, but often times only go so far. Further, there really is no reason for either of us to seek additional privation of our stances by pretending to care about one another’s “side” of the story. [18:29:13] Aryte Vesperia: However, what the Ordo will offer and will pursue from our side is a clean slate. There is absolutely no reason to believe anything will come of this, but despite my pessimism, it is certainly worth its weight in effort to give it the opportunity. If 2142 wishes to match this effort: great. If not, that is great too. We do not expect concession or special consideration. Simply, we will give it a shot out of respect and interest in continuing the ongoing interaction without a heavy undertone of malice.” [18:30:33] Aryte Vesperia: To be certain, the most efficacious way of dealing with 2142 is on the field. We seek not to apologize (nor will we), nor particularly expect them to posture and apologize for their own part in the dance. There is no doubt that each side is deeply rooted in the belief that the other is the aggressor. I cannot say I do not believe that 2142 is the party responsible for the bad blood. But I do so having grokked the reality they are every bit as certain it is our burden. [18:32:01] Aryte Vesperia: I am neither so daft nor so optimistic that this will turn the page in our relationship with 2142. But I seek to keep the blood flowing on the field, rather than behind closed doors in political squabbles. [18:33:11] Aryte Vesperia: > Keynote [18:33:48] Aryte Vesperia: For today’s keynote, I feel it is important we return to the discussion of combat and the handling of events in combat. Notably, I seek to do so by covering three main topics: military virtue, boldness, and victory. [18:35:25] Aryte Vesperia: Military virtue is distinct in its quality. It is separate from enthusiasm or bravery, but it plays well into either of the aforementioned. It is the endurance, the aptitude—the mettle of an organization; the capability to take to the field a sense of natural instinct of action. It is demonstrated by a force’s ability to maintain its function and professionalism in the most strenuous of moments. It is demonstrated by the individual’s capability to overcome doubts or impulse to maintain a respect for success, to view turmoil or difficulty as a means to victory. [18:37:09] Aryte Vesperia: It is, for all intents, a culture that permeates within the Ordo. A culture we must embrace and expect. An army that has high regard for military virtue is an army that is efficient, orderly, and capable of standing against the fiercest of storms. Military virtue is personified by a desire to seek the spirit of the corps, a desire to overcome hardships in battle, and to weather whatever internal issues may arise. [18:39:18] Aryte Vesperia: In battle, the Ordo should and shall demonstrate its military virtue through the consistent display and use of processes—ART, respect for command, and confidence in each situation. The Ordo should not and will not falter in the face of large forces, individuals pushing our rules, or situations beyond our control. It is our intent and our ability to look at a situation (for example, an attacking force abusing our rules) not as misfortune, but as an opportunity to bear it well to our fortune. That is not to say in the aforementioned that said abuses should go unpunished, but it should be the explicit design of estate teams to deal with said abuses. The soldier. The fighters should be and shall be impervious to transgression or privation by abuses. [18:41:01] Aryte Vesperia: Boldness is the willingness of a body of troops or an individual troop to undertake a task. Among a team, boldness is the cultivation of a capability to make self-sacrifice, to preserve others, and uphold the good of the whole. Boldness is passion. [18:43:13] Aryte Vesperia: There is an important distinction to make: boldness born out of necessity is resolution. Boldness born out of desire and intrinsic confidence to overcome is true boldness. To underscore: if a body of troops is being forced to undertake ART conditions and does so, they are resolute. If a body of troops embraces ART conditions and does so with zeal, they are bold. The former is acceptable, the latter is commendable. Obedience in a military standard is of the greatest importance, but if a concept is embraced and drawn together without need of force or the use of imperium, then it is a quality that underlines the grand capability of an individual or a group. [18:44:30] Aryte Vesperia: Ordo soldiers need to be bold. The Ordo has always functioned on boldness and the perseverance of the individual with the interest of the collective. To be resolute, to be capable of undertaking a task by order or policy is a good foundation. To be bold, to want and desire to undertake a task because it creates greater good for the organization is the excellence we confide within. [18:46:55] Aryte Vesperia: The Ordo seeks not simple victory. Rather, we seek a lasting, eternal since of dominance on all fields. Whether it is ideology or practice, we are focused on the conception of victory as a whole: to ensure a greater loss of hostile physical power, moral powers, and open avowal of relinquishment of intentions by the enemy. Sportsmanship is an allotted norm to those whom seek sportsmanship in kind. Although honor and virtue as our hallmark carries us into every interaction, it is only by total privation of an enemy’s moral force that we are assured their incapability of further resistance. We speak not of “group destruction,” but of our own ability to maintain against all odds. [18:48:20] Aryte Vesperia: We are, and must be, without exception, a force to be reckoned with on all fronts. It is by this that we set such high regard for excellence and ever push toward higher obtainment of mastery. Every individual here plays a part in that obtainment, regardless of their individual skills or time commitment. Every individual is an integral piece to our grand organization. [18:49:21] Aryte Vesperia: In closing. I wish you all a safe and happy Easter. Per the norm, we shall be on stand down standards for the major holiday. As such, please use tonight to get raids out. This is your opportunity to get blood before the break. Tomorrow will be casual dress, but we will still do ART (etc). [18:49:49] Aryte Vesperia: Thank you for being here. It means a lot that you made the time to do so. Our pre-holiday meetings are always light, but as important as any other. [18:49:53] Aryte Vesperia: Dismissed! Hail! [18:49:54] Aryte Vesperia snaps his fist to his chest, presenting a brief salute. [18:49:55] BurrWolf Qin salutes! "For the Glory of the Imperium!"
