  1. There is one reason especially why my trooper is female. Jennifer Hale does the voices for female troopers. Aka Female Shepard.
  2. The rumormill is currently churning out a suggestion that as of now there won't be any non-humanoid races out there, but that is likely to change. In fact, I've heard somewhere that even the current beta testers do not have access to all the races, which I dearly hope is true. As of now, the current races are: Human, Cyborg, Twi'lek, Sith, Rattataki, Zabrak. Might be missing one or two more. And not all races are available for every class. Everyone on the beta is clamoring for more races, especially the Juhani Cathar. Just some trivia: Currently in beta a lot of the alien languages are not in, and are being substituted. This has led to some hilarious and creepy moments, such as a Sullustan speaking huttese. Or my favorite and creepiest, a wookiee speaking ancient sith. And more bonus: This was taken a few weeks ago. Just a picture of my character (trooper) talking to an NPC during a quest along with the companion, Aric Jorgan:
  3. It's not all instanced. Basically, you get two types of missions. Class/story missions, and regular missions. Regular missions are rarely ever instanced. They're kind of quests you do on the way to your class/story missions. The class missions are always instanced. Well, more like phased. You enter an area marked off by a green force field effect (red ones are ones you are not allowed into) and it phases the area ahead just for you. You can see people out of it, and don't go through a loading screen. Other than that the only other instanced areas are flashpoints and some heroic mission areas. I will say though that there doesn't seem to be much reason for standing around in the capital cities other than using the market. Trainers are scattered around the game, usually one on each planet. Coruscant for Republic and Dromund Kaas for Sith Empire. Pretty much only went there to quest and then moved on afterwards. No other real social aspects. No player housing, and as of current no way to invite people into your ship (each class's hangar is instanced, so when you go to your hangar it's "your" ship). You will be running around other players most of the time though. For heroics it's almost imperative, as well as flashpoints, which are like dungeons except heavy on story.
  4. Been playing in the beta. It's been a hoot so far. Next phase starts this week too. I'm going to be playing PvE, most likely going imperial. I've played every class, and to be honest I'm liking Imperial better than Republic, mostly because I hate Taris and like Balmorra.
  5. Found 131 Games with a value of $2504.70 USD Want to point out though that this is with the current market value. It does not reflect how much was actually spent. For example, I bought a few games on sale yet the site lists them at full price.
  6. Vanu can die a horrible death!

  8. Uh...Arma did have that menu.
  9. I've tried to do ShackTac now for years. Before I joined Ordo. Problem is they play saturdays, and I work on saturday D:
  10. Uh....well, when I was 12, most of my friends didn't even have internet then. Online games barely existed other than text-based games. So I was either playing Nintendo or Super Nintendo at that time, maybe Playstation. Oh and I almost started a forest fire. Or something.
  11. How many people are getting this game? Comes out May 10. If you ever played Return to Castle Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory or Enemy Territory: Quake Wars, this is a game you'll love.
  12. I risk being made fun of, but here goes: I once had a dream about Ordo. Basically, it's as if a switch is flipped and we go from playing SL to being actually there, except Titan is not just a sim but a world. Everyone doesn't really realize the change until someone opens fire on a random hostile only to watch him explode in glood and gore. Of course now the realization sets in that everything is real, and with the detrimental effects of people no longer knowing how to drive a tank or fly a praeda (this dream was a long while ago). Problem is now all the other militaries have this realization too, so everyone turtles up because nobody knows what actually happens when you 'die'. Turns out that AN decides to attack anyways, and they're slaughtered by the Vae Victus's main cannons and Astra pilots who jump into their praedas and..well, somehow realize they can fly. In the end AN gets annihilated, but one lucky shot ends up hitting me, and that's when I wake up from the dream. This freaked me out for a few hours afterwards.
