  1. I need a room to stay in. I dunno if everyone's rooms are full yet. Of course, I even lay on the floor in my own home sometimes due to the strange fact that I'm never comfortable in the same sleeping for any extended period of time, so that's an option as well if there aren't any beds left. Anyone have any space still?
  2. http://www.youtube.com/user/AndanteLargo I've been subscribed to this guy for a while, having discovered him while looking for an acoustic version of the Schindler's List theme. I figured I'd share his work with everyone else. His music is absolutely beautiful. He does covers sometimes, but his real strength is in writing his own music. Thoughts? Yesterday - Beatles I've always been a massive fan of the acoustic guitar. Peo seems to grasp your soul with the music though; he doesn't just play it, he owns it. Even in his videos you can really tell he's wrapped up in it, and that it really is a passion of his. He does tend to write a lot of songs about his loved one. I don't think she's alive anymore. He's written dozens of songs in her honor though, which I find really moving all in itself. An amazing artist though. If I had the time, I'd learn to play one if not for any other reason but from his inspiration.
  3. Bastard, stay away from mah Xayvien. Unless you give him waffles. Then you're okay.
  4. Seeya, Thunder. You've got friends here, remember that.
  5. If they're having money issues and are trying to drag you into them against your will, beat it like an egg. Don't put yourself in any position to be throttled by them for your well-earned money. They are your parents, yes, but they don't gain the right to put you out on the street because they suck at keeping good credit.
  6. I never said it makes the regular flu more deadly. I just meant that it was stupid to be afraid of something that has less of an impact on the world than the currently "normal" influenza virus does. Considering that first world countries such as the United States have the "BEST HEALTH CARE IN THE WORLD" (lol), a death toll of 36,000 yearly does sound a bit severe. So you can only imagine what the rest of the world is feeling. We've just lived with influenza for so long (it's been recognized for centuries) that people have stopped classifying it as a threat. The same thing goes for radiation, but seeing it as less of a risk and then fearing something mild and harmless in comparison is foolish.
  7. Link 'em here, Esichs; it's a public section. :>
  8. Rainbow Six, Tom Clancy. The elite multinational anti-terrorism paramilitary force, codenamed "Rainbow", is deployed in multiple operations across the globe. Upon discovering a trend in each terrorist operation, their own intelligence branch begins an investigation that eventually uncovers a larger plan that is already in motion, and they must act fast to put it down before thousands of people's lives are threatened. Yes, I read it before I played the game. And yes, the first game is based on the novel. And yes, the book was amazing.
  9. Okay, I just had to make this topic. No, I won't be sitting here warning people how dangerous it is. I'm righting some wrongs in perspective caused by the United States government and our alarmist media about a relatively harmless virus that has been blown out of proportion. I say "relatively harmless" because while everyone is running scared from a particularly small problem, they live day-to-day unafraid of the big one. Clearly, regular infections of influenza are more dangerous than swine flu is being purported as being. Yet I don't see mass hysteria about the regular flu, let alone people scrambling for immunizations or flooding the hospitals in fear of having it on a day-to-day basis. "But wait! What about the 100~ Mexicans who died from it?" Keep in mind that the deaths happened in a country where the tap water can easily give you dysentery, and where the living conditions are terrible. Many of them, I'm willing to bet, were farmers. Also, keep in mind that you are most likely to catch it when in direct contact with living or recently deceased pigs; you can not catch it in your food, as the CDC website clearly states that food that is properly cooked will not sicken you. I'm finding this public mass hysteria to be quite unsensical, especially since people are believing anything they see on TV nowadays without researching the issue thoroughly. People wearing masks in downtown Los Angeles? It's ridiculous. But now I have to beg the answer to this question: Why, oh why, Mr. US Government and Mrs. Mass Media, why does this issue raise so many alarms when regular influenza does not?
  10. Well, I don't know. The last time I went to the MC base, I actually congratulated a guy who had just gotten inducted into their training program and told him that the Militant Collective is a brilliant choice of military and he wouldn't go wrong with it. Right in front of Aeonite, in fact. So, so far I think this whole situation is mighty tough bullshit.
  11. Indeed. I'm not a sports person but I will say that soccer actually does have a bit of grace involved and would be the only sport I'd care for if I felt like caring for any at all.
