  1. You also gave me permission a while ago too! The Ordo attack wolf. With no fitted armor, but I most certainly have teefs! I've used 'em before. They damage. :|
  2. ------------------------------- -------- About TWL -------- ------------------------------- Team Warfare League is a standard ladder-based competition league. They have a hand in most competitive games, examples of which are currently played by quite a few members in the Ordo on a near-daily basis. As such, I believe it's time to jump-start another attempt at getting a competitive team off the ground. We've got the member base, and the numbers of game owners, to start a Left4Dead team. There is no numerical limit to how many can join the team. However, keep in mind that if we get many more competitors on our team than expected, you will not be able to attend every match. You do not need to register on the website yet. But, if interested in gaining a head-start, please go to the TWL website and register an account. Please keep your registration name the same as or close to your Second Life name, to make it easy for me to keep track of you all. You should be able to view the "The Ordo Imperialis" team by accessing the webpage below: http://www.teamwarfare.com/viewteam.asp?te...Ordo+Imperialis You may receive the join password from me once you have applied in this thread to join and have given me the name of your TWL account. Bear in mind that, before you compete, you will need to supply your SteamID on your TWL profile. I can help you get your SteamID if requested. In addition, TWL league rules dictate that you are required to wear a clan tag when competing. Info on this is in the next section. ------------------------------ -------- Clan Tags -------- ------------------------------ Your Steam name will have to conform to the following format while in a competitive stance: ORDO-A00 - Firstname For example: ORDO-K37 - Keystone These are formatted as first letter of your first name, followed by two numbers of your choice. They may not intercede any chosen numbers by any other member of the league, meaning there can be no duplicate service numbers. Names are not required to be this format when not competing or not practicing, but you may retain the name outside of Ordo-related league activities. Why this style? It's meant as our identifying "clan tag", which is why you may wear it outside of a league match or practice. It's also meant to let those we play against know that we are professionals with a place in the organization we've built, which we are. It's also a unifier to us in its own right, as we'll hold a "uniform" ingame. Yes, I did steal the serial tag idea from Halo. No, you can't sue me. :P --------------------------------- ----- Rules & Customs ----- --------------------------------- We will practice. We will play often, and we will play against each other. Before we get our feet wet and join the ladder, I want every participant to be sharpened and as ready as possible. Registration for the league is not required to practice with us, but if you intend to compete, you will need to apply here first before joining the league on TWL. Finally, Ordo rank will have no bearing on your authority in the competition team. The authority held in the group is that held by the team captains, chosen at my own discretion. Regardless of this fact, you may lose privileges in the league if behavior issues arise within your Ordo career. Competition is representation, and misrepresentation of our name, image, and/or honor will result in a disqualification for competition. Standard public relations rules apply, as do the IS Doctrine "Golden" and "Respect" rules. TWL also has a hand in giving us rules to follow; you are expected to read them. Trash talk will not be tolerated, and I -will- outright remove members from the team if it occurs. I will actively assist TWL administrators in investigations if valid concerns of behavior arise. In short: if it is not nice, do not say it. It's safer to not say anything at all unless "gg handshaking" at the end of a match. Given the level of maturity held by Ordo Imperialis members, I have high faith that these rules set forth will be followed without incident. However, these things must be made clear as I have had experiences in the past, while moderating a TWL team, in which team members have cost our team some ladder ranks for misbehavior. Most teams on TWL are no-bullshit, no-nonsense. We can have fun while practicing, and especially when competing, but keep in mind that these matches will be serious, they will be vicious, they will be bloodthirsty, and they will be efficiently carried out. We'll be newbies on the scene, and thus we'll be looked upon with scrutiny. Make Ordo proud while carrying our banner. ------------------------------ ---- Getting Involved ---- ------------------------------ To apply here, please post in this thread with the name you wish to play under (In the format "ORDO-A00 - Abcdefg"), followed by any comments or questions you might have. You will be required to have a working microphone and Ventrilo access in order to compete, but are welcome to practices without either. Regards, Keystone Gray ORDO-TWL Head Team Captain -------------------------------------- Number of team members: 4 Registered: CAPTAIN Keystone Gray ORDO:K37 - Keystone --- Kazuhiro Schnyder ORDO:K35 - Kazu --- WolfJoya Furse ORDO:W01 - Puppy --- Blaze Wiles ORDO:S53 - Blaze
