[17:01:21] Aryte Vesperia: Good evenin'. This will be brief. [17:01:27] Aryte Vesperia: Thank you all for joining me, however. [17:01:52] Aryte Vesperia: I'll be hopping on a plane in .. 9 hours. [17:02:16] Aryte Vesperia: Well, leaving to hop on one, that is. Nevertheless, I am off for the weekend. I'll still be around and able to be reached, just expect delays in reply. [17:02:44] Aryte Vesperia: Several officers and enlistees will also be gone over this weekend. So I'm looking for those who are left to hold the fort down and keep things going. [17:03:54] Aryte Vesperia: The 13th and 14th will be standard days. So push to get those three raids out and keep defense solid. [17:04:30] Aryte Vesperia: The 15th, 16th, and 17th will be our Occupy New Jessie campaign. Be sure to grab the details on it: http://forums.ordoimperialis.com/index.php?/topic/17584-new-jessie-occupation-campaign-15th-to-the-17th/ [17:05:07] Aryte Vesperia: We will still hold the weekly meeting on the 16th. Probably complete with a bunch of Ordo huddled around my computer. [17:05:38] Aryte Vesperia: Please be sure to be on your best behavior. Keep things rolling and I'll be very appreciative. [17:05:58] Object: Welcome to centipede weapons [17:06:17] Aryte Vesperia: Also, be sure to participate in the Occupy campaign. It'll be great opportunity to make some mayhem. [17:06:50] Aryte Vesperia: Do not bother Mr. Hand. Let him work. He'll need helpers to test out the layout from time to time. [17:07:15] Aryte Vesperia: And finally, do not worry about getting in contact with me if necessary. I'll relay messages to the misc officers as well, in case you need them. [17:08:00] Aryte Vesperia: During down time (ex: after occupying NJ for at least 3 hours those three days), relax and regather yourselves. We'll hit the ground running on Monday. :J [17:08:16] Aryte Vesperia: As soon as the new region is complete, you can expect heavy training and a flurry of combat here. [17:08:52] Aryte Vesperia: That said. I will be idling while I pack. Please don't mind me if I reply slowly, I kind of need to get it done and get a little sleep, lol. I need to be up at 3. [17:09:13] Aryte Vesperia: In closing: Disembodied says he needs volunteers to go test the new build. :J Let me know when I can open the sim, Dis. Enjoy. [17:09:14] Aryte Vesperia snaps his fist to his chest, presenting a brief salute.

Stand in report on account of meeting. Terra Report: Hello folks! Sorry I couldn't be here in person tonight. I've got some things to do in real life. Terra had a much better week. Many raids were led and participated in, despite the general lull in community activity. Many new recruits were enlisted within the Alpha Cohors, as per the relaxed standards on enlistment. Please remember that they are still relaxed until the 15th of June! In other news, please remember to fill out the E-8 exams if you fit the criteria (active, skilled raid leader with multiple victories under your belt.) I want to have a nice pool of personnel to select from before I settle on promotions. That's all for Terra this week!

Hello. I do not see an active application on file. However I'd recommend contacting Kristian Kit, as he processed your last request.

