  1. I've noticed some people don't know what some of these development phases are, and have to have theme explained a bit. This is here for a quick explanation. Alpha - This is just getting started, often times REALLY BUGGY and wanting to get features out. This is also when you start seeing new features being implemented while still under development. Nightly builds are usually of this quality. Beta - More refined than alpha builds. Often times, buggy, may have new features come in or some adjustments to features, but at this point, it's more concentrated to get the software bugs out and get it to the next phase. Release Candidate (RC) - These builds are close to being released and usually have little-to-no major bugs in the software. It's usually ready for the general public to try out and use. Release/Stable Release - This is the last released build that doesn't fit in the above categories. This can also be called "going gold" or "sent to manufacturer." Once you've reached this, the next version starts back at the top, with Alpha, sometimes starting with modifications of this build.

Name: SalemAdams Wobbit Rank: E-5 Squad: Aquila Current Curricular/Extra Curricular Activities: Munitorum Administrative Adjutant II Position you are wishing to be considered for (may apply for multiple but will only be selected for one): Department head If selecting Department Head, please select which Department: Expiscor What you believe you can contribute to the OID and Ordo as a whole: Well, I bring experience from being on a college newspaper for about three years. I was a writer (3 years), Web Editor (2.5 years), and Advertising manager (1 years) for that newspaper, as well as being a web designer since the late 1990s. I am also willing to train others whom do not know how to perform an interview, and how to write according to a specific style guideline to be determined at a later date.
  3. I'm going to have to agree with Reinhardt, and this article explains why. />http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-18241494
  4. I'm not sure if you all heard about this, but the CDC has a Zombie Apocalypse "emergency preparedness" post on their blog. It's old, but still...:P />http://blogs.cdc.gov/publichealthmatters/2011/05/preparedness-101-zombie-apocalypse/
  5. That same person posted in the Kusanaga Technologies chat. No responses. Same EXACT wording.
  6. The reason that I would use such a thing is because of the CR assistance.
  7. @Hokusai: Wow...just...wow. Why can't people think that one day out of the entire month, the entire group takes a breather. I personally find it helpful in the way that, at least for me, lowers burnout and has me concentrate more on other projects, either personal or Ordo-related.
  8. Or I could get a fursut. BUUUUUTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT, since my desktop is borked and was built in 2004, I need to get a new desktop.
  9. Also, I'm wondering about this board: ASRock 970 Extreme4
  10. Updated specs, due to the motherboard no longer being available. Had to get a new CPU, Motherboard, and Cooler
  11. Can we please get back to the topic at hand and stop measuring our forum e-penii? Thanks. I do agree with Rein and what has been said. We could definitely improve some of what we say, such as stop saying that noone likes x person as a joke. While some may be able to take it as a joke (including me), others may take it more seriously, and I know a few people that would take such a phrase seriously.
  12. First of all, Happy Mother's day to all of the true females IRL (even the ones whom don't have children). I say this because it's a tradition that a church that I used to attend did, and I thought that it should still be brought out. Second, what did you all do for Mother's day? I gave my mother two gifts: http://www.thinkgeek...s/science/edb1/ and http://www.thinkgeek...ce/lights/eba5/
  13. I own a G930 right now, and it's very durable, especially during travel. The only concern is if you travel with the base station that it comes with, make sure you remove/detach the transmitter.
  14. Yeah, I can already make a good recommendation on that.
  15. Yes, but it felt like you completely ignored what I said when you said "save up for better parts," and ignored anything I didn't list as salvagable. Do keep in mind, my current desktop has AGP technology, and it's about 8 years old right now. Not much can be salvaged except for the monitor and anything connected through the USB ports.
  16. I would love to see multiple raids out at the same time, even if it's like two raids at a time (attack two places at the same time). Wouldn't be the first time anyone has done that, and I have had to split up a raid team to go to three different places when I was leading raids in a previous military (we literally had that many). However, we don't always have the people on, nor the numbers on to go do these raids, and sometimes, I'm hard-pressed to find an officer that is on SL at the time a raid team is wanting to go out (I'm not necessarily leading it, but I have noticed this growing trend). Now, it's probably finals, but after finals, we should see more officers around, right (with exception to some that are on the quarter system and not the semester system)?
  17. Hunter a.) I need a new desktop b.) This rig is already configured for SLI c.) I am not going to spend more than what is budgeted, as I have stated. d.) I am salvaging parts from my old computer, which are keyboard, mouse, monitor, and speakers. e.) I am using over 150 watts more than what is needed, and it is SLI certified.
  18. Sadly, I have noticed this myself. I also have attempted to take out a raid myself, and when there wasn't much in the way of attackers available (either too many numbers or to little to be open), I tried to get one army signed off. Now, while I do have experience in leading raids in other militaries, I do not have such within the Ordo Imperialis. When I asked about getting signed off on a raid, after obtaining OIC permision, from two different officers (because one said they couldn't observe and asked me to ask another officer), I was told they didn't feel comfortable signing off on the raid, due to the target. While I understand the reasoning why (they didn't know how my raid record was, which was understandable, and the target was a Tier-2, which I would need their sign off on it anyway), I felt a bit discouraged when a raid was taken out less than half an hour later, and I was afk for a small bit, to take care of some RL stuff that I was planning on taking care of later on. Now, I know I haven't been around to raid, but I have a damn good excuse, being hospitalized off and on these past few weeks. I know I'm probably a bit rusty on my raid leadership, since the last time I led one was back when I was in my previous military, but there would probably had been a few experienced people on that raid that could had given me advice in private if needed. I can't say what the outcome of that raid would had been, because it didn't happen.
  19. I'm not too concerned about the noise, but if you can suggest a specific model that is about $35 or less, and can fit an AM3 socket, I might go for it. Edit: Perhaps this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835186035 or this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835226050 And I'm probably going get Arctic Silver as well.
  20. I already have a neat laptop, but I want to have a good desktop that is comparable or better than my laptop (so I can have a working desktop again). I'm wondering what you all think of this configuration. Specs: Case: RAIDMAX Altas ATX-295WB Power Supply: Antec EarthWatts Series EA-750 Green 750W CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor AMD FX-4100 3.6GHz (3.8GHz Turbo) Quad-Core Processor CPU Cooling unit: ZALMAN CNPS 7500 COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 Motherboard: ASUS M4N98TD NVIDIA nForce 980a SLI ATX ASUS Crosshair V Formula RAM: Crucial 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR3 1333 Video card: ZOTAC GeForce GTX 550 Ti (Fermi) 1GB GDDR5 Sound card: on board (motherboard) Hard Drive: SAMSUNG Spinpoint 1TB Optical Drive: LG Black 12X Internal Blu-ray Drive Operating System: Windows 7 Professional SP1 64-bit I do not need a new monitor (yet), nor a keyboard or mouse or a wireless card. This will be next to a router, so wired would work anyway. Eventually I am planning on getting two video cards in SLI configuration. Please post your comments on your opinion of this build, and please do not turn this into an AMD vs. Intel or AMD/ATI vs. nVidia. I am wanting to make a reasonably priced gaming-class PC, under $1000, with blu-ray support, and 1TB Hard drive minimum, and at least a quad-core processor (no single, dual, or tri-core). Also, if you want to recommend something less expensive than this build, please show it to me.
