  1. You can examine the script time of objects by themselves to figure out where your script time is coming from too. The following are some approximate script times. (averaged where possible, just to give a basic idea... may change under some conditions.) Ordo SCAR-L: 0.016 average when drawn (not including sling) Ordo utility HUD: 0.06 average (it's up and down a lot, had to tally for an average) Ordo Defero unit: 0.005 average (with no com chatter) Fairlight pistol: 0.05 average for one pistol when drawn. (Holster averages 0.008) Fairlight viper: 0.05 average each when drawn. (Has no holsters.) Titan M468: 0.05 average (I don't have the P90 so maybe this is similar?) Zhao2 (idle): 0.014 average when standing. (much higher when moving.) Keep in mind some things will have big script time spikes under certain conditions too, for example anything with a channel 0 listen.
  2. It doesn't need to be extended... intentional teamkills are a no-no, whether by gunfire, grenades, melee, praeda headbutts, pools of death or otherwise. Accidents happen but there should be no fooling around with team-killing of any kind. Save it for authorized training exercises. Side note: if you know you're going to go afk, it's best to do it in the hangar or some other safe location.
  3. Zero Effect (The best detective mystery comedy drama romance movie ever. Must-see IMO.) They Live (The less you know about it before you see it, the better.) Big Trouble in Little China (Kinda mainstream but fun and classic.)
  4. That is indeed the case, and some of your Ordo gear shouldn't actually work on Aditi anyway.
  5. In the next SL server patch, avatars will show up on the top scripts list, so it will be easy to find the culprits. Please check your gear and sort it out before then. Basically you should be wearing as little scripted gear as possible. Most products in SL are made by people who have no idea how to script, so don't be surprised if something small like a cigarette or a pair of boots have a higher script time than our limit all by themselves. As the Imperator said, multitools, scanners, and combat HUDs should not be used, and here is why: Mystitool (for just one example) has 0.1 script time when PASSIVE, and its script time only goes up from there. Ordo gear should cover all your combat needs, and if it doesn't then we need to make low-lag alternatives.
  6. Simply providing such material for free doesn't make it "fair use". There is some judgment involved and it's actually quite complicated, but let me assure you that merging a song and some video clips and throwing it up on Youtube doesn't qualify. It's not a grand conspiracy but it's very easily misunderstood and this is why lawyers make the big bucks. In short: you may use parts (not all) of an item under copyright for non-profit *educational* purposes or for certain forms of review. You may also use part of an item under copyright to create something new, provided that the new work is NOT simply derivative. For example if a snowmeow copyrights his image and you create a parody drawing of him, that's fair use of his image to create something entirely new. If you make an anime music video and use a song that's under copyright, that's not fair use, whether it's provided free or not. If you rip a texture out of a game and apply it to a gun you create in SL, that's not fair use either. If it goes to court there will be a hard lesson. Keep in mind that judgment on borderline stuff almost always leans toward the copyright holder, so some stuff you might assume is okay will actually not be okay. It's not really about money or corporate pull... copyright law exists to protect creators and discourage reuse, so when in doubt the creator wins.
  7. No, you guys get a Flashy Thing and a pair of sunglasses, nothing more.
  8. Except cooking dinner... then it's cool if someone else does it and bad if I do.
  9. This is good practice, and goes double for guns that spit out actual prim casings, which cause far more physics load than the bullets themselves. Just FYI since I assume the OP is referring to it, the Assault Cannon I sell uses particle casings with an extremely low lag script... like the SCAR-L's muzzleflash, there's not really a measurable difference in script time or TD, and no physics load. However, the bullet hit effects should be turned off... please use normal damage bullets.
  10. What most people don't know is that for every one thing I make that becomes Ordo-issue, I've experimented with 5 other things that just have no place in our arsenal. Most of my issued gear has been at the specific request of a division or squad... the rest often doesn't make it past the concept phase for one reason or another. So the main question to ask yourself is, "why do we NEED it?" If there's not an immediate good answer to that, then there's a good chance it might not clear the other rules and become Ordo issue. This doesn't mean your gear sucks, or that your time is wasted, but there just might not be a good place for it among the issued gear. Don't be too disappointed, it happens.
  11. I'm sleepy. At first I thought this said "pop tart" and I was like WHAT. A waffle prefers pop tarts? This is confusing and possibly criminal.
  12. Xavier Cheng still isn't on the main list but he's confirmed to still be in Chaos. Also add "ta Mills". Group is hidden but he had armor on and tag up.
  13. It's complicated because Microsoft doesn't want you to do this... they want you to plug it straight into your network with DHCP. There is unfortunately no simple way to explain it because it's not simple... however once you do have it set up there are a lot of 3rd-party programs you can get to do some cool things, if you're the type who likes messing with that.
  14. If you're OIC, you can treat them as neutral but you're under no obligation to do so... standard rules pretty much. If you treat them as neutral I recommend you watch them more closely than most neutrals. Be advised that they DO have invisible weapons (including a megaprim laser) and "for the lulz" is their only rule.
  15. Just let them know the gun is not up to our weapon standards and not allowed. Give them a chance to remove it but don't let them waste your time arguing... one of their crew already has been banned for some poorly chosen words of disagreement.
  16. Also: since the Elite Jetpack has just replaced the gravpack, be warned that our issued jetpack is actually slightly more powerful than my retail jetpack, particularly the forward thrust. If top performance is your priority, then it's best to stick with the issued pack.
  17. That's an imposter. Gunau won't be able to open his eyes far enough to read for the next 2 days.
  18. On that side topic, if you see Gunau AV flying again, ask him pretty please to stop. Especially during combat. We don't look very good when we breach our own combat rules.
  19. ^ This. Ordo-issued vehicles should be used when authorized by the OIC. No other vehicles should be used in Titan including cars, vans, helicopters, hoverboards, scooters, missiles, etc. The exception has been only during casual days when the sim is closed and everyone is messing around. If we're open for business, don't drive your vehicles. As per Sosarin's format, tl;dr version: Please drive your cars somewhere else.
  20. Most confusing transposition ever.
  21. Did what where? I didn't get any report? Also I think they're Timmahy's scripts, so at least the holster would have to be entirely rescripted because I don't think he's going to repair it. Or is there another Syl now too? This could get confusing.
  22. This applies anywhere. Do not leave your builds out when you're not working on them... not in Ratin, Titan, or anywhere else. I've had a crazy stalker steal my builds from 1400m up in my home sim.
  23. Hacking the door to enter the outpost is kind of a hostile action. Please do warn them against hacking the doors if you see them trying to do so. If you tell them to stop hacking or to leave the outpost and they don't, that's intentionally entering a restricted area without authorization and not complying with an order from Ordo personnel. Even as a enlisted you have the ability to ask civilians to comply with our rules.
