General Regulation Reminder: Duel Wielding.

Quoting the Standing Orders Thread

06SEP09-I: It is not permissible for Ordo Imperialis personnel to dual wield weaponry, unless:

a. melee/firearm combination.

b. two semi-automatic pistol grade firearms.

Clarification on point A:

This is only allowed when said fire arm is a one handed weapon.

Example: Pistol + Sword = OK

Assault Rifle + Sword = Not OK

Note: Edited for easier readability.

Edit: Corrected via Tsume Xiao.

4srs. Clarification is needed.

In Warhammer 40000 a weapon can be "twinlinked". The techniques vary but what it all comes down to is that you have two identical weapons firing at the same target. What it does rules-wise is that you get another chance to hit by virtue of throwing more projectiles at the target.

So a pistol in each hand could be considered a twin-linked pistol.

This isn't 40K. >.>

Linked implies that the trigger mechanisms are shared, so the weapons fire from one trigger, but are otherwise separate entities.

For example there is a paintball turret that is basically 3 automatic guns linked to a single trigger.

That's Linked.

Two completely separate guns, one in each hand, that's not linked. Tats dual wielding. One gun can function perfectly without the other.