  3. I'll come out and say that I admire your standing up for a friend, Wasaac, but keep in mind that people treat their friends differently than people they don't need to respect. While Bruno may be kind and compassionate to you, for instance, take a step back and evaluate how he treats Ordo and Mercz. We're more than forthright in a public stance, giving him concessions and allowing him to have certain rules while disputing others that seem unreasonable. Yet despite our wanting to make amends and compromise, he creates arbitrary decisions. He does not want to compromise. Compromise is the main key aspect that resolves any political engagements with the best possible results. That said, don't be disheartened; you have opinions and the opinions you voiced were well-intentioned. I will not pin your argument towards your detriment. All we ask in situations like this is to observe the many facets of controversial opinions. We're disgruntled after years of begrudgingly trying to work things out with Bruno. [storytime] Over a year ago I was engaged in combat with Sparta while in the Merczateers. The base was lightly staffed, and utilizing breaching charges, Lurdan and Anthony had managed to get deep into the Sparta base. They teleported me, and the Spartan defenders didn't know we were there until it was too late, and an entire Merczateer hit squad was pretty much in the throne room at the heart of the facility. The battle raged on for quite a while, and got very vicious when reinforcements from off-base Spartans and some AN arrived. Naturally, Bruno caught wind of it and logged in. I was an E-4 at the time, figured that the combat would intensify even more after he showed up, and we were hoping that he'd resolve the issues of Spartan defenders setting homepoints in our hardpoints to cheat. Instead, he banned Lurdan for even suggesting that Spartan soldiers would put their homepoints in illegitimate locations, even though that was exactly what was happening. With shortsightedness, he basically destroyed an amazingly fun battle and ruined it for us. Anthony was still there, so we decided we were going to push onward. We had fun for a short while... until one by one, every Merczateer beside me started disappearing. The reason? Were we cheating? Were we breaking rules? Were we doing anything wrong? No. The given reason was that we had breached into their base interior, which for some reason was allowed and encouraged in the hub rules, yet the double standard came down on the Merczateers, as our winning was somehow breaking an invisible, unwritten code. I TP'd out in time to avoid getting banned, but damn, I was pretty frustrated. Why? Because I was having a fun time, and it was ruined due to someone raging at losing. His soldiers were having fun - a few of them were talking to me through a wall midway through the battle and we tossed a few jokes at each other, in good spirit. One was still homepoint whoring, but we put someone on him with a handsaw. All-in-all, we kicked ass, they kicked ass, it was a wonderful fight. The bans ruined it. [/storytime] Judging on that experience alone, I'm more than perfectly at ease saying that Bruno doesn't care about fairness in this community. That is only one example out of many, many more that others here can offer. Again though, while the community in Sparta may be tight, and people may be close friends still, it doesn't negate the behavior shown outwardly. That is why we are incensed, and that is why we are angered by Sparta's actions. There are no inhibitions around his anger and spite. Most evidently of such is his obsession with making Delila look like a whore. The only people I can think of ever approving of such actions are either locked up in an insane asylum, or in UU's high command. Or both.
  4. It's a step in the right direction, people. I'd rather not repel their ban lines with ban lines for the rest of the existence of our community. When relations begin, so does negotiation. As long as we abide by these rules, there is a great chance that we can whittle them down to meet our future expectations. Getting up in arms and saying "screw diplomacy" is not going to help us get on better terms with them. History proves that yes, they're harsh bastards and extremely strict, but we should at least give them the benefit of the doubt after having not fought them for so long. According to Ethan (yes, Ethan), Bruno seems different and more mature. Give them a chance, please? If we're good about it, they'll be good about it (supposedly). I find their restrictions to be very fair, or as fair as they can be when compared to other, smaller groups in the community. They even allow air combat. But prejudging on things that happened almost or over a year ago is an inadequate way of looking at something as fluid as a military in SL. As someone once said to me recently, "Two months on the Internet is like a year in real time". Things change, and they change fast. All it takes is a good face and a bit of diplomacy. We'll ease right into it like a perfect fit into a shoe if all goes according to plan. If we go in angry, things will get heated. Trust me on this.
  5. PKT, AKA M-86. ... I hate this gun so much. Thanks BF2.
  6. Keystone Gray

    Welp

I was really looking forward to seeing you. :(
  7. Bye, Zero. I'm sorry Ordo can't give you everything you need. Thank you for your consideration though. I've really appreciated it.
  8. As previously discussed, I'll go with you guys. I appreciate the offer; thank you very much. I'm willing to help with room costs.
  9. I have too. Roo is the gayest straight guy ever. And it's amazing.
  10. ... Anyone? If I can't find a place to stay, I am not going. I won't be able to go. At all.
  11. "I have yet to meet man who can withstand vibrator."
  12. "Fuck off, Scout, or you'll find these on the Internet!"
  13. SHAAAAARK. Congratulations. Well earned and a long time coming. :3
  14. To add: We are a family here. You are a member of that family, and a condition of any family is to contribute and to have patience. To contribute without compromise only creates frustration in everyone involved, and to compromise without contributing patience only creates frustration and anger for yourself. We're a very tight group, but a very large one as well. It is difficult to keep tabs on everyone's concerns, and we as officers know this. But we can not help you if you do not come to us and voice your qualms. The very first priority of our job is to ensure your comfort. Yours. Before ours. If you misunderstand or disagree with something, please inform us. Go to the nearest officers in your chains of command and lay everything before them. We will do our best to explain any decisions or occurrences, or at the very least to take your concerns under consideration for future reference. We will never look down upon you for having a simple disagreement with a judicial decision, political move, or even equipment policy. Do not be afraid to approach us. Even if we can not accommodate every single person's issue, we can at least offer our comfort.
