  1. [18:03:01] Aryte Vesperia: Good evening and welcome everyone. Thank you all for joining in. Please be sure to hold your comments and questions until you are provided the opportunity to speak. [18:03:48] Aryte Vesperia: Statistics Sworn members: 310 Cadets: 11 Applications New: 8 Accepted: 1 Denied: 4 Review: 3 Operations Defensive: 90 Offensive: 20 Allied Assistance: 0 [18:04:39] Aryte Vesperia: Diplomatic notes: relations with the AN continue to degrade at a rapid rate. Yesterday, AN attempted to hit a sleepy Titan defense with some 20+ attackers (mixed groups). Ultimately, the Ordo’s defense was able to repulse the assault without much of an issue. Under Mr. Ishelwood’s command, a counter attack waded into the AN region . . . ending in about fifteen minutes with the AN banning / closing the sim. Their reasoning? We were “griefing the sim.” All combat forces and leadership elements are advised: this is only going to get worse. Persist and keep the pressure on. [18:05:45] Aryte Vesperia: Unit reports? [18:05:51] Keller Teichmann raises hand for Terra. [18:06:04] Mikeo Amiot raises his hand for the IEA. [18:06:12] Aryte Vesperia: Keller. [18:06:21] Keller Teichmann: Delivering this report, as Hollow wasn't able to make it tonight; (:c) Hello, Ordo. Terra had an ok week. Nothing to exciting. That said, take advantage of this yonder Numerii to get recruited into an Alpha Squad! Trainings are ongoing, with some squads stepping up to the plate. Please, amaze Aryte and I and continue doing more! Training shows that you're interested in making yourself better for the group; a trait that is very well received amongst the trainers and peers alike. Tiered meetings have a date! If you're in the Terra Command brackets, please sign up for a slot. That's all for Terra this week. [18:07:07] Aryte Vesperia: Thank you. [18:07:12] Aryte Vesperia: Mr. Amiot? [18:07:29] Mikeo Amiot: For the Imperial Education Administration: Admittedly a slow week with only 4 Armatura, 1 Ludi and 1 Schola class held. After the IEA meeting held last Tuesday we started working on a few ideas for streamlining classes to be a little less wordy and overall take less time in any written/text based portions. Going to hold these meetings weekly mostly likely to continue working out a format that everyone agrees upon. Need more cadets than instructors right now in all honesty but as always if interested in teaching apply at: http://forums.ordoimperialis.com/index.php?/topic/13701-iea-scholaarmatura-recruitment-application/ or contact Zero Itamae directly. That's all for the IEA this week! [18:07:35] Mikeo Amiot: For the Imperial Education Administration: Admittedly a slow week with only 4 Armatura, 1 Ludi and 1 Schola class held. [18:09:41] Ethan Schuman: Astra activity was mixed this week. It was down from normal in offenses, but our turnout for trainings and defenses and other assorted exercises was much higher than normal. With Achtai extremely busy at her job, we're still looking for a suitable candidate to fill the Reapers XO slot. Be advised that while we'll provide you with ample training and preparation, you'll be hitting the ground running. Aquila activity has been rather good, with Havoc stepping up and showing some real initiative as a leader, so props to him. [18:09:54] Ethan Schuman: I'm going to take a moment to talk about development now. FIRST THING: DO NOT IM ME FOR PHANTOMS DURING THE MEETING OR WHILE I AM WRITING THE REPORT FOR SAID MEETING. I WILL KILL YOUR FAMILY. The CURRENT version of the Phantom is 1.6.1, and if you do not have it, meet up in the radar room near the Mercury bot after the meeting and I will give you one. It is still in beta, and various performance issues still pop up here and there that I haven't be able to isolate, so please help by reporting anything you find. Progress has also begun on the Thanatos replacement, with the project designation of Executioner. The build is progressing along very well, and you can see a version from a few days ago here: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/7146574/bomberthingeryturret.jpg Those turrets are temporary. Design features that will distinguish it from the Thanatos are that while it will still remain a two seat aircraft, full control of all air to ground munitions will be controlled by the pilot, with the gunner focusing on air def [18:09:54] Ethan Schuman: ense with flak turrets. The Thanatos second gunner defense has proven extremely effective on the Thanatos in the past, so that aspect will returning. The traditional standard AGMs as the main weapon are also being replaced by railguns with both AP and AT functionality. The Executioner will also be mounting an OIC APPROVED nuclear weapon of some sort that is still in concept, along with our future frigate. [18:10:05] Ethan Schuman: Finally, Azimuth wants me to tell you all that the Icarus application thread has been moved to here: http://forums.ordoimperialis.com/index.php?