[18:01:45] Aryte Vesperia: Good evening and welcome everyone. Thank you all for joining in. Please be sure to hold your comments and questions until you are provided the opportunity to speak. [18:02:14] Aryte Vesperia: Statistics Sworn members: 312 Cadets: 10 Applications New: 12 Accepted: 3 Denied: 4 Review: 5 Operations Defensive: 98 Offensive: 21 Allied Assistance: 0 [18:02:52] Aryte Vesperia: Diplomatic notes: several organizations have rejoined the world as “open.” Top on that list would be the Remnants. Notably, their region has had some significant changes-- all quite slanted toward making life incredibly difficult for attackers. Thus far, our first raid on them demonstrated their intent to play not nice, however continued to demonstrate the relative ease in which their actual personnel are overcome by Ordo. That said, future raids are encouraged to focus energy and pay close attention to the troop distributions: the enemy essentially force you into one of two choke points. Run them back and forth until they falter. [18:03:31] Aryte Vesperia: Not to be forgotten, the happy land of Chaos, full of their delicious aspersions of polite intent, is once again reopen after their fifth rebuild this month. Be mindful of continual attempts by the group to hit us at later hours. If they visit, escalate to maximum firepower and use heavy air assets. As a note, their gunship (the straight/narrow one with armor) is in no way legal currently. It is a fast moving, highly armored craft. Otherwise, expect and prepare for them to try diligently to camp our spawns. [18:04:08] Aryte Vesperia: Unit reports? [18:04:11] Hollowmengitus Yifu raises hand for Terra. [18:04:15] Zero Itamae raises his hand. [18:04:20] Aryte Vesperia: Mr. Yifu. [18:04:23] Hollowmengitus Yifu: Good evening, Ordo. Terra had roughly the same week as last week in terms of activity; mediocrity. [18:04:40] Hollowmengitus Yifu: With the community still in a state of low activity, please remember to train. Training is now, as a reminder, counted towards activity in the Alpha Cohors -- so train often and train well, it will prepare you for combat all the more. [18:05:01] Hollowmengitus Yifu: In other news, Cohors A minimum requirements have been lowered temporarily. if you're new and wanting to prove yourself in combat, talk to an Alpha CO: now is your opportunity to advance. For more information, see this thread: http://forums.ordoimperialis.com/index.php?/topic/17454-temporary-waiver-01jun12-15jun12/page__pid__129521#entry129521 [18:05:22] Hollowmengitus Yifu: That's all for Terra tonight. [18:05:49] Aryte Vesperia: Thank you. Mr. Itamae? [18:05:57] Zero Itamae: For the Imperial Education Administration: 10 Schola phases, 6 Armatura Phases, and 1 Ludi course held. Two new graduates from Schola, Keena Finesmith and Dez Moody; all in all not a bad week! Only one NCO-A class held mainly due to the waiver on Cohors A reqs. Next week should hopefully have a minimum of 3 as well as starting up more Armatura classes. You're free to harass Carrious, Riff, or Shizzerk for classes anytime. [18:06:06] Zero Itamae: Azimuth has spent some time creating some simple functions to help figure out who is actively seeking classes, as well displaying to all instructors who needs teaching. If it works out right it should make it much easier to track the whole process in general! This will likely be tested over the following week so instructors should be wary of it's implementation! [18:06:15] Zero Itamae: As always anyone interested in teaching or developing training materials apply at: http://forums.ordoimperialis.com/index.php?/topic/13701-iea-scholaarmatura-recruitment-application/ or contact me directly. That's all for the IEA this week! [18:06:40] Aryte Vesperia: Thanks a lot. :} [18:06:46] Aryte Vesperia: Any additional reports? Like, Astra maybe [18:06:54] Radryl Allen raises his mace for Adstutia. [18:06:58] Aryte Vesperia: Mr. Allen! [18:07:22] Radryl Allen: Adstutia had been passing by a little rough week, as we still with a low number of people on it and most of them are inactive, our progress is being delayed a little but well it is going good yet. And if you are curious to know what exactly we do here, just send a IM to Radryl Allen or Tonet Millar ( Currently have some issues with his HD though). The informations that Adstutia got for now will be handled to Tactica and to the Imperator as most of the news are about rules or rebuilding. [18:07:41] Radryl Allen: That is all. Also KIDS TAKE THE PORTUGUESE CLASSES. [18:08:05] Aryte