  1. Hey everyone :D So lately I've been looking for an excuse to spend some time on SL, but I've been really tired of my uchicat avatar; it is adorable and all but in all honesty it doesn't really look like a lion. I happened to come across one that did though, the smilodon avatar. I paid a staff member from the store that I bought it at (who will remain nameless out of respect) to retexture the head and ears for me... and well, the finished result was less than satisfying. It had lost all detail and doesn't look good at all in my opinion. Default texture Paid retexture Now I might not be up-to-date with current Ordo members, but our group tends to draw in some of the most talented people in SL so I figured it would be good to ask here: Can anyone do better? I'd be willing to pay $10 (negotiable if this is too low) for a quality reskin... but I'm unsure who to talk to. What is a lionboi to do? :o Edit: Within 5 minutes of posting this, someone offered to help. I love you guys <3
  2. We spoke about it already, but personally I think the idea of a pool of instructors that can teach everything is a pretty good idea in theory. Whether or not the workload would be too much though... I'm unsure.
  3. I don't fight. I'm a pacifist.
  4. Merry X-mas Krowpants! It's so great to hear from ya again. We miss yoooou. :3

  6. I have no idea whether or not I'll be there. It depends on what happens at the start of this year. I'm pretty much 100% sure I'm taking a semester off school. The current plan is to move near Philly with Zero (and a couple of friends that I trust enough to live with) and get a jerb to make some moneys. Should I have said moneys, conventions will be attended.
  7. I vaguely remember following this a few years ago. Seems like it has made a lot of progress since then. I might try it after finals. :)
  8. I am interested as well. The database is a pretty big job and I think I could be of some help! :3
  9. THEY ALWAYS COME BACK.

  10. You did indeed meet me around that time, but not in SL. We met in WoW. :3 Also, I had to confirm with Aryte that you weren't an alt of Dagger. Then he was all like "Invite powers pew pew".
  11. S'okay. The money I was going to spend on Modern Warfare 2 was spent on L4D2. Not only did I get the game for nearly half the price ($35 for my part of a 4 pack instead of $60), but I'm getting a game that will be a fun multiplayer experience. If IW decides to cave and patch in the features that PC gamers expect, maybe, just MAYBE I will consider purchasing the game again.
  12. ~ORDO IMPERIALIS~ OFFICIAL DOCUMENT <=====================Extend to this length=========================> <===========================================================> **********Meeting Report********** NAME/RANK/DIVISION: E.Ashbourne/E-3/Terra B-II ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ DATE: 10NOV09 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ SUBJECT: Terra Meeting ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ SUMMARY: [18:04] Aryte Vesperia: The point and purpose is simply to have a q/a session for the new Terra set up, to provide folks a chance to ask questions. ============================================================ CHAT LOG: [18:03] Aryte Vesperia: All right. [18:03] Aryte Vesperia: Let's get started. [18:03] Aryte Vesperia: Thank you all for coming this evening. [18:03] Aryte Vesperia: We'll keep this short. [18:04] Aryte Vesperia: The point and purpose is simply to have a q/a session for the new Terra set up, to provide folks a chance to ask questions. To begin, I assume you've all read the new structure on the forums? [18:04] Aryte Vesperia: http://forums.ordoimperialis.com/index.php?/topic/5710-ordo-terra-rosterrealignment-08nov09/ [18:05] Rendy Miles nods [18:05] Aryte Vesperia: Okay, one out of thirty. [18:05] Aryte Vesperia: Not bad. [18:06] Corsi Mousehold: Yes SIr [18:06] Aryte Vesperia: Hahaha. [18:06] Corsi Mousehold: Okay Two. [18:06] Eriksson Foxtrot: Yes sir, I have read it. Hah. [18:06] Aryte Vesperia: I'll assume you're all just being shy. [18:06] Anlysia Gregoire: I'M SO EMBARASSED TO TALK IN FRONT OF PEOPLE [18:06] Corsi Mousehold: I was actually pulling it up on my other monitor for reference. [18:06] Aryte Vesperia: A couple points I want to clarify on before we get into the questions portion. [18:06] Lupus Mielziner: yes i readed and unserstand it only sunk in notcards an ims .. [18:07] Aryte Vesperia: The three "cohors" A, B, and C. [18:08] Aryte Vesperia: Essentially . . if this was the US Army, A would be the Rangers, B would be the standards, and C would be the reserves. That's not to say the B or C units aren't perfectly capable of whoopass. A units focus heavily on squad tactics and deploying AS a squad. [18:09] Aryte Vesperia: If the time arises that there is simply too many people trying to get into an A unit and all of the A units are full, I will either increase the size of the units, or include an additional A unit. [18:09] Aryte Vesperia: I know a big question that's coming up is "ok, so who gets tanks and stuff?" [18:09] Aryte Vesperia: Everyone will be eligible for tanks and stuff. [18:10] Corsi Mousehold giggles. [18:10] Aryte Vesperia: The difference is, Antesig, the unit designed specifically for armor, are the vanguard/tip of the spear for armored combat. [18:10] Aryte Vesperia: Whereas other units can still get their hands on it (when it's done!). [18:11] Aryte Vesperia: Having said that, let's talk restructure. [18:11] Aryte Vesperia: In the thread, there is essentially a massive breakdown on expectations for the command elements of the unit. [18:12] Aryte Vesperia: The wonderful part is . . those expectations can be delegated out. [18:12] Aryte Vesperia: Thus, more jobs. [18:13] Aryte Vesperia: The downside to this restructure is it actually expects that people be somewhat, well, free-thinking and appoint positions/delegate jobs out. [18:13] Aryte Vesperia: Which is great in the case of a progressive, active administrator. Not so much great when someone is confused and going "wut i do?" [18:14] Aryte Vesperia: As you can see, in contrast to the last "set up," Terra Cohors have command staff-- http://forums.ordoimperialis.com/index.php?/topic/1134-ordo-terra-roster-08nov09/ [18:14] zanndor Aeon: GUIES [18:15] Aryte Vesperia: For example, Gulliver, leader of Cohors A, has an XO an Adjutant who are responsible for all of the Cohors A centuries. [18:15] FireFox Breed: http://firefoxinc.net/ordo/images/chart15.png [18:15] Aryte Vesperia: Thank you. [18:16] Aryte Vesperia: Sooo. Questions? [18:16] Corsi Mousehold Raises her hand. [18:16] Aryte Vesperia: Mm yeees? [18:17] Corsi Mousehold: Sir Will our team Lead be able to set up his own structure within our Century? [18:18] Aryte Vesperia: Tooo some degree. [18:18] Aryte Vesperia: For example. [18:18] Corsi Mousehold: And I have something else I would like to ask on this as well. [18:18] Aryte Vesperia: [COHORS B; CENTURY 1] - Victrix [18:18] Aryte Vesperia: You are in . . [18:18] Corsi Mousehold: Yes sir. [18:18] Aryte Vesperia: Garion Lowenhardt is your overall century commander. He is allowed to appoint additional staff--such as command NCOs, who would be responsible for elements of that century. [18:19] Aryte Vesperia: For example, he could make Joe the Sergeant responsible for names starting with A through K. [18:19] Aryte Vesperia: And Manuel the Sergeant responsible for names starting with L to Z. [18:19] Aryte Vesperia: Thus creating informal subunits/fireteams. [18:20] Aryte Vesperia: And yes? [18:21] Dempster Duncker raises hand. [18:21] Corsi Mousehold: Actually more a suggestion than a question sir. Perhaps encouraging the Century COmmanders to get special raids approved for their centuries to promote teamwork within the Century. [18:21] Aryte Vesperia: (Corsi's second question, then Dempster.) [18:22] Corsi Mousehold: Would that be possible? [18:22] Aryte Vesperia: That's always an avenue, yep. [18:22] Aryte Vesperia: That's always an avenue, yep. [18:22] Corsi Mousehold makes a note to prod her commander for that. [18:23] Aryte Vesperia: Dempy? [18:23] Dempster Duncker: Rolling back to an earlier point, when you said that everyone would have access to heavy armor, did you mean all of Cohors A, or did you mean the entirety of Ordo? [18:24] Aryte Vesperia: All of Ordo. [18:24] Aryte Vesperia: Well. TERRA. [18:24] Corsi Mousehold 's eyes light up. [18:25] Aryte Vesperia: When the armor is complete (essentially is--by the way), we will determine how and who is capable of grabbing armor and under what circumstances can be used. [18:26] Dempster Duncker: Awesome :3 Nothing else. [18:26] Aryte Vesperia: :D [18:26] Aryte Vesperia: Next question? [18:27] Anlysia Gregoire: Do I get to test the Aequitas or are you still deathly afraid of it? :P [18:27] Aryte Vesperia: .. [18:27] Aryte Vesperia: Terra related? [18:27] Anlysia Gregoire: Well it was armour related! [18:27] Hunter Abrams raises a hand [18:27] Aryte Vesperia: Hunter. [18:28] Hunter Abrams: I have been confused as to what COHOR I actually belong to since im in two COHORs. DO I belong to COHOR A? or COHOR B or both? [18:29] Aryte Vesperia: That's an error. [18:29] Hunter Abrams: ah [18:29] Aryte Vesperia: You were in B before being assigned as staff for A. [18:29] Aryte Vesperia: I'll fix that. [18:29] Hunter Abrams: ok [18:29] Aryte Vesperia: Firefoxshouldhavebuthe'sfat. [18:29] Aryte Vesperia: So as a general consensus, how does everyone feel about the new alignment? Speak freely. [18:29] Aryte Vesperia: You won't be whipped for your opinions. [18:30] Corsi Mousehold: Personally I like. Gives everyone a place and gives a goal. I know where I want to be eventually. [18:30] Anlysia Gregoire: I'd tell you what I told FireFox, but, I've already used up my one stupid comment for this meeting so we'll just go with "It's shiny." [18:30] Katsuhito Tal: Looks nifty and intresting just needs to be updated a little whith current people's transfers, like mine to Antesignani for example >_> [18:31] Eriksson Foxtrot: I definatly like it, and I concurr with Corsi, it gives everyone a place and goal. [18:31] Aryte Vesperia: How recent was that, Katsu? [18:31] Katsuhito Tal: Yesterday :p [18:32] Corsi Mousehold: Though I think that Cohors B Centuries should be able to section themselves down in a squad structure to train for Cohors A station possibility. [18:32] Aryte Vesperia: Ooh, that'd be good. [18:32] Aryte Vesperia: (Fixed, Katsu.) [18:32] Katsuhito Tal: (( W00t )) [18:32] Aryte Vesperia: More! Speak on up. [18:33] FireFox Breed: http://forums.ordoimperialis.com/index.php?