/topic/17787-icarus-application-thread/ Also, Icarus has its own subforum now, located in the Astra main forum. [18:10:16] Ethan Schuman: That's all from Astra for this week. [18:11:28] Aryte Vesperia: Thank you kindly. Any additional reports? [18:11:32] Zerowinged Vasiliev raises hand. [18:12:07] Aryte Vesperia: Mr. Vasiliev. [18:12:22] Zerowinged Vasiliev: For Tactica: Pretty lame week in Tactica. Three military edits and that's about it... Tapping the snooze button on this report. If you're interested in joining Tactica, toss a IM to Kyra Vixen or Zerowinged Vasiliev and we will get you handled! :D [18:12:47] Aryte Vesperia: Thank you. Final call? [18:13:23] Aryte Vesperia: Moving on! [18:13:28] Aryte Vesperia: ✠Community [18:13:34] Aryte Vesperia: A comment has been passed around as of late that I would like to address: “what’s up with this summer?” I totally concur. The community is unusually quiet for a summer period. Thankfully, the Ordo continues to fare quite well regardless of overall downturns throughout SL. However, this last month has really been subpar compared to the last few years. [18:14:14] Aryte Vesperia: I really would not read in to it beyond “it is pretty slow, weird.” I know there’s a tendency to start drawing lines and make connections that the community could be dying (etc). Frankly, even if the community was, the Ordo will persist. So, I encourage folks to simply do what we have always done: push on. We have nothing to be concerned about in the grand scheme of things—certainly, raid activity may take a hit on account of target choices, but if things hit the fan, we will be fine. [18:15:14] Aryte Vesperia: There is still a month or so left of the summer. Perhaps the community will rebound before the end? We will see. [18:16:01] Aryte Vesperia: As a side note, I do want to underline that this really stresses the importance of reaching beyond SLMC to build the Ordo. I encourage you as members to pull friends and those who would be potentially interested toward the group—our best opportunity has always been from individuals and groups that are not already SLMC related. Proactive recruitment of acquaintances is also the best way to get people /in/ to the group: vouching is a huge boost to an application. [18:17:17] Aryte Vesperia: If you have any questions about recruitment or how to properly go about it, feel free to send me a message sometime. I would be happy to give pointers. [18:18:04] Aryte Vesperia: ✠Daily Events [18:18:16] Aryte Vesperia: Earlier this week, I initiated a program headed by my person. Rather than simply pushing ART on Sunday, I have expanded my involvement in combat training to include daily events. ART qualifiers will continue for Sunday, however every day around 8:00 PM I shall be hosting training. Further, on Friday evenings, I will host a raid. [18:19:02] Aryte Vesperia: Thus far, the events have been incredibly enjoyable. I look forward to keeping them going—please note that I may lose days here and there on account of schedule, but I will endeavor to do it every single day. I will announce the actual times as soon as possible, but often I will have to simply call them a few minutes prior to starting. Just keep your ears out for activity around 8. [18:20:14] Aryte Vesperia: I have pushed the precedent with my events: combat trainings need purpose. Training is not simply shooting one another. Pick a skill to enhance, focus on it, and build upon it. Currently, we are hitting medicing hard and will continue to do so. Take that and apply it to your own events! [18:21:01] Aryte Vesperia: ✠ Region [18:21:39] Aryte Vesperia: The official word on Titan from Disembodied Hand: [18:22:00] Aryte Vesperia: “I am working diligently on the sim, often late into the night. You may see me offline but chances are its to conserve PC resources because im working on models or doing topology on one or something similar. Im most often in SL when only working on the texture or placement / inspection side of work. Only had a few (family for my and my sons july 5th birthday/family this weekend for that but I plan on working anyway) Most of the reference models and are already done, and a few models are upload-tested and going through textures. I have received help from Scarlet optimizing UV space to upgrade quality, and I am fine-tuning how to lower PE on mesh models (I have the physics simplified to cube, but PE is often still huge on some models. if anyone can help expedite this process and save me troubleshoot time MUCH appreciated). [18:22:51] Aryte Vesperia: Morh and Xoza have offered help for scripting side to keep shit functioning. Both have some info on projects, and will receive offers for features needed. If anyone else would like to contribute, feel free to contact me. I am sure there are projects available for those that would like to help, even if small like 'swap alpha on solid and destroyed barricade at 100HP' or something [18:23:56] Aryte Vesperia: My initial start on sim was delayed to somewhere around the 15th, and im aiming to be done around the 15th, while having a functional ground model in the next few days. Key phrase is functional, not optimal. PE may be obscene on a few items while I figure out how to lower it, textures may be unfinished, and there wont be the capital ship. That will all be fine-tuned throughout the rest of the build process to make sure everything matches up, looks pretty, ect. The reason im aiming to have a functional model is for training and familiarity purposes. Itll be made prettier and more optimal over the days after that then sent down below for combat while the capital ship is being worked on.” [18:24:58] Aryte Vesperia: Also, just going to leave this here: http://cghub.com/files/Image/165001-166000/165060/982_max.jpg [18:25:45] Aryte Vesperia: ✠ Goals: Mandatory vs Desirable Achievement [18:26:35] Aryte Vesperia: There has been a degree of discussion on this topic within the officer staff. I have chewed on this pretty heavily: the separation between mandatory goals and desirable achievement. I have placed an order out among the command personnel to really approach the concept in a positive light: yes, we have goals, but the intent is to encourage success. [18:27:30] Aryte Vesperia: That said, status quo . . . simply, more visible presentation of what status quo is: we provide and will continue to provide a large amount of opportunity to individuals in positions with raid requirements. Those requirements are not there to be punitive. They are there to set a standard. If you miss that standard one week, or maybe even a couple of weeks . . . no sweat. If you are consistently missing that standard, then it is a matter of needing to step back to give someone else the opportunity to participate in that role. [18:28:37] Aryte Vesperia: >:{ [18:28:38] Aryte Vesperia: I want every member to be keen on realizing no one here is intending to force you to raid or force you to train. It is up to you, as an individual, on whether or not you will be successful: you must want to improve in order to improve. No amount of regulation or orders to participate in XYZ will make it happen. [18:29:56] Aryte Vesperia: That said, we will continue to reward those who DO push themselves to be better—to participate in training, raids, etc. Ultimately, Goals are meant to be met, but we understand that life happens: we’ll avoid the word "mandatory" but enforce the expectation when leniency slides beyond reasonable accommodation. [18:30:38] Aryte Vesperia: That said. Thank you all for coming. For forth and pillage. :J See you in an hour! [18:30:40] Aryte Vesperia: Dismissed! Combat interactions have remained solid. On the positive side of matters, the organization Tyr has provided rather entertaining combat with an amicable atmosphere. On the more negative (but entertain-ily positive?) side of matters, interactions with AN have become progressively more volatile. Thus far, our every visit to their region has been marked with Raideur Ng arbitrarily banning Ordo members whilst the remainder of their forces focuses on bombing the spawn hub. Nevertheless, our actions persist and our victories over the AN continue to roll in. [18:01:45] Aryte Vesperia: Unit reports for the evening? [18:01:54] Nikki4 Aquitaine: o/ [18:02:01] Aryte Vesperia: Ms. Aquitaine. [18:02:10] Nikki4 Aquitaine: There are a couple of major things going on in Astra this week. First and foremost, Icarus. Azimuth and Reinhardt are hard at work fleshing out the induction process, expectations etc. and the project is really picking up steam. As a reminder, anyone can apply to join Icarus, so if you want to try your hand at flying a fighter aircraft, sign up here: http://forums.ordoimperialis.com/index.php?/topic/17413-project-icarus-official-signup-sheet/ [18:02:33] Nikki4 Aquitaine: In development news, the long awaited Phantom is now borderline completed. Ethan will be adding a few minor features, prestiege skins and the likes, when he regains electricity at his house. It should be released fairly soon after he returns (or he will face severe torment). It has already been tested in the field against AN with fantastic results, so it should make a fine addition to our arsenal. [18:02:56] Nikki4 Aquitaine: Work has also begun on a replacement for the long serving Thanatos bomber, I am currently working on the model for it but there is a lot left for me to do, so no pictures just yet. :D More details regarding the plane and it's armaments will appear in the next few weeks on the forum as we finalize them. [18:03:02] Nikki4 Aquitaine: That's all from Astra! [18:03:13] Heavy666 Bolden raises a paw. [18:03:26] Hollowmengitus Yifu: o7 [18:03:28] Riff Petrov raises his hand for the IEA. [18:03:57] Heavy666 Bolden: For Aquila [18:04:05] Heavy666 Bolden: Been a rather eventful week in aquila, we hit 100% activity in the flight for the first time in ages. Havoc and Myself have been working on getting flight activities organized. I want to send my regards to Mikeo Amiot for Obtaining the Armatura CO. Also glad to see Ghost, and Felix back and fully operational. [18:04:45] Zerowinged Vasiliev raises hand for Tactica. [18:04:50] Aryte Vesperia: Thank you. Mr. Yifu? [18:05:02] Hollowmengitus Yifu: Hello, Ordo. Terra had another good week this week, with adequate numbers for the A Squads. B Squads have gone back down to normal activity, as expected, after the NJ Occupation. [18:05:27] Hollowmengitus Yifu: As a reminder to all members of Terra, please attempt to make every available training that you can. These trainings /are/ counted towards activity and, as I mentioned last week, will be a staple of this Summer. [18:05:53] Hollowmengitus Yifu: Tiered meetings are, tentativly, scheduled for the week after next (the second week of July.) Pay attention to the Terra Staff threads for more information. That's all for Terra this week. [18:06:39] Aryte Vesperia: Thank you. [18:06:51] Aryte Vesperia: Mr. Vasiliev? [18:06:56] Zerowinged Vasiliev: Kyra is on LoA so I am handling the report this week! (Yay) Week was filled with edits and auditing of reports. The new Tactica Board is live (full props to Xoza on that). We still have a opening for the cartographer position, so if any of you know/want to make 3D sim-maps then please let us