There's no way to merge the two.CCP (EVE Online's creators) use Steam as a distribution method and possibly for billing. But beyond that, I don't think they link up much at all. CCP tends to be rather jealous of its control over its IP and its profits.

As stated in the Shoutbox just a little while ago.. Esva and I are going to be testing the new set up for the Ordo Cast visuals.  The Cast, this week, will be on Saturday (Time is TBD), but we're going to try to work out all the bugs at our usual 10PM broadcast time (maybe earlier if we get things running well) and then doing some live streaming until either Esva has to go to work or we both pass the Ffff out.  

 

Feel free to join us, poke fun at us, give us a hard time etc.. we like interacting with you guys.  And as always #GetOrdo .. Make it a thing.

SO... seeing as we're getting a little bit of a following for the Ordo Cast we want to continue to grow.  Is there anything youd like us to do on the Cast?  Is there anything we're doing you DONT want us to do?  What can we do to improve the experience with you guys?  Throw any constructive criticism our way and post it here so that we can keep track of it.  Keep in mind, we may or may not agree with you (which is always the case) but anything we can feasibly implement or change, we will.  If what you're throwing out is straight tosh.. then its going straight to the round file.. just keep that in mind.  We love you guys, we love interacting with you guys.. and as always #GetOrdo ... Make it a thing.

Ya know.... Xoza is just one person I've never felt the need to harass.  I remember meeting him back on... Telos IV on SL.....he ended up on my skype list after one massive group call where I sat silently and lurked... yet we never spoke.  YOU on the other hand.... *grins with much mischief, sadism and evil intent*

I'd rather pay more for the OS itself than a subscription for bugs to be fixed that the same entity charging for the fixes let slip past in the first place. Ironically, Apple isn't directly charging for their OS or their office suite.

There needs to be more competition to Microsoft, shame that won't happen in a while.

So as many users have noticed, Skype have been overlaying banner ad's at the top of windows, to the side of them and during video calls but they have a new "Fun" ad's that play sounds that completely destroy a call, Fatal if you're streaming while talking to someone on skype. And I'm going to show you how to stop this completely. 

 

So read on, and as customary, modification of files you do at Your Own Risk

Step 1: Make sure your Skype client is up-to-date by going to Help > Check for updates. Once finished, completely exit Skype.

 
Step 2: Head to the Control Panel and click on Internet Options. This settings area may be hidden under Network and Sharing Center if you don't see a direct shortcut for it.
 
Step 3: Click on the Security tab and select the Restricted Sites icon.
 
Step 4: Press the Sites button and type https://apps.skype.com in the text box, then press Add.
 
Restart Skype for the changes to take effect. 
 
 
Now is some cases this is enough to stop the Ad's, but we want to make sure they can't come back the next time you update so, keep reading
 
 
Step 5: Shut down Skype & head to C:\users\[your user name]\App Data\Roaming\Skype\[your Skype username]. You should see a config.xml file in this directory. Right-click it and choose Edit, then find the line that says <AdvertPlaceholder><AdvertPlaceholder> and delete the entire line. Make sure to save your changes to the file before exiting.
 
You can use Ctrl+F to find the line quickly.
 
 
Note: If you do not see the App Data folder, it's probably because you don't have Show hidden files enabled. Click the Organize button > Folder and search options > View tab > mark the radio button next to Show hidden files, folders, or drives.
 
 
Step 6: Mark the config.xml file as read-only by right-clicking the file and choosing Properties. Check the box next to Read-only and click OK.
 
Now your chat window and video conferences will be free of advertisements.

Now that you're a high roller, we're gonna have to do some Colab work.

Cool.. thats what I needed to know.. Ive read and seen a lot of crap about the drops and all, so that makes sense.. but what bugged me is the fact you're paying real cash in microtransactions in what amounts to a paid beta test.  Thanks for the info Esva it helps put perspective on it.