  15. He's such a sneaky, arrogant bastard. <3 "And now he's here to fuck US." And I've watched this at least ten times. This video gave me the desire to start playing TF2 again. xD I'm a die-hard Spy player. I'm just sort of sad now, because now I won't be one of very few backstabbing sons of bitches, and it's kind of hard to hide when everyone's paranoid as hell. Of course, then it simply becomes a mere art of turning that paranoia against your enemy. And yes, that is indeed possible. When the HD version of this comes out, I'm going to make a few wallpapers of it. :D The fact that it's been leaked only adds more to the humor behind it. It means that someone in Valve, undoubtedly, is a spy!
  16. Second Life: Also known as MS Paint 3000.
  17. Given recent events, I find it no more fitting to describe what we're becoming: A hot contrast to what we once were. This is something that has been pinging around in my head for the better part of the last week, something that I've been wanting dearly to voice to everyone, lest anyone has not realized it yet. The beautiful thing about being in a Metaverse as tangible as Second Life is that our world is what we make it. We can create things that no one else can destroy or take from us, and personalize our existences within this alternate world. Some view Second Life as a game, and that's entirely okay. For others, it's another form of expression. On that note, I'd say it's a perfect form of personal expression. Not just any expression, either; it is fluid, a work of art. It is inspired, and always changing. By extension, Ordo is our world as well. It is all of these things, and as such it is very personal to all of us. We all work very hard to ensure that our world is to our liking. Take a step back and look at the grand picture, and you'll realize that we're not just a bunch of people somehow perfectly working together. There is order and there is structure and, among all of that, there is purpose. Over the last six months, Ordo has gone through a complete revolution of goals and ideals. Losing Chronus (Our former R&D / Practice sim) to Linden Lab's void price increase was a grand wake-up call to us all. Ordo needed to expand and reform, or Titan could have been next. This led very quickly to our restructuring of Titan Industries. With a whole new staffing of support, and new additions to development, Titan Industries eventually began work on multiple projects. So far, the following have entered the Titan Industries line: The AXE M4, the USP, the M3, the Bolter, the MP5-N, and the AK5, with at least six or seven other weapons in development. We very recently broke our records for sales when the MP5-N was released. Our money problems have entirely dissipated between our losing Chronus and today. We're in a good surplus, our development is booming, and we've never been doing better. Among other things, we've essentially evolved Navis away. It has become an appendage of Ordo's history that, regrettably, is not needed. But its existence was far from a total loss. Through its last moments it gave birth to what is now the extension of Astra's airpower: The tactical bomber role. And now, with only two divisions to pick from instead of three, there is no longer any confusion surrounding the choice of career; it is now streamlined into "Air, or Ground". And of course, admissions have been restructured and made more efficient. Our cadets are gaining more knowledge in a more practical manner with the Schola restructure; there are projects in the works geared towards academies to qualify both NCOs and officers. We've thinned the herd and cleaned out any trace of major drama within our ranks. We're at an all-time high, a record, for membership. We're preparing, and are prepared for, the major influx of people into the community around summertime. Our developers, too, are constantly and tirelessly at work. New guns, new armor, new tools, new vehicles, new bases, new scripts; there is no end nor limit to what Ordo can create and achieve, no end visible on the horizon, and no end to our capacity to lead the way in technological innovations. We are not the same group we were six months ago. Would you say it was a complete revolution, and a total conversion for the better?
  18. http://www.teamfortress.com/sniperupdate/ The Huntsman - Hunter bow with bolts that pin the intended target against a wall. No known downside (I'm probably going to guess no scope). The Razorback - A tribal shield with a car battery taped to it. Electrocutes spies who backstab him. Slows the Sniper down. No more known details (they were intentionally vague).
  19. If anything, it'd be someone just creating a wild goose chase for themselves. "OH SHI--- WATCH OUT FOR THESE GUYS, DEY HAS COMBAT MEDALZ" isn't going to save them from getting owned. xD
  20. I place all of my awards into my profile as well. It's a wise practice, because when officials look into your profile, they're looking for these things. I have done so myself on multiple occasions to help myself decide who deserves which reward come meeting day, and to see if they already have it. (BECAUSE SUBORDINATES WHO GET REWARDS ARE EXCEPTIONAL, AND EXCEPTIONAL PEOPLE HAVE DONE MANY EXCEPTIONAL THINGS :D). I'd recommend everyone do it, but it's not a mandatory thing. Just make sure you don't lie in there, because you can get in trouble for it. ;)