Vesperia: Thank you. :} [18:08:59] Aryte Vesperia: Mr. Montpark? :D [18:11:53] Markius Faulkner shifty eyes [18:11:56] Sebris Montpark: Astra has shown some continued levels of high Activity. We've kept taking to the air in multiple offenses as well as defenses. In development. We have a new CO in Aquila as Heavy666 Bolden takes the helm. He has also taken Palaestra XO while we move Incognetus as the CO of Letalis. We look forward to the Activity opportunities they will bring us. We ALSO have more instructors now Authed for the Malice which will get Malice qualification courses done in a more fluid manner. [18:12:21] Sebris Montpark: That is all from Astra for now. [18:12:44] Aryte Vesperia: Thank you. [18:12:46] Aryte Vesperia: Final call! [18:13:16] Aryte Vesperia: Moving on. :} [18:13:22] Aryte Vesperia: ✠ Development Updates [18:13:52] Aryte Vesperia: Several projects have rounded the bend in the road, among which are: our new sniper rifle, the command baton, and the new formal attire. First up, the rifle, is pretty much ready to go. The weapon features some new tricks to give more bite to an otherwise unappreciated and unused unlock slot. Featured with the weapon shall be three ammunition types: standard, depleted uranium, and a raycast round. [18:14:43] Aryte Vesperia: The baton is a title based reward that a few folks will pick up immediately. It is a pretty neat little item that will give Warlords an extra bite to add to their arsenal. As for the formal attire? Mr. Hand has been working his rear off, rigging and tinkering with the design to roll out our new formals. As I understand, he is pushing very close to completion. From what I have seen, the final pieces have a much higher level of detail with the cloth and items associated with each piece. [18:15:27] Aryte Vesperia: Looking ahead, Mr. Flaks has been posting routine updates on the AK-12. Thus far, the model is pretty much done and texturing is soon to begin. I am extremely excited to be soon saluting the SCAR off to its place in our history, despite years of excellence in use. The AK-12 will be an outstanding replacement, I have no doubt of that. [18:16:14] Aryte Vesperia: A little further down the road, I intend to revisit the issue of some of our items being a bit underpowered. Rather than being reliant upon new models, I am preparing to propose some enhancement packages to existing gear pieces-- general survivability and power upgrades to help us deal with groups (a growing number of such) utilizing heavily filtered armor. More on that later. [18:17:22] Aryte Vesperia: ✠ Reminders / Announcement [18:17:56] Aryte Vesperia: Foremost, please remember that on 09JUN12 at 6:00 PM SLT we will be holding our summer group picture. Changing plans a tad bit: rather than wearing formal attire, we will be using battle garb for the image. As such, if you are newer to the group, be sure to take the time to get your armor fitted. [18:18:38] Aryte Vesperia: We will begin gathering around 5:30 here in the meeting room and take pictures promptly at 6:00. After which, we will collect weekly reports and utilize the time as our meeting for the week. However, we will be holding two off schedule events: ART at noon on 12JUN12, and a brief gathering on the same day at 5:00 PM to go over details of Occupy New Jessie plans. [18:19:50] Aryte Vesperia: On that note, we will be holding that Occupy New Jessie weekend over the 15th, 16th, and 17th. The goal being to give Disembodied Hand some uninterrupted build time (also testing time for the build), while inspiring some unusual mischief in NJ. In short, we will be establishing NJ as our war zone for three days and cause utter mayhem for several hours each day. It will be glorious. [18:20:58] Aryte Vesperia: As a final comment, the revision project we founded over the winter has essentially run its course. All, if not most of the items listed are in some degree of finality or pushing close to such. With that, we will be closing that chapter, reviewing its success, and implementing a new plan to carry us through the rest of the year. As always, we continue to look to ways to improve the Ordo and its procedures. [18:22:06] Aryte Vesperia: ✠ Keynote ~ [18:22:47] Aryte Vesperia: For the good of the team, I wanted to spend some time covering expectations in combat, while expanding on some potentially un-codified elements that need to be more formalized. Let us begin by underlining the basic elements that must exist in all combat situations: battle buddies, fire teams (if applicable due to numbers), use