know. AI, Remnant (to my current knowledge), and several other less-prominant military organizations died within the past week or so. [18:07:25] Zerowinged Vasiliev: Lastly, if you wish to join Tactica: Feel free to contact Kyra Vixen or Zerowinged Vasiliev for further information. That's it :3 [18:08:05] Aryte Vesperia: Thank you. Any additional reports? [18:08:14] Riff Petrov raises his hand for the IEA. [18:08:28] Aryte Vesperia: Mr. Petrov. [18:08:32] Riff Petrov: For the Imperial Education Administration: Pretty good week with 14 Schola, 5 Armatura, and 2 Ludi classes held! There has been a bit of a command shuffle in the IEA. Riff Petrov is now the Schola director so any matters pertaining to Schola should be sent his way. Mikeo Amiot has stepped up to Armatura director as well so the same goes for Armatura with him! [18:08:44] Riff Petrov: With the change in staff there will likely be a few changes in overall expectations and the current projects lined up in the IEA. Will be seeing some results out of that in the coming weeks. [18:08:52] Riff Petrov: Instructor list is looking pretty light nowadays so if you've ever been interested in teaching now is a great time to start! Apply at: http://forums.ordoimperialis.com/index.php?/topic/13701-iea-scholaarmatura-recruitment-application/ or contact me directly. That's all for the IEA this week! [18:10:08] Aryte Vesperia: Thank you. [18:10:11] Aryte Vesperia: Final call. [18:10:45] Aryte Vesperia: Moving on! [18:10:48] Aryte Vesperia: ✠Foreword [18:11:21] Aryte Vesperia: Knocking through these topics with relative speed tonight—time constraints on my part. Nevertheless, the information I have for you all tonight is rather important. After this meeting concludes, I will be sneaking off for a bit to grab dinner. Please take the opportunity to deploy and engage our foes. [18:12:09] Aryte Vesperia: ✠ Unshackling the Development [18:12:54] Aryte Vesperia: There has been a budding conflict over the course of a many years: the fine separation between the advancement of technology and the restriction of arms to avoid spiraling into what many would consider scrupulous territory. After careful consideration of the armaments deployed against the Ordo, the call for a new approach has gained momentum. Effective as of last officer meeting, the decision has been levied: the shackles on development are being removed. [18:13:31] Aryte Vesperia: What does this entail? It means full range exploration of technologies that would have been previously deemed illegal—including, but not limited to the development of tracking munitions and advanced reactive defenses. The act of development in no ways guarantee use, instead it does guarantee that the technology available to the Ordo continues to expand, increasing our capability and armory cache. [18:14:26] Aryte Vesperia: The goal here is to inspire creation in the spirit of our 2006-2007 era: wholesale construction and a willingness to try concepts outside the box. Failure to do so serves only to put the Ordo at risk. Our preeminence is only furthered by the ability to pull on advanced arms when necessary and pertinent. [18:15:03] Aryte Vesperia: Thus far, a shopping list has found its way onto the Munitorum forums. Several scripters have already dug their claws in and have begun chipping away at making the conceptions a reality. Munitorum has resumed a proactive role: facilitating construction, rather than administrating what can be constructed. As I delivered in the officer meeting, I would much rather build ten guns and only use one, than to only build one gun and need ten more. [18:15:40] Aryte Vesperia: Technology is progress. Progress we certainly will not undersell ourselves on. [18:16:31] Aryte Vesperia: Next up. [18:16:34] Aryte Vesperia: ✠ Answering the Call [18:17:18] Aryte Vesperia: As mentioned during the diplomatic notes: the vitriol presented by a choice organization has pushed us back into a time long past. The Alliance is certainly not the only organization, but they remain the oldest of foes with this sense of harm infused in their interactions. [18:18:27] Aryte Vesperia: To be blunt: we will answer force with force. We certainly will not degrade ourselves by taking a degenerate stance of returning their hub camping every time they show up to attack Titan, but we will not be deterred by their own attempts to defuse our attacks by blackscreening the spawn. Instead, we will use maximum force and forgo any sort of political discussion on the matter. [18:19:16] Aryte Vesperia: If the AN wishes to ban us arbitrarily and abuse our good will, then by all means, we applaud their intent and will be more than happy to keep shipping explosives to them. [18:19:45] Aryte Vesperia: I stress: we will approach the AN, as any group, with honor and dignity. Do not become embroiled in verbal spats. Do not fall into their traps. Ignore their taunts and keep firing. The AN has, many times, had to resort to bombing their own base just to get us out of it. The AN has, many times, purposefully ignored any regulation and rule to simply try to get at us here in Titan. Essentially av flying to our tower and breaching into the armory? Cute. Pay them no mind. Treat them as you would treat any tool who’d do such. [18:20:20] Aryte Vesperia: Destroy them utterly on the battlefield, but keep your nose out of their bullshit. [18:21:20] Aryte Vesperia: Next: [18:21:23] Aryte Vesperia: ✠ The Phantom [18:21:52] Aryte Vesperia: Over the last several months, Mr. Schuman has worked to supply Astra with an advanced fighter platform. Several hurdles prevented a real use of the technology, but thanks to the assistance of folks like Oblivion Loxley and Tsume Xiao, the Phantom has reached an operational level that I am quite proud of. [18:22:36] Aryte Vesperia: I have been, to say in the least, resistant to even considering the replacement of the Nemesis. I must admit the Phantom fits the bill. It will and has already added a massive bite to our air power. Everything about it just permeates a sense of understanding for “what” works in the air—from the guns, to the fly style, to the speed. [18:23:19] Aryte Vesperia: The vessel has been sent back to Mr. Schuman for a few additions, but in the near future we will be seeing it in full deployment. That said, we will be considering retiring both the Nemesis and Predator upon introducing a physical variant of the Phantom. [18:24:16] Aryte Vesperia: Further, the Thanatos is on its way out. Ms. Aquitaine has started construction on our new tactical bomber: the Executioner. Its armaments shall greatly enhance our expectations of air to ground dominance—it is, for all intents and purposes, the product of many years of experience with the Thanatos. [18:24:43] Aryte Vesperia: Annnnd I am going to skip the keynote for this evening. :J Thank you all for a good week. I shall see you all in an hour or so. 7. [18:00:05] Alexi Ayres: theres gonnna be buddy time [18:00:08] Aryte Vesperia: Good evening and welcome everyone. Thank you all for joining in. Please be sure to hold your comments and questions until you are provided the opportunity to speak. [18:00:32] Aryte Vesperia: Statistics Sworn members: 309 Cadets: 16 (wow) Applications New: 8 Accepted: 4 Denied: 3 Review: 1 Operations Defensive: 93 Offensive: 21 Allied Assistance: 0 [18:01:39] Aryte Vesperia: Diplomatic notes for this week: curiosity abound; relative calm, but a steady increase of international interest (2142/Mercz) in joining up with the Ordo against the Alliance Navy. On that note, the Alliance has largely taken the stance of “hey, let’s pretend its 2006 and be total douches to the Ordo, because that turned out great for us.” We will oblige. The combat is gritty and fun, after all. In other news, Tyr is a great combat location and their leadership is very amicable. Be sure to extend them every available courtesy. [18:03:09] Aryte Vesperia: Unit reports? [18:03:11] BurrWolf Qin Raises his hand for Terra [18:03:25] Aryte Vesperia: Mr. Qin? [18:03:26] Zero Itamae raises his hand. [18:03:33] BurrWolf Qin: Hello, Ordo. Terra has had a good two weeks. To everyone that went to AnthroCon, welcome back! [18:03:42] BurrWolf Qin: The New Jessie occupation was a riveting success and set the ground-work for heightened activity throughout the Summer months. Thanks for handling it so well, guys. [18:03:53] BurrWolf Qin: With the close of the relaxed recruitment standards into Alpha Cohors, I am very pleased to say that many personnel were cycled into the Alpha Squads. Take heed, however, that trainings and organized raids will be a staple of this Summer; squad leads, I'm relying on you to organize these events! [18:04:07] BurrWolf Qin: In other news, expect tiered meetings sometime in the near future. A simple check-in on squads will be put underway soon, as well. [18:04:17] BurrWolf Qin: Lastly, I'll be grading tests later on tonight -- get your promotion exams in as quick as you can, as I may not be grading them tomorrow (Sunday.) [18:04:24] BurrWolf Qin: That's all for Terra tonight. [18:04:40] Ethan Schuman raises his hand for Astra. [18:04:47] Ethan Schuman: (Err, hit Enter too early) [18:05:39] Aryte Vesperia: Thank you. MR. Schuman? [18:05:49] Ethan Schuman: There are a couple of matters I'd like to talk about tonight. First and foremost is Icarus. Astra staff selected the Terra member we want to fill the XO slot (the CO slot will be filled by an Astra member for purposes of oversight). There was a little bit of a miscommunication involving our selected candidate, as he actually didn't apply for the position. However, when approached, he was rather enthusiastic about the prospect of holding that role, so he chose to accept it. Congrats to Reinhardt Stenvaag. We'll be working with him over the next few days to get him fully briefed and trained in what he'll need to know. I know I told you guys you'd have an Icarus event last week, but I had something come up and was unable to find someone else to run it, so I apologize for that. [18:06:00] Ethan Schuman: The second issue I want to bring up is activity. Astra's ranks are still plagued by the minority of pilots accounting for the vast majority of activity. This is becoming increasingly more frustrating, and my patience is wearing thin. Notifications will be going out to pilots whose participation is not satisfactory over the next two weeks (and have not requested a formal leave of absence). This includes pilots in the reserve ranks. Failure to respond to these notifications will result in removal from Astra. [18:06:21] Ethan Schuman: That's all from Astra for this week. [18:06:37] Aryte Vesperia: Thank you. [18:06:42] Aryte Vesperia: Additional reports? [18:06:52] Zero Itamae raises his hand [18:07:10] Zero Itamae: For the Imperial Education Administration: During 6/9 - 6/23 we had 15 Schola, 8 Armatura, and 1 Ludi course held. Not too bad considering the hit AC had on activity. Still loads of cadets in the queue which will change with activity stabilizing! Going to arrange a training session with Mikeo's help later in the week to help test out the new sim build. Will likely put up a thread for it on the forums but if you're interested send Mikeo a message so we can get the numbers worked out. [18:07:28] Zero Itamae: As always anyone interested in teaching or developing training materials apply at: http://forums.ordoimperialis.com/index.php?