  13. Oh god, I made the mistake of reading all the comments of the last ten or so articles.
  14. ~ORDO IMPERIALIS~ OFFICIAL DOCUMENT <=====================Extend to this length=========================> <===========================================================> **********Meeting Report********** NAME/RANK/DIVISION: Rei Kuhr | E-7 Succenturio | Astra ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ DATE: 19MAR11 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ SUBJECT: Main weekly meeting. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ SUMMARY: Power armor, ART, Welcoming Erebus inductees, etc. ============================================================ CHAT LOG: Meeting Opener [18:01] Aryte Vesperia shouts: Obligatory starter, as always: welcome to this week’s meeting. Per the norm, please be certain to hold all questions and comments until provided the opportunity to speak. Interruptions will result in dismissal from the gathering. When you are provided the chance to speak, be sure to /shout/ your comments or questions—otherwise the recorder may not hear you. Thank you: let’s get to it. [18:02] Aryte Vesperia: As I pour tea in my lap. [18:02] Aryte Vesperia: Moving on. Imperator's Report [18:02] Aryte Vesperia: Statistics Members: 321 Cadets: 15 Applications New: 16 Accepted: 7 Denied: 9 Review: 0 Combat Defensive: 112 Offensive: 27 Allied Assist: 0 Diplomatic Report [18:03] Aryte Vesperia: Diplomatic report for this evening: no major changes. RCU proceedings ongoing. Ron Bleac tapped as head of Ordo functions in corresponding with the RCU. Thus far, solid progress has been made. Divisional Reports [18:03] Aryte Vesperia: With that. Unit reports this evening? [18:03] Aryte Vesperia: Mr. Wolfstein. Terra [18:03] SoulBinder Wolfstein shouts: From Teron for Antesignani: Antesignani saw a surge of activity this week, with extensive offensive deployments and some training operations to boot. Started off with a bang on Sunday, which featured a full armor engagement with Delta Force, Ordo Tyrants against [FRAG] BMPs (No contest there, poor guys), that was quite the blast. Later in the week A-II siezes the opportunity to do some rapid battlefield deployment practice and ended up with some intense back to back raids. All in all a fun and busy week for Ante and we still have a few slots open for those interested. [18:04] SoulBinder Wolfstein shouts: From Afevis for Insidiae: Insidiae is back up there, right infront of our good ole' pals Invictus! We would also like to give a welcome to our newest member, Lilium Supermarine! Welcome to Insid' Lil'. In other news, we would like to thank all our members for being so good during this period of Zero Tolerance, for they have indeed survived yet another week in downtown Titan without getting in trouble! [18:04] SoulBinder Wolfstein shouts: From Eriksson for Invictus: Very active and eventful week for Invictus. Numerous raids were taken out by myself and a few of my evil minions. Some really good news: We did get the glorious opportunity to exercise our drop pods over in a few other military sims; namely Jungle. Let me just say: The new drop ship is extremely efficient in getting us to where we need to go... not to mention Invictus Style drive-bys. In other news: We're looking at inducting at least two individuals this week, but that still leaves one slot open so don't fret! Lastly on my list of things is to ask an inside question for Invictus: Who raided my maple syrup stash? [18:04] SoulBinder Wolfstein shouts: From Thatguy for Cohors B: Congrats to Pr0wer Miles, who is the new CO of B-III, Liberatrix. Cohors B activity has increased from meetings to even some raids. Cohors B Command Staff will now be having weekly meetings (which will be posted in the Terra Staff Forums). On top of that, be sure to keep asking for your PRF's and keep up the activity! [18:04] SoulBinder Wolfstein shouts: This concludes the various reports from Terra this week. [18:05] Aryte Vesperia: Outstanding. Thank you. [18:05] Aryte Vesperia: Next? [18:05] Ethan Schuman raises his hand for Astra. [18:05] Aryte Vesperia: Mr. Schuman Astra [18:06] Ethan Schuman shouts: Astra's revival continues to progress on schedule. It is my personal goal to have Astra fully revamped and active to a state we can all be proud of by April 1st. A lot of people have pointed out to me that April 1st is April Fool's Day, and thus to expect something as big as that by then is a fool's errand. To them, I would like to say that April 1st is the start of the Roman new year, so it is only fitting that Astra is on its feet by that day. In order to achieve this goal, multiple steps have been taken and