of terminology, orderly cohesion, and chain of command. [18:24:09] Aryte Vesperia: Battle buddies, by this point, are not a negotiable element. They must be utilized on every deployment and every defense. In planned situations, such as offensives or prepared defenses, battle buddies should largely be assigned and pre situated. In unexpected defenses, as an individual, you are expected to grab the person closest to you and make it work. The core interest is to work with one another: medic, cover, and hold territory. Fireteams in an extension of this and follows the same ideal: in planned events, fireteams must be assigned and use callsigns (alpha, bravo, etc). In unexpected events, fireteams form out of placement-- ex: all the folks in NE turn into the NE fireteam until otherwise ordered. [18:25:54] Aryte Vesperia: The use of terminology is a very wide topic: this covers the necessity to use one’s name (not I/me, etc), the necessity for shorthand (ET, EI, etc), and the necessity to remain on topic / avoid redundancy of information. As such, please be mindful of what you are saying and when you are saying it. Do not vent frustrations or inundate the channel with repeated calls of “it is lagging/X attacker is using Y item/is that legal?” Maintain on task, stay focussed, and deal with the situation effectively. [18:27:15] Aryte Vesperia: Cohesion and chain of command go hand in hand: order is critical in combat. Combat is inherently chaotic, based upon the actions involved and the investment of emotion into the actions. Every situation can quickly turn hectic. If the enemy put pressure on any given area and create stress in our lines: orderly responses will win the day. Further, utilize your chain of command-- in those aforementioned topics of issue, contact the lead responsible but be sure not to choke them with the problem. “X is using an illegal jetpack” is all you need to say. Leave the rest up to the OIC and get back to the fight. You play an important role in battle: being distracted constantly with what things the enemy are doing that displeases you removes you from that battle. [18:28:53] Aryte Vesperia: Further, let us talk specifically on the elements that are critical during offensives. The processes we have in place, the tiers of authority, and the expectations of handling combat. First, offensives need to follow proper procedure: use the CAE listed in policy to determine who needs to be involved. This step takes mere minutes, but saves you as a raid leader (and participant) a lot of heartache. Be sure that raids are approved by the standing OIC and that an officer has given their OK. This creates a triangle of accountability: the OIC can help find reinforcements, the officer can help provide back up if things get rough. [18:30:01] Aryte Vesperia: Prior to deployment: planning is /critical/. Assess what you are getting in to: cover the basic battle plan, the weapons allowed and disallowed, the enemy’s rules, the enemy’s terrain. Set the expectation as to how the battle will persist and ensure that battle buddies/fire teams are prepared. Throughout the battle, hold those teams accountable for their individual pieces of the job ahead. [18:30:50] Aryte Vesperia: During the battle, use our combined force to its maximum effect: you hit the enemy with a fist, not an open hand. Do not spread forces out unless it is determined to be critically advantageous: hit the enemy at a single point, turn their flank, and drive the victory home. If all else fails, use your resources and ensure that you expend all of them-- the officer who granted the raid, reinforcements (if applicable), gear escalations, and (in rare events) seek the high-end raid help from the experienced leads. [18:32:01] Aryte Vesperia: This whole scheme of things may appear cumbersome, but it is a flow and it is critical to our success. It enforces excellence and sets raids up for success. A few minutes of sweat and an abidance to proper practice will create a positive atmosphere, maximize the chance of success, and build confidence. [18:32:54] Kasumi Quartz smiles lightly [18:32:59] Aryte Vesperia: I can’t stress it enough: practice these. Start with ART. Build confidence with NJ. Then push to the harder targets-- ask for a hand the first few times. Have an experienced raid lead tag along and provide focussed feedback. Excellence begins with the willingness to try. Willingness coupled with a reverence for established procedure and the fire to learn will lead any individual to a level of expertise that shall