/topic/13701-iea-scholaarmatura-recruitment-application/ or contact me directly. That's all for the IEA this week! [18:07:42] Aryte Vesperia: Thank you. [18:07:46] Aryte Vesperia: Any additional reports? [18:08:33] Aryte Vesperia: Very good. Moving on. [18:08:43] Aryte Vesperia: I am going to do something a bit unusual for this evening’s gathering: I want to spend the time going over our Winter Revision project piece by piece. Partially out of celebrating our accomplishments and partially out of reminding myself (and others) what is left to be done. We will run down the list fairly quickly, but touch upon each element. That said, there will be no keynote this evening. Please use that additional time to go forth and pillage. [18:09:59] Aryte Vesperia: Without further adieu: [18:10:39] Aryte Vesperia: Topic: handbook revision. Completed, all policy updated; revised to a more constitutional role that supersedes all other regulatory elements. Topic: investment in Ordo lore. Not yet completed, but in the works on account of the creation of the OID—expecting some story premises to be created, along with quasi-RP opportunities for those interested. Topic: armory revision. Not yet completed, but well on its way. Inoue reports that she just needs to bite the bullet and finish it. I’ll endeavor to remind her of that upon her return from vacation next weekend. [18:12:07] Aryte Vesperia: Topic: propaganda development. Incomplete, but it is now in progress with the founding of the OID. Topic: rank revisions. Partially complete with the revision of the combat authority mandates, but I am extending this to include revision of our rank name and symbols. No specific ETA, but we will be moving away from the shield/sword and heavy bastardized Romanesque names. Topic: arena combat. On hold until new region build, an area will be provided to ensure this is completed. [18:13:39] Aryte Vesperia: Topic: RLAV races. Completed the rules and premise/rezzer necessary to make it happen, however no races have been hosted as of yet. Potentially this is an OID opportunity? Topic: crafting/randomized events. No ETA, but a lot of interest presented by donors to see randomization of events added into the new build. High potential of inclusion. Topic: OIC rewards. Completed and available for folks wishing to push for the achievements. Topic: ART achievements. Completed and underway; ART is woven into our combat fabric. [18:15:05] Aryte Vesperia: Topic: unique items for units. Completed. Challenge coins and vanity items available for the divisions as unique rewards (tome/Munitorum robes). Some additional clarity on the use of challenge coins needed. Topic: merit additions. Completed. Phased out marksman badges, replaced with merits. Added additional items. Topic: archetypes. 50%. Models and concepts done. Materials in progress (educational), along with scripting of items. No ETA. [18:16:22] Aryte Vesperia: Topic: elite variant of weapons. In conception and seeing limited testing at this time. Topic: centralized policy. Mostly done—waiting on Astra to update their information. Additionally, still need to clarify the tiers of authority (handbook being constitutional, divisions being federal, etc). Topic: promotion requirement revisions. Not yet handled, but concepted. Now that I mention it, I am sure Hollow will resume pestering me. Additionally, IEA still not up to speed with the NCOA. [18:17:44] Aryte Vesperia: Topic: CDF modifications. On hold until new region, however there is a lot of awesome potential here. Hollow made some major headway some months ago. Additionally, the CDF is seeing a lot of use as a Curia tool. Topic: officer task list. Completed and in use. Topic: force streamlining. Completed and ongoing. Topic: office hours. Completed, but seeing limited us. Officers should resume this. Topic: officer promotion transparency. Completed and available on the policy section of the forums. [18:19:09] Aryte Vesperia: Topic: Armatura revisions. Completed and aligned with the Schola revisions. Topic: Ludi revisions. Ongoing? Still having considerable issues getting the NCOA and additional courses established. Topic: Palaestra expansion. Completed and even further completed with the creation of Icarus. Topic: targeted recruitment. Not yet completed, but in progress and assigned to the OID. [18:21:59] Aryte Vesperia: Topic: Curia revisions. Completed. Curia has taken a more appellate role, with most disciplinary matters handled at the command level. Topic: AiR. Completed. AiR has expanded and is functioning at a far more optimal level. Topic: Praetorians. Completed. Signas have been abolished and the Guard has taken a more flexible approach. Additionally, the Guard has been realigned as a sort of officer SWAT team. Topic: creation of a recruitment group. Done. OID established. Topic: diplomatic core. Not yet