plans put in place. I have spoken about them in bits and pieces, so I will talk about what I feel is the most important. [18:06] Ethan Schuman shouts: The most significant of these is the Palaestra reorganization. In the past, Palaestra has focused solely on training our new pilots. Under the leadership of Tandem (Zerowinged), Palaestra will continue to perform this duty, but with the additional mandate that all new pilots are certified and into flights within 72 hours of assignment. Basic flight training has already been revamped and is in the process of being implemented. By next week, advanced qualifications and standard training courses will also be redesigned and implemented. More... non-traditional courses will also be run in order to break up the monotony of "Oh God, MORE dogfights? F that," so make sure to keep your muskets, snowballs, popguns, and other instruments of madness at the ready. Our biggest problem with Astra training has been standards of quality and irregular frequency. Tandem is going to make sure that good trainings are run often, and that they're worth coming to. [18:06] Ethan Schuman shouts: We've picked up a lot of new blood this week, which makes me happy. With new people comes new energy, and we'll be using that energy for increased activity. We have seen some isolated asset deployment this week, but with talks with 2142 ongoing (We have an exercise coming up at some point in the future. Is it tomorrow? I'd better check on that...) and other groups opening back up to the idea of air combat, we'll hopefully see more action in the skies. In the meantime, however, we'll also fight on the ground just like everyone else. [18:06] Ethan Schuman: That concludes Astra's report. [18:07] Aryte Vesperia: Thank you. Any additional reports? [18:07] Corsi DeAllura (corsi.mousehold) raises his hand for Tactica. [18:07] Aryte Vesperia: MR. Mousehold? Tactica [18:07] Corsi DeAllura (corsi.mousehold): Last week was a busy week so doubling up my weeks this week. New militaries ... There's three. Black Steel Mercinaries in Rosendale, Segova Empire in Surinam Island, and HIVE which was the remnants of Atrius Invictus which followed the same ideals as Atrius invictus and followed the same fate as Atrius Invictus which leads us to Closed groups. Coya the open combat group, Big Head Squad, HIVE and infortunately, Erebus Initiative. However Tactica would like to welcome our new members from Erebus. Once you guys have enough rank, apply and I'll put you to work. Last but not least, Silver Hawks have renovated and rebuilt and thusly reopened and Coalition Order has closed for rebuild claiming they had so many complaints about the build being unfair that no one would attack them. (Cue Huttser to comment that Ordo beat them) On that note, I have to say that Tactica has broken another record this week, We still have a full roster. That makes a full two weeks of having plenty of people. This Concludes the Tactica Repo [18:07] Corsi DeAllura (corsi.mousehold): rt for this week. [18:08] Aryte Vesperia: Er. Thank you. Any additional reports? [18:09] Aryte Vesperia: Excellent. Moving on. Keynote Topics [18:09] Aryte Vesperia: I have a couple topics this evening. But we'll make this as fast as possible. [18:10] Aryte Vesperia: (70 people on sim. Wow.) [18:10] Aryte Vesperia: > Update: Gear [18:11] Aryte Vesperia: Rejoice. The new power armor has reached a milestone in production -- the base model is now completely finished. It is all down hill from here. However, remaining tasks include: completion of the primary assault cannon, completion of some deformer animations to make the suit fit avatars appropriately, and the scripting of the suit. [18:11] Aryte Vesperia: (The model is in the build zone .. pan down if you dare.) [18:12] Aryte Vesperia: As a recap: the armor will feature both rockets and a heavy assault cannon. For most purposes, it will be treated as a "heavy weapon," rather then a vehicle. [18:12] Aryte Vesperia: Although not yet set in stone, the armor will tentatively be called "Aegis." Something to the effect of "Advanced Powered Combat Armor, Aegis MK1." [18:13] Aryte Vesperia: In other news, the individual tapped for the Subjugator model replacement has seemingly dropped off the planet / been kidnapped by ninjas. We will be exploring alternatives immediately, as the original offer is well over a month overdue at this point. [18:13] Aryte Vesperia: Mr. Singularity Phenomena dropped several intriguing weaponry concepts my way. They are largely advanced/sci-fi in design . . . but they really beg to be utilized. It will present a good opportunity for us to revise out some of our older weapons with