humble our opposition. Huttser Ishelwood didn’t join the Ordo a great raid lead. Nor did Ron Bleac. Nor did I. We learned through practice and continue practicing. [18:34:16] Aryte Vesperia: Zerowinged Vailiev didn’t just magically become an outstanding combatant. He learned through practice. To this date, he seeks feedback and participates in ART to hone his talents. [18:34:49] Aryte Vesperia: We have a great thing going here. Use it. Expand your horizons, embrace the established procedures we have, use the materials available and use your resources (both written and individuals). [18:35:48] Aryte Vesperia: I emphasize the need for procedure and practice with very good reason, I promise. From order and routine, the general individual is able to exalt his or her self and shake any nebbish nature. Only individuals who shirk routine will be poor raid leaders or poor combatants. Now, when you multiply the use of routine among a body of twenty troops . . . you generate a really impervious force. And that is what we rely upon. Order and routine. That is the Ordo. [18:36:43] Aryte Vesperia: Thank you all for coming. :} Have a good night. Go raid and pillage! [18:36:45] Aryte Vesperia snaps his fist to his chest, presenting a brief salute. [18:36:46] Andriste Nesiote salutes crisply. "Heresy grows from idleness." [18:36:48] Markius Faulkner salutes and shouts. "VICTRIX! It's a piece of cake to bake a pretty cake!" ✠ Thank you to everyone who has served and is serving-- both here in the USA and abroad. We owe you everything. Compared to the sacrifice you have made, Second Life really pales. In the honor of all those in the armed forces, we're going to go ahead and use our June "day off" a little early. It seems only appropriate, considering the gravity of the day. We will be gathering at 5:00 PM SLT on Titan for a little hang out and simply hear some of the stories of those in the service. We'll be on an administrative active standing: uniforms expected; general functions may continue.

[18:00:27] Aryte Vesperia: Good evening and welcome everyone. Thank you all for joining in. Please be sure to hold your comments and questions until provided the opportunity to speak. [18:00:38] Aryte Vesperia: Statistics Sworn members: 310 Cadets: 10 Applications New: 8 Accepted: 1 Denied: 2 Review: 5 Operations Defensive: 96 Offensive: 19 Allied Assistance: 2 [18:01:05] Aryte Vesperia: Diplomatic notes: Aaaand we’re off. Mid week we experienced a full scale 2142 raid and promptly took the fight back to them after a successful defense. The result was an astounding combat maneuver and a strong performance by the Ordo. All in all, we had a good fight with ‘em and managed to pull a good victory from it. Initial indications are favorable, with limited fallout from 2142. I owe the raid team some Imperator coins. Otherwise, a major thank you to those who participated in either the defense and/or offense. It was a definite highlight for the week. [18:01:53] Aryte Vesperia: In other news, Chaos has managed to crawl back out of its hole and has provided some combat as well. As a general rule, escalate heavy and give no quarter. They will aim to bomb our hub and keep us pinned—do not give them that luxury. [18:03:14] Aryte Vesperia: Unit reports this week? [18:03:16] Hollowmengitus Yifu raises hand for Terra. [18:03:20] Aryte Vesperia: Mr. Yifu. [18:03:36] Hollowmengitus Yifu: Hello, Ordo. Terra had a mediocre week. Raids were led and many participated, but not at the regularity of weeks passed. [18:03:53] Hollowmengitus Yifu: Invictus is going to be undergoing some changes this week, which will affect members of the squad. Stay tuned for that! As for Evalidus, command reports a dip in activity, and expects activity to ramp back up around June. It should also be noted that their special "artillery" piece is still under production; I honestly can't wait to see it in action, so here's to a swift completion! [18:04:25] Hollowmengitus Yifu: Insidiae reports the slaying of Diablo and real-life work eating up a large chunk of time. While I do find the saving of Sanctuary a good past time, please do not allow it to overcome you! Raids should be picking up next week, says command. Praescius reports that it is evaluating members to enlist within the squad at this moment, looking to fill slots for the coming Summer. [18:04:50] Hollowmengitus Yifu: As a side note, please remember that promotion exam completion is only a minimum requirement of being promoted: it doesn't guarantee promotion! That's all for Terra