completed, nor concepted. Eyeing it still. Annnnd finally, topic: presentation. Done. OID in control of media outlets. [18:24:11] Aryte Vesperia: Annnd that concludes our brief update meetin'. I am going to run off for a bit to grab some food. I'll see you all soon. Be vigilant for AN and get raids out. Big promotion list will be up tomorrow. :} [18:24:14] Aryte Vesperia: Dismissed! [18:24:16] Aryte Vesperia: /s3 [18:24:18] Aryte Vesperia: aw [18:24:19] Aryte Vesperia: fail [18:24:19] Aryte Vesperia snaps his fist to his chest, presenting a brief salute. [18:24:20] Kasumi Quartz salutes, " Ruhm zu dem Imperator" [18:24:21] Mikeo Amiot salutes! [18:24:21] Wynand Doomdale thumps his paw to his chest and salutes. [18:24:21] BurrWolf Qin salutes! "For the Glory of the Imperium!" [18:24:21] Aryte Vesperia: Lmao. [18:24:21] Kithsuneca Eilde salutes! [18:24:23] Markius Faulkner salutes "Pro Imperatore ac Imperio!" [18:24:23] Kyra Vixen salutes! "For the glory of the Imperator!" [18:24:24] Intus Infinity presents a salute. [18:24:25] Shizzerk Kostolany salutes! [18:24:25] Ghost Quihoxil salutes! [18:24:28] Ken Bremer salutes! [18:24:29] Heavy666 Bolden salutes. [18:24:31] Shizzerk Kostolany: JUST IN TIME TO SALUTE
  8. [19:03:09] Aryte Vesperia: This is primarily tailored toward officers, however the message is one that applies to anyone in a command role. As such, I wanted you all to be present so the message resonates clearly throughout our chain of command. [19:03:50] Aryte Vesperia: Foremost. Thank you for joining me on such a short notice. I will make this as quick as possible, however I do have several matters to touch on that are rather important to chew on. Specifically, I really want to address establishing a consensus of behavior and expectations. [19:04:33] Aryte Vesperia: I feel a degree of tension just hovering in the air. It may only be something I perceive, but coming from spending the last five years in a very number driven career I can understand how a negative sentiment would build. We have a dualistic tier of expectations for officers: meeting numbers and demonstrating progressive atmosphere. [19:05:32] Aryte Vesperia: I understand that it becomes a point of contention and generally burdening when there’s this constant sentiment of “must meet X number, or else.” It makes it less of a pass time and more of a motion as part of an unpleasant job. That is certainly not the goal here and I continually give people a great deal of rope on the matter of meeting goals, as I have been there and I know how not fun it is to constantly having a figure hovering over your back. [19:06:49] Aryte Vesperia: However, the number of “must do X raids” and “must hold OIC” are goals intended to inspire and give guidance to basic metrics. I promise you I won’t punish you if you skip or fail on that from time to time. We are human and we have bumps. What I can’t allow is consistent failure and a sentiment of being checked out. You need to meet me halfway. [19:07:22] Aryte Vesperia: Goals become a burden when they are being oppressive, if they are unreasonable, and if there’s no buy in to the goal. [19:07:44] Aryte Vesperia: The goals are not being oppressive: most of you have not met them and I am giving you a pass on it and have for a long time. A very long time. [19:08:24] Aryte Vesperia: The goals are not unreasonable: two raid a week for most of you? Two hours out of one hundred and sixty eight hours a week? Plus a couple hours of OIC time? [19:09:12] Aryte Vesperia: But there is no buy in. I have touched on this time and time again. I do not want to make this oppressive by having to enforce it rigidly. I want to keep it open and respectful to people’s schedules. But if you are not contributing to our goals, nor using your rank to improve the group, then you need to step down. [19:10:15] Aryte Vesperia: Officer involvement is critical. Your involvement in the goals builds confidence in the group. It also sets a strong standard. When an officer holds OIC, the OIC seat is properly fulfilled. When an officer leads a raid, the raid goes forth with high levels of experience. Even if you are not an expert-- you know how the group runs. You know how we want things done and how to handle situations based upon time in service alone. [19:11:16] Aryte Vesperia: So, I reiterate and ask you with the utmost respect: check in and do your part. Do not make the goals oppressive or make me have to micromanage you to get the basic expectations handled. You control your destiny. You control the quality of our defense and offensive operations. You control and are responsible for whether or not we’re inactive or active. [19:12:11] Aryte Vesperia: Next, I want to talk a bit about attitude. We need to be sure to set a positive example. We are not here to set a nanny-state sentiment of protecting everyone from negative sentiments, but we need to make sure our language and our presentation to both one another, enlistees, and enemies is honorable and respectful. [19:12:56] Aryte Vesperia: You can be negative about something respectfully. To be sure, I have a share in this and I expect you to remind me when I am below the line on this as well. [19:13:38] Aryte Vesperia: We need to be sure we’re on one another’s side here. The officer corp supports the officer corps. The officer corps supports the enlisted corps. We must be unified from the top down. If you have issues with any