equivalently "futuristic" weapons, like the shock rifle. [18:14] Aryte Vesperia: As a side note, Mr. Reisman sent me an extensive letter detailing the concept of having demo weapons. The idea has come up in the past, but for whateve reason it never really gathered a lot of acclaim. [18:14] Aryte Vesperia: Although it will take a degree of work to make it happen, I largely support having "demo" versions of our armory. In short, we will be exploring and implementing trial versions of our gear-- that way, someone can temporarily unlock something to simply see if it is worth their QP. To prevent abuse, there will likely be some expense to it (10-20qp, or something alone those lines). [18:15] Aryte Vesperia: > ART System Preliminary Run [18:16] Aryte Vesperia: Tomorrow at 5:00 PM SLT, I will be administrating the first run of the ART system. It will be . . well, very exploratory. I doubt it will even go for the full intended length. [18:16] Aryte Vesperia: It will be volunteer basis, first-come-first-serve. Up to ten folks. [18:18] Aryte Vesperia: I warn anyone daring enough to join in, that it very well may not go anywhere in the way of serving as a qualifier. It will be a good chance to get an advanced look at how future sessions will be ran, however. [18:18] Aryte Vesperia: In the future, sessions will be scheduled ahead of time, with enrollment queues. As a reminder, E-3 is the only requirement for participation. [18:19] Aryte Vesperia: Questions before we move on? [18:19] Squeeks (yoki.mistwalker): none [18:19] Arokh Takakura raises his cane. [18:20] Aryte Vesperia: Mistwalker? [18:20] Squeeks (yoki.mistwalker): No questions Sir [18:20] Aryte Vesperia: Oh-- durp. [18:20] Aryte Vesperia: Takakura? [18:21] Arokh Takakura: Is it going to be purely raid-call style at the time of holding or will there be a call on the forums tonight? [18:21] Aryte Vesperia: I will probably plop something on the forums at 4:30 tomorrow. [18:21] Arokh Takakura: Thankyou. [18:21] Aryte Vesperia: No problem. [18:21] Aryte Vesperia: > Command Meet [18:22] Aryte Vesperia: On Tuesday at 5:00 PMSLT, I will be hosting a command meet up for all staff-- any CO, XO, Adjutant, officer, century leader, century XO (etc) are invited. [18:23] Aryte Vesperia: It will largely be a semi-formal gathering, intended to give command personnel the opportunity to have dedicated time to bounce ideas around and communicate with both myself and the rest of the HC. [18:24] Aryte Vesperia: In addition to which, I will be taking time to give feedback to the command staff. [18:25] Aryte Vesperia: If wished, any "invited" member is welcome to also bring an interested Ordo friend-- so, commanders, bring along a command aspirant. [18:25] Aryte Vesperia: Again, this will be on Tuesday, the 22nd, at 5:00 PM SLT. Bring questions, concenrs, or . . just bring yourself. [18:26] Aryte Vesperia: > Formal Welcome [18:27] Aryte Vesperia: We have seen a strong increase over the last several weeks-- both from Erebus, and simply from folks dragging their friends along. Thank you to everyone who's opted to join us, and a big welcome to you all. [18:28] Aryte Vesperia: It is awesome to see you all here. I look forward to working closely with you all in the coming days. As always, increased numbers and personnel brings with it the opportunity for growth and advancement throughout the group. A lot of positions are available out there-- don't be discouraged if you're new, the sky is really the limit. [18:30] Aryte Vesperia: We generated nearly thirty deployments this week. That is an outstanding push. I thank all of our raid leaders for their diligence-- especially the folks new to combat leadership. Kudos to you all. Let's keep it up. More personnel are now available to take out onto the field. Let's keep those numbers high. [18:31] Aryte Vesperia: > Recharge [18:33] Aryte Vesperia: As noted on the forums yesterday, the administrative decision has been made to declare tomorrow as a stand down period in order to provide the defense an opportunity to simply relax. Over the last thirty days alone, we have generated nearly a thousand instances of defensive combat. That is an amazing escalation from our prior build-- the number nearly exceeding the last six months combined. [18:34] Aryte Vesperia: This has provided us a great opportunity to really practice, and practice hard. On many days, it is rare to have even a half hour between instances of combat. [18:35] Aryte Vesperia: It is definitely impressive to me that the Ordo has the capability and the dedicated personnel to maintain a strong defense under such conditions. [18:36] Aryte Vesperia: As thanks, we will take tomorrow to