tonight. [18:05:48] Aryte Vesperia: Thank you. Next? [18:05:56] Ethan Schuman raises his hand for Astra. [18:06:01] Aryte Vesperia: Mr. Schuman. [18:06:12] Ethan Schuman: Astra had mixed success this week. I'll start off with the bad. Raids and general flight activity was down below what I'd like it to be, and this will be addressed at the staff meeting this week. Communication regarding some vital issues was also muddled up. A lot of this resolves around the events of my personal life last Saturday until after the staff meeting, as multiple events and goals that were supposed to be discussed were not because I wasn't there to bring them up. This will be remedied at the next meeting. On the positive side of the coin, I posted the signup sheet for Project Icarus on the general forum not too long ago. While I was hoping to have an Astra supervisor selected and the charter online by now, my absence at the last Astra staff meeting made that difficult. For those of you who are not aware, Project Icarus is the official name for the Ordo auxillary air corps program. This program allows any Ordo member, regardless of position, to become certified to fly fighters in active combat even [18:06:12] Ethan Schuman: ts without formally joining Astra. [18:06:34] Ethan Schuman: Now, this part deserves its own section so people take greater notice of it instead of it getting lost in the text of my usual post. I would like to say that of the positive things we experienced this week, the best events, hands down, were when Chaos retreated from battle simply at the sight of us launching fighters. We intervened in Badnarik twice, and chased them out of Titan as well. It's one thing to be the best air force in the community. It's another thing entirely when a group that has sworn hatred of you, and all you stand for, turns tail and runs simply at the sight of your presence on the battlefield. It's a huge source of pride and an ego boost for me as a commander to know that those I command are so intimidating. [18:06:59] Ethan Schuman: That's all for Astra this week. [18:07:09] Aryte Vesperia: True that. Thank you. [18:07:11] Aryte Vesperia: Next? [18:07:16] Kaska Czarny raises a hand for IEA. [18:07:22] Aryte Vesperia: Ms. Czarny. [18:07:26] Kaska Czarny: For the Imperial Education Administration: 36 Schola phases, 10 Armatura Phases, and 1 Ludi course held. (Numbers include the prior week as well.) Plenty of new graduates out of Schola, with a large chunk of that being contributed to the effort of Riff Petrov! Starting this weekend there will be set times for the NCO Academy to be held. Awanken Wasp is in charge of the project and at the moment we have recruited Shizzerk, Riff, and Carrious to be dedicated instructors for the course. Like Armatura you can simply request a class, though there will be scheduled classes regularly as well. Drasamax has temporarily taken over the Schola director role while Vain remains inactive. The role may open up in the future as staff shuffles around. Drasamax also has an officer coin up for grabs for any instructor who manages to hold 15 Armatura or Schola classes by June 9th. For those who consistently preform above and beyond, there is also the Imperial Historian merit to earn. This coin would be a good step toward earnin [18:07:26] Kaska Czarny: g the merit/tome. As always anyone interested in teaching simply needs to apply at http://forums.ordoimperialis.com/index.php?/topic/13701-iea-scholaarmatura-recruitment-application/ or contact me directly. That's all for the IEA this week! [18:08:33] Aryte Vesperia: Thank you. [18:08:37] Aryte Vesperia: Final call for reports. [18:08:56] Aryte Vesperia: Moving on. [18:09:07] Aryte Vesperia: ✠ Development Update [18:09:34] Aryte Vesperia: First and foremost, take a moment to inspect the attire I am currently sporting—this is the tunic piece of the new officer dress uniforms. The enlisted set is fairly equivalent, but lacks the silver embellishments. Further, the overcoat (command attire) will fit over and feature the epaulettes, etc. All in all, it is coming along very nicely. Mr. Hand is really producing some quality work here. I am incredibly excited to see it come to fruition. [18:10:25] Aryte Vesperia: The style, as mentioned previously, is based off of our original dress attire from 2006. It will remedy some basic issues (such as merit grids), while setting us back apart from most military groups whom have largely embraced the tie/single button style. [18:11:20] Aryte Vesperia: Looking forward, I need to prefix future projects by