other officer, it must be professionally handled. Otherwise, it must be mediated and brought to my attention. Undermining another officer for the benefit of an enlistee is breaking our solidarity and will not be tolerated. [19:14:37] Aryte Vesperia: Undermining an enlistee for the sake of self gain is breaking our solidarity. And it will not be tolerated. [19:15:07] Aryte Vesperia: Further, respect of specialized departments is equally critical. Every one here plays a critical part to our success. Being disrespectful or developing an anti-X unit mentality will not be tolerated. It does not matter if you are AiR, IAC, IEA, Praetorian, Terra, Astra, or Munitorum. You support one another. If I hear mistrust of divisions being shared among personnel, it needs to be dealt with. If that mistrust is being shared laterally to enlistees, then it really needs to be dealt with. [19:15:57] Aryte Vesperia: At the end of the day, you are all important to my office. Undermining or distrusting any element of the many facets of the Ordo’s administration undermines me. It cuts my ability to be effective and cuts the ability of the Ordo to grow and prosper. [19:16:41] Aryte Vesperia: The Ordo survives and is strong because of solidarity. Distrust, disrespect, and any fracturing ends today. Without exception. I’d rather have a staff of five people who wholeheartedly support one another, than a staff of fifty who distrust and aim to undermine one another. [19:17:17] Aryte Vesperia: Finally, I want to touch on the power meets. [19:17:36] Aryte Vesperia: I am going to change gears a bit to really push the education role of my position. I am going to invest as much time as I can counseling each of you individually to maximize your positions in the Ordo. I am going to extend this to NCOs as well. I will painstakingly, one on one if necessary, ensure every officer is a raid leader, a defensive leader, and a successful administrator. We will sit down, discuss, set goals for achievement, mentor, and critique. [19:18:57] Aryte Vesperia: That does not mean I will protect you from your own incompetence. You have to stand up and be willing to do a job, embrace it, and do it with excellence. [19:19:15] Aryte Vesperia: We saw a bit of this with the 30/60/90 plan. Unfortunately I had issues doing follow ups. I aim to change that. [19:19:45] Aryte Vesperia: Ultimately I want to see this whole topic ring home. We need to step up our game. The Ordo is the America of SL. And not unlike America, we stand poised to lose our luster if we don’t push. We have longevity. We have the means to do great things. We have the staff. We just need to stay in focus and push to keep moving. [19:20:40] Aryte Vesperia: I am going to trim our personnel down to actives only. We’re going to cut the fat and then push for massive recruitment. We are going to revolutionize our region. We are going to revolutionize our gear. What I need you to do is just your part, be excited, and spread that excitement among our members. Exhibit our finery. Teach them what they need to know. Find ways to improve. Take care of matters you can take care of so my time isn’t spent handling tasks that are better managed by you. [19:22:43] Aryte Vesperia: I want today to be the start of our next golden era. We've grown so far, and come to be so much. But we have become content with that. I am not comfortable with being #1. I am comfortable with being so far ahead as #1 that everyone else gives the fuck up trying to catch us. [19:23:21] Aryte Vesperia: As always, I entrust you with tasks of grand proportion and grant you the authority to do what you feel must be done. Use it and prove me right. I didn’t hire you because you’re slouches. I hired you because you are excellent people. We have our speed bumps, we have our differences. Nothing wrong with it. Now let’s get over it, get over ourselves, and get back to doing what we do best: being the best. [19:24:16] Aryte Vesperia: Mr. Hand needs volunteers to handle a mass training over our build layout. Unless you've something better to do, I'd appreciate you getting with him and making that happen. [19:24:22] Aryte Vesperia: Dismissed.

  14. All in all, a great trip. It was nice to hang out with all of the Ordo folks. Thanks for making it fun! Let's get a photo dump going here. And any stories you care to share.
  15. Kudos to everyone who participated in NJ. Very good job. Additionally, a big shout out to everyone (LIKE REINHARDT) involved in the instructure elements of keeping this going.
  16. Incredibly well written. I appreciate you taking the time to write it. Very astute and entirely true. Life is full of difficult choices. I can tell you that history has proven to me that individuals who make the decision to run rather than weather the small storms, often find themselves begging to come back inside the house. It is rarely the "system" or the group that is the problem. It's often the individual. Collectives are eternal. Individuals are not.
  17. Weekly meeting substitute post: normal meeting cancelled. Normal schedule to resume 23JUN12. Post weekly meeting statements here. :) Foreword: thank you all for your participation in the NJ Occupation. I am hearing a lot of good feedback from this. Keep up the excellent work! I will see you all on Monday. As a reminder, you are welcome to wear casual gear on Titan during Sunday. Please keep helping Disembodied as he needs it!
