Cygna
I downloaded a new skin for the Ordo Forums and installed it, and in my opinion it's like 1000x better than the IP.Fury (the default skin with the orange) skin we're currently using. If everyone likes this new skin better than the IP.Fury, I'll replace the SOCOM background it came packaged with to an Ordo related image (maybe of Titan or something) and make it the new default skin. I can also turn off the transparency if text is too annoying to read.To inspect the new skin for yourself, scroll to the bottom of this page, and on the bottom left you'll see a white drop-down box with IP.Fury in the name. Click that and then click on IP.Warrior.Please vote
Desereck Creeggan
Looks a lot like VG's forums... just putting that out there.I like it though.
ribena Homewood
I fell in love with how bold and basic it was, my main used to be Fury but now it's this.By the way, I even more fell in love with it when I clicked "add reply." Background is da smex.8 FUMS UP
Jayce Iredell
Although cool, scrolling for me seems to be choppy, the foreground threads seem to be skipping accross the background.
ribena Homewood
Although cool, scrolling for me seems to be choppy, the foreground threads seem to be skipping accross the background.Same, switched to Google's web browser and all's k.Btw, Intus - "THE ORDO IMPERIALIS" interferes with one's name.I do not like. :(
Cyphre Iredell
Well it does have transparent tables and all, which is why it does that for many. I think its nice, but no idea how it is anything like VG's forums...
Agares Tretiak
I like it, in theory, at least. New background is needed. Maybe a stone wall with the Ordo cross set in it...something like that.

Cygna
If you switch to the Google Chrome internet browser then the choppiness should clear up (along with many performance issues Mozilla Firefox suffers from). If it doesn't it's probably your computer performance.Agares: Yus that would be nice. Or a scape of the new Titan build.Desereck: I see no correlation between IP.Warrior and the Vanguard forum templates aside from that they're both dark.Ribena: The Ordo Imperialis logo doesn't interfere with my name. Mine looks like this:Also keep in mind, if the default forum skin gets changed to IP.Warrior one may always elect to switch their skin individually back to IP.Fury by following the steps I provided in the OP post. Jason Backer
Any chance of just getting a plain "black" background to? I really like the skin, it looks great, I just don't like reading text on top of pictures.Ignore this retard, Adblock works wonders Edited January 9, 2010 by Jason Backer
Cyphre Iredell
Would be nice if the background was a bit more subdued in general for the sake of eyesight.

Scientific Waffle
While I realize members can revert to other skins if they dislike it, I don't like the idea of using a skin that only works in one specific browser as the default skin. I might suggest that people who like the skin (and prefer Chrome as it is) use that skin if they prefer, and keep the default as it is. Desereck Creeggan
In any case I want to see the background on this removed
Trevor Russell
Don't like the new skin, too distracting. Fury works great as is. If you do keep it, turn off transparency, hurts readability.I have no issues with running Firefox, make sure you are running the latest (3.5.7 as of 09JAN10).Google Chrome is /slightly/ better than Firefox regarding Acid 3 standards, but not by much. Neither passes it. Only Safari 4, Opera 10, Epiphany 2.28, and Iris Browser 1.1.4 pass. :/DOUBLE POST: Any skin which goes so far as to use Acid3 standards is too flashy for forums use, in my humble opinion. RazorFox
LET'S NOT REPEAT THIS DISASTERPIECEAlso IP.Warrior disagrees with my browser something fierce. If it's changed, I'm gonna be sticking with Fury for sure.
Trevor Russell
Anyone using any version of Internet Explorer can die in a fire, btw. If you are trying out the new skin on that, you've got no grounds to talk :/
Cygna
Steff made a fantastic background \o/EDIT: It works fine on both Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox for me...
Trevor Russell
Lets think of it like this. Most of the people in the world use Firefox or Internet Explorer. If the website looks poorly on these, then we look poorly. Its installed, the people that like it, have fun with it, we aren't removing it. However, this is the first thing a cadet will see when he registers. I don't want him to see a website that doesn't look well. Those of you voting...realize, we aren't voting whether to use it. Anyone can use it. We are voting what is the default.Because of this, as a web admin, I believe it is my duty to vote a firm strict "no" and suggest all others to do likewise. Steff Flintoff
I acualy like it with the new background, not that I'm biased. but it's dark enough fo text to be readable, but still light enough so you can see what it is.plus the dark fields fit the ordos theme better then fury. Scientific Waffle
If it works for some users but not others (depending on certain combinations of hardware and browser choice), it should not be used as the default skin. It can always be an option for those who choose to use it, but repeating what Trevor said, this should not be made the default.