stating we’ve made a determination as to who will be handling our region build. After discussing it with a few prospective options, the ultimate choice has come down to tasking the project to someone we’re all quite familiar with and know is capable of producing the style and quality we’re looking for: none other than Disembodied Hand. [18:12:51] Aryte Vesperia: As a reminder: although tasked to the project, it is imperative that he not be disturbed. You are to correspond with me or any other appointed individuals regarding the build. Disturbing him or any other developers will be detrimental to the process. Nevertheless, he has already begun making a schedule for events—foremost, a very rough plywood outline will be done to desk the combat flow of the concepts. After which, the actual building will begin in the sky. As prims are needed over time, we will dismantle the current build. [18:13:37] Aryte Vesperia: Mr. Hand will be primarily devoting his attentions to the build, with the ultimate goal of completion by 01JUL12. [18:14:13] Aryte Vesperia: Nevertheless, as discussed during the donation intake: any leftover cash shall be utilized for funding other major group projects. The idea was floated amongst the donors, ultimately coming up with a prospective list of items, including, but not limited to: the AR replacement, heavy mecha, Archetype completion incentives, Thanatos replacement, frigate-level fleet vessel, super-heavy tank, aaaaaaaaannnnd a mini-tank to appease everyone asking for it. [18:15:09] Aryte Vesperia: PS. The AR is on the forums: http://forums.ordoimperialis.com/index.php?/topic/17410-in-progress-avtomat-kyvari-12/page__pid__128715#entry128715 [18:16:05] Aryte Vesperia: Moving on~ [18:16:09] Aryte Vesperia: ✠ Congratulations etc. [18:16:27] Aryte Vesperia: Changing gears a bit. I would like to take a moment to just extend some congratulations to everyone who has completed another semester (or nearing such). For those of you who have now graduated: awesome! Otherwise, welcome to the summer. Yaaay. [18:17:03] Aryte Vesperia: Historically, summer has really been huge for the SLMC – for us individually, a great time of growth and improvement. I really look forward to continuing that trend. What we can generally expect is some slow period for the next week(ish) as folks shift back to off campus, but after such an explosion of activity grid wide. [18:17:58] Aryte Vesperia: Ordo wise, I would like to set a few goals and start things off on the right foot. First up, we will be holding our bi-annual group photo two Saturdays from now, on 09JUN12 at 6:00 PM SLT. It will take the place of the meeting (for the most part—reports still to be delivered). Per the norm, formal dress attire is expected. If you can’t get that sorted, we’ll figure something out. Last time we had. . . a ridiculous amount of people show up. Let’s get that same turn out! Fill the sim! [18:19:16] Aryte Vesperia: Otherwise, I generally want to spend this summer maximizing our processes and improving the overall quality of our procedures. This includes really honing in on the entertainment value, training practices, and continuing the build that progressive military atmosphere. On top of that, I would like to see an overall increase of personnel activity and a cut down of inactive personnel. What that means is: more recruitment and erosion of folks who’ve been inactive without notice for long periods of time. I really want to see our “300” number be as reflective as possible— something we’ve been working on for a few months now and have had huge success with already. [18:20:02] Aryte Vesperia: Moving on. [18:20:03] Aryte Vesperia: ✠ Combat Expo / AC [18:20:24] Aryte Vesperia: At the end of June, the annual combat expo is scheduled to begin. The Ordo (and NJ) was invited to attend and we’ve every intent to make that happen. For those of you who did not see last years: the expo is a neutral ground demonstration, where we are able to set up a booth and market ourselves along with the rest of the community. It was good fun last year and was generally a healthy experience to just get out there and interact. [18:21:07] Aryte Vesperia: We are going to go into it a bit more prepared this time around. I am in the process of selecting an officer to oversee it. However, the idea was presented that the OID would be good to get involved here. As such, after an appointment is made, I will be tasking the officer to work hand in hand with Marcus to get the details hammered out. [18:22:11] Aryte Vesperia: Further, we’re