/topic/5729-terra-sop-binder/ [18:33] Corsi Mousehold: Thinking. [18:34] Aryte Vesperia: I mean. Is it easy to understand? [18:34] Dempster Duncker: Cohors C, reserves, is a good move. It gives people room to breathe without having someone jumping down their armor to be more active, yet still be able to be a part of something. I know of a few people, personally who have left the Ordo simply because they can't devote the time. [18:34] Aryte Vesperia: :D [18:34] Katsuhito Tal: Sure makes it easier to know where you are now [18:35] Corsi Mousehold: Pretty simple. A little too simple? Thus why I made the suggestions I did. [18:35] Preston Smythe: if its not simple ppl will be like lol where i go? like he said [18:36] Corsi Mousehold: Seeing Ordo as like a Batallion(sp) You have Companies. (Cohors) and then Platoons (Centuries) Well even in the Platoons they have squads. [18:37] FireFox Breed nods [18:37] Rendy Miles: i think its a Good idea and the Structure looks good. i just hope that the Cohor CO A,B,C dont get overloaded at some point as to keep up to date wich each Cohor members. as from now they have more heads to looks after. [18:38] Rendy Miles: sorry not A just B, C [18:39] Corsi Mousehold: Then in that case it could fall under the Cohors commander to keep up their Century Structures. And then the Centure commander to report of changes. [18:39] Corsi Mousehold: If a tight line of communication is kept ... Shouldn't be terribly hard. It's called Deligation of Authority. [18:40] Aryte Vesperia: The beauty of it, Rendy, is it is modular. We can simply add more with a couple lines of text and cordial handshakes "welcome to your new job!" [18:41] Rendy Miles: well with that said, i think it still is a more understandable Structure and easy to place [18:42] Corsi Mousehold: From the looks of it it's harder to do a Raid report than it is to take note of who is where in what division. [18:42] Dempster Duncker: We've just moved away from cohors being segmented into companies and squads. I believe the new structure lessens the load of work on the actual current authority, so they actually have time to deal with other things and enjoy their time on SL, rather than dealing with paperwork and assignment of soldiers :s [18:42] Aryte Vesperia: What we experienced with the "old" system is this: [18:43] Aryte Vesperia: Century commanders were redundant-- octet leads did all the major stuff. [18:43] Aryte Vesperia: Sooo we arranged it that everyone's doing something important (presumably--or waiting to get fired if they're not). [18:45] Eriksson Foxtrot: May I just make a suggestion? May perhaps be slightly off-topic here though. [18:45] Aryte Vesperia: Of course. [18:46] Eriksson Foxtrot: I thought it would be convienient for most of us; Is it possible that we can have Grid-Wide Handset Radio's so we can constantly keep in touch - no matter where in Second Life we are? Yeah sure, we have Group IMs for -emergencies- but how about an all-around status update, with brief report of who is currently attacking (if any). [18:46] Rendy Miles: we have one actually [18:46] Eriksson Foxtrot: Ahh? [18:46] Aryte Vesperia: Firefox made a modular version that you can add to the HUD. [18:46] Dragon Massiel: vent? [18:46] Rendy Miles: the Ordo comm [18:46] Keller Teichmann: Ordo Gridwide Comm [18:46] Aryte Vesperia: It's a secondary comm that has that very capability. [18:47] Eriksson Foxtrot: Ahh, I actually didn't know that. Something I'll have to experiment with later. [18:47] Aryte Vesperia: It'll . . someday be intergrated into the HUD. [18:47] FireFox Breed: currently now you can drop the script right into the beta hud we are using now [18:48] FireFox Breed: i gave the maker of it the script full perm so she could put it in [18:49] Aryte Vesperia: She'll get stuck inside one day and do it. [18:49] Eriksson Foxtrot: Excellent! I look forward to seeing it in action soon! [18:50] Dragon Massiel: yep [18:50] Aryte Vesperia: So any other concerns/questions? [18:51] Aryte Vesperia: Ookkaaay zhen. [18:51] Aryte Vesperia: You are hereby free to return to your . . whatever it is you're doing. [18:51] Aryte Vesperia: Thanks. :D [18:51] Aryte Vesperia clasps his fist to his chest, presenting a salute.
  13. Clearly the only option is to start your own thread! :3 And omg hai kellar. r u a feesh?

  16. I'd volunteer! You taught me how to break things before, but I never really got to. Which reminds me, I should do that for TI before I volunteer here.