  12. Hey look buddy, I'm a Spy. That means I solve problems. Not problems like "What is the magnitude of the induced emf εAB across the 17.8 turn at t = 1000s", because that would fall within the purview of your conundrums of scientific mathematics. I solve simple problems! For instance, "how am I going to stop some big mean mother-hubber from getting into the base and stealing my intel?". The answer? Use a knife. And if that don't work? Use more knife. Like this carbon-steel, gold-plated lil' ole number attached by me... Built by me... And you best hope... Not wielded by this guy.
  13. Edited it up a bit to fix some continuity problems with future ideas I have. Also, posted it on my Deviant Art account so it's protected under Creative Commons (CC) and given some coverage by international law. :3
  14. Hey guys. A bit of pretext here, to lay the groundwork for this. Around September, after I had joined the Ordo Imperialis, I had started tossing around ideas for an Ordo novel. It took me months to get the idea down; it's one I've been working on since even when I was in the Mercz, thinking of the story for well over a year. Naturally the story has gone through thousands of iterations and I've been through many ideas, and it is, of course, not about the Mercz anymore. It went from LOL ALIENS RETAKING THE GALAXY (lol pre Mass Effect so I beat them to it) to something a lot more deep and meaningful, to something even more deep and meaningful, to its semi-final iteration, beginning below. Don't worry, I won't spoil it here. And for those of you who think you can plot-bunny this one, no. ;) It takes place 800~ years after our current time, in which humanity begins to make its voyage out into the stars and takes its first steps into the galaxy and, like in Mass Effect, finds that it's not exactly the largest kid on the new block. It happens after current Ordo history, however, meaning they've had time to establish themselves. Nonetheless, they were largely outclassed by the Ordo Imperialis from the beginning, and having had several skirmishes and wars with the pre-existing spacial expansions and their allies, they finally layed out some friendly terms and agreements with them and peace was restored between them and the rest of the interstellar community. Regardless of the fact that a part of the story revolves around this fact, it will remain an Ordo story. I will next explain this prologue being entirely set on an Alliance Navy ship. This is the draft of the story I created in my mind. At one point I tried to keep it restricted to a couple viewpoints - that is, the main protagonist and the main antagonist - but I realized that a story of its scope requires much more depth than simplicity would ever give me. With any good story, an important component is a bit of multi-faceted storytelling, and therefore the prologue opens up with a couple of viewpoints from the Alliance Navy as well, as they are the main victim of the antagonist's actions. That is all I can say without spoiling a great deal of the story. Without further adieu, I give you the prologue to The Conscious.
  15. I should note that not all attackers fighting us will know that their weapons have impulse rounds in them, and that we might not be able to spot them, so the first one will be difficult to regulate. But all in all it seems that these might help cut down new-age phantom rounds.
  16. Project X284A TOP SECRET Clearance required: Angel/0A Throne/6G Domination/5F Investiation Status: Ongoing Agents Filing: FA-02, GT-75, LS-62, ER-05 Facility / Medium: Laboratory G38, Titan Summary: Findings by this scouting team were more than conclusive. Up until recently we have been using drones. This process was tedious and yielded few results. Scouting team members (Henceforth referenced: "Wraith") entered the condemned laboratory via utilization of X-T-GHOST. Malformation to blast door was minimal and remained in place, as usual. Wraith entered project G38 technology "Portal" device after determining the safety of such a transfer and proceeded into alternate dimension. Returned after gathering findings. Details of Investigation: Wraith team exited G38 Portal in the exact location entered, only in separate space. Complex was in the same state as our dimension, with the bodies of science team members in the same locations, only they seem to be in different assortments of species than our own research teams. Exited facility via blast door, with utilization of X-T-GHOST. Blast door malformation was minimal. State of area outside Dimension 2 (Henceforth referenced: "D-2") G38 Facility is similar to Dimension 1 (Henceforth referenced: "D-1"). Oxygen present. Wraith Team removed respirators and activated RAPTOR-7 Cloaking devices and proceeded five miles south-east to the 34ID Titan Outpost D-2, which was occupied and in similar state to 34ID Titan Outpost D-1. Findings were disturbing. Wraith Team explored the outpost and procured copies of documents detailing command structure of Ordo Imperialis D-2. o) [The Imperator]: Nanao Mahfouz o) [The Praetorian Guard]: Eye Korobase (Praefectus) Eye Korobase's Mother Matt Damon A Little Girl Another Little Girl o) [The Frumentarii]: Externus Primus: Doctor Dick Internus Primus: Wilford Brimley Frumentarii Validus: Doctor Steel (Have fun!;D) o) [Officium Curia]: Curia Consul: Anshe Chung (Might as well be.) Curia Consul Assistant: A Headcrab o) [Terra]: Legates: Bruno Ziskey Centurion: Lordbob Boa o) [Astra]: Legates: Diablos Korobase Centurion: Jesus Christ (Inactive due to computer problems, will return in 2012.) o) [Janitorum]: Head Custodian: Aryte Vesperia Also among collected data was information on enemy military groups: 1942 Leader: Christoph Naumova Co-Lead: Ethan Schuman Technology: Equipment stolen from the video game Battlefield 1942. Weapons are inferior and therefore do not concern the Ordo Imperialis D-2. Sparta Leader: Keno Pontopiddan Co-Leader: Another little girl. Technology: Well designed, well scripted weaponry. Other info: The largest and most competent military on the Grid. A member of the Iron Symphony. Additionally, individuals who appear in one form in D-1 look either slightly or entirely different in D-2. Examples: Keystone Gray D-2 is a dragon, Keller Teichmann D-2 is female, Intus Infinity D-2 is not a trap, Karlhockey Forte D-2 is human, Lestat Umarov D-2 is a prostitute, Lurdan Huszar D-2 is a flamboyant furry who spends most of his time in the Straight Yiffy Club, Takkun Gray D-2 likes Ordo and hates the Merczateers, and Kytec Switchblade D-2 is a homeless bum who begs for money out in front of Titan Industries. It is particularly noteworthy to add that a select few of these second dimension versions of these individuals may be intentionally invading our dimension and posing as their D-1 versions of themselves, but not necessarily all of them. Recommend warning Ordo Imperialis D-1 of this fact. On this note, most furries in D-2 are straight, as opposed to most being gay. Most humans in D-2 are inversely and openly homosexual, and highly repressed. Wraith Team member FA-02 experimented with this factor by setting a human on fire publicly in D-2 and was not punished for such, and was actually rewarded and prided for "purging the heresy that is yaff." Wraith Team would like to formally request psychiatric review and mental conditioning, potentially mind wipes, to be added to the official debrief for mission X284A-P9. Dear god, what the FUCK did we just step out of? END REPORT
  17. Gulliver, I've always admired and appreciated your love of animals. I'm glad that you hold onto that despite your aging. ;) Good luck with training her!
  18. Every day. I keep largely up to date on current issues and events in Ordo, and the forums are a large part in that. I can't imagine what this military would be without this website, and I wish everyone used it. I wish the same for Ventrilo too, but quite a few people refuse to use it, for various reasons.
  19. Haha. It's not that hard. I have spurts of building periods where I'll just start pouring out effort and churn out two to four, maybe five guns and maybe a few other things, and then I'll go stagnant for a short while. Shouldn't take more than three or four months to finish all of these. I do, however, want to finish my Modern Military weapons first.
  20. Why I play Spy? I play it for: The thrill. The adrenaline. The deceit. The acting. The complexity. The havoc. ----- The sound of your balisong flipping open. Tricking the enemy into thinking you're one of them for over a minute, and then betraying them all in the span of a second. Stabbing a Sniper who thinks he's badass. Making said Sniper ragequit because you ruined his killing spree... and kept it ruined. Seeing Engineers curse your name in open chat. Hearing a friend on the enemy team informing you that the entire team is raging about "that damned spy"... even if they're winning the match. Weaving in and out of members of the enemy team, dodging them in a ballet fashion, uncloaking, then turning around and stabbing them all. Making your mark on the enemy team, then retreating while being fired at, escaping unscathed. Scaring the enemy, watching them check behind them every five seconds... but ironically, getting them from above like a ninja. Making half of the enemy team switch to Pyro... and still kicking their asses. Standing on a rock somewhere cloaked, laughing maniacally as you watch said enemy Pyros running in circles everywhere spamming their flamethrowers. Catching some poor sap of a Pyro offguard when you show him that the revolver is not, as most people believe, "useless". And lastly, but definitely not least... That satisfying crunch of digging a knife into someone's spine. ----- It's ironic. In Second Life, I'm a gentleman. In TF2, I'm a maniac. Why do you play your class?
  21. I'm up late almost every night. I'll check at around 2 AM and direct people towards them if they're understaffed.
  22. Ah! Noted! Thanks, I was curious.
  23. Yep! Apparently Dark was told by an agent of Anonymous that they would not submit to becoming his private army. So what does he do? Why, of course! CREATE HIS PRIVATE ARMY.