only a couple weeks away from the typical mass vacation. I’ve decided we’re going to do something a bit unique this year and take the opportunity to both give Disembodied some open sim time for the new build, but give Ordo a challenge to undertake for the weekend. From June 15th to the 17th, I am going to be tasking the Ordo to . . . well, occupy New Jessie. Not simply show up for a raid, but literally make it a base of operations for a large period of each day. [18:23:16] Aryte Vesperia: It’ll be a great stunt to pull while the sim is being worked on. A campaign merit will be involved and a general schedule of “garrison command” set up among the officer corps. In short, we’re going to make NJ a gigantic warzone for a few days. [18:24:29] Aryte Vesperia: Next up ~ [18:24:30] Aryte Vesperia: ✠ Keynote [18:25:22] Aryte Vesperia: For today’s keynote, we shall revisit the teachings of Clausewitz and explore the relation of power and the means of victory as it relates to the use of force. We shall begin by asserting that the generally acceptable thought and paradigm is that the superiority in numbers because everyday a decisive mention; the idea of assembling the greatest number before a battle should be regarded highly, but it is not sacrosanct in its place. [18:26:39] Aryte Vesperia: Courage and spirit are equally, if not more important. As we have seen and expressed at times, the courage and spirit of a fighting force multiplies its physical numbers exponentially without the necessity of actual manpower being present. This, added to the material means of a force, creates a trifecta in which we can value the absolute strength of a fighting force. [18:27:25] Aryte Vesperia: As we have already discussed, the nature of combat is to bring about the destruction of the enemy’s means to combat through the greatest exertion of force at a given moment. This entails a degree of finesse: a deployed force of 10,000, if deployed incorrectly and left to a leisurely manner could find itself routed by a more effectively, combined force of 1000. [18:28:49] Aryte Vesperia: On Second Life, we are often regulated by the imposition of regulations that tie our hand to exercise great numerical superiority on a single field presence. This emphasizes the need for our focus upon the two additional elements of strength: spirit and material. The latter of which, it must be noted, can equally find itself tied up into regulatory tape. That said, the spirit of a force should be taken as the greatest impact on any given battle. [18:30:08] Aryte Vesperia: That is not to say superior numbers is insignificant—likewise to material. Consider our standing: as an organization with numerical advantage, we are able to simultaneously defend and assault other groups. This removes a hindrance that most organizations suffer. Further, we benefit from the ability to operate at a 24/7 standard, attracting a more diverse and preferred recruitment pool. [18:30:57] Aryte Vesperia: However, the spirit of our individual fighting man or woman is and should always remain the core interest of development. Spirit and courage are developed through the culture, educational, and operational conduct of an organization. If the individual soldier is unmatched, then the unity of forces is inherently improved. [18:32:46] Aryte Vesperia: As such, it is mentionable to remind every personnel to take advantage of the training opportunities out there and to be ready to really push the envelope. Further, be comfortable with being uncomfortable—take the time and chance to do your own training, provided the core elements of ART are incorporated and adhered to. Additionally, it is encouraged that every individual remember the core necessities of combat: medic teleporting, accuracy, and cohesion with others. Do not be reliant upon technology (ex: Exodus TP), rather use technology to enhance already profoundly excellent skills. [18:34:01] Aryte Vesperia: Thank you. Have a great evening. :J [18:34:03] Aryte Vesperia snaps his fist to his chest, presenting a brief salute. [18:34:06] Kyra Vixen salutes! "For the glory of the Imperator!" [18:34:06] Markius Faulkner salutes and shouts. "VICTRIX! It's a piece of cake to bake a pretty cake!" [18:34:08] Wynand Doomdale thumps his paw to his chest and salutes. [18:34:09] BurrWolf Qin salutes! "For the Glory of the Imperium!" [18:34:10] conger Mint salutes! [18:34:11] Incognitustealthy Resident salutes. [18:34:11] Andriste Nesiote salutes crisply. "Heresy grows from idleness." [18:34:11] Larry Furlough salutes!