simply relax, hang out, socialize--so on and so forth. Administrative functions will continue, and pre-arranged sessions are welcome to continue forth (2142 vs Astra, etc). [18:38] Aryte Vesperia: By request, command is currently reviewing the possibility of making a revision to the lone wolf regulation within our covenant. It is possible that we shall modestly decrease the time allotted to single attackers during late hours, to simply provide our night watch some breathing room between the increasingly common large/group attacks. [18:39] Aryte Vesperia: A final ruling will be made and presented tomorrow. [18:40] Aryte Vesperia: There are several events pending for after the meeting, including the commencement of Praetorian trials. However, I have little doubt a combat mission will also be carried out. I will be around all evening, off an on, working on various things as I catch up. [18:40] Aryte Vesperia: Please give me some time if you're waiting on a reply -- I will get to you. [18:40] Aryte Vesperia: Promotions will be up tomorrow morning. Feel free to drop me additional requests until midnight. [18:41] Aryte Vesperia: That said, thank you all for coming. An impressive seventy-six paricipants. That exceeds our picture day gathering. [18:41] Aryte Vesperia: All in all, a great week. I am very happy with our success. Thank you all. Dismissed. [18:41] Aryte Vesperia snaps his fist to his chest, presenting a brief salute.
  15. I'll defend Zrazor here. There was way too much going on today with the morning hours. Lots of people coming in and bitching. People using questionable weapons. And there was almost always no break. In fact when I was there, one person had been fighting, one had just started, and by the second finally hit his limit, a third appeared.
  16. Make sure you guys watch out. Some people have been able to send fake Steam gifts using a @steampowered.com email address. Here's a link to what it looks like so you can avoid: [media]http://imgur.com/dxlVi Note: You cannot recieve a gift of a game you already have. This is how I noticed at first. I already had BFBC2 and I was being gifted it again? Anyways, make sure you only recieve gifts from people you know. Preferably accept any gifts through steam itself and not through the email.

    Your SL history

You have no idea how much I heard this when I first joined SL. I was another There refugee, and the second I even mentioned SecondLife I got cut off from all my There buddies. Ironically, most of them eventually came over. The same with me. When I joined I told everyone that I did not ever want to be an officer and E-3 was the highest rank I wanted to be. Now, I've been all over the rank chart.
  19. Just got word of this a moment ago so sorry about the short notice. I might have to miss or cut short D block today due to a surprise birthday party I'm being dragged to. It's supposed to start an hour after D block is timed to start.

  21. The important thing to keep in mind is what Hunter said. Anyone who starts barking commands who isn't the OIC may mean well, but they're only going to cause confusion. It doesn't matter if you think you can do a better job, if you're not OIC, do not under any circumstances give any order during defense. If you have a problem with the way the sim is being defended, privately IM the OIC with your suggestions. If he chooses to disregard them and do his own thing, well that's his prerogative. If you think an OIC is neglecting his duty, then by all means submit a CIR about it. If you openly go against the OIC, the only thing that will happen is you will land yourself in hot water. I'm leaving that statement by itself, because I want everyone to read it. Never EVER go against the person in charge. There are protocols in place to deal with this situation properly. It's not all dark skies and booming clouds though. Use your judgement and what leeway you have. If the OIC tells you to go to SW and you want to defend center, put yourself in a position where you can cover SW and help center. I found that if you go slightly north of the SW tower, you can put yourself in a position to easily cover SW while leaving some room to help Center if needed. The same goes with NE. The alleyway beside the power station allows you to help center while keeping the NE road covered. Use your heads.
  22. I'll just leave this here: IV-413: The standing NC/OIC assumes command during defensive postures, regardless of branch of affiliation. All authority should be derived directly through the NC/OIC—dissenting commands, suggestions, or impeding of the NC/OIC is classified as insubordination unless from a superior member of officer status.
