  1. If you do post, do so tactfully and respectfully. Attacking Bruno on a personal level is unnacceptable in a forum as public as the NJWJ, stick to respectful opinions on military matters.
  2. It's amazing how nice SL looks when it's shrunk to the size on a youtube video and a nice computer pushes it to a good fps. Coolio shootin'.
  3. Well, if you ever do want to pop on to SL without your graphics card going nutty, I might suggest (if you're on Vista) running SL on compatibility mode for XP. A bit gentler on graphics cards.
  4. Wasaac, as the one who did the actual negotiation for this outcome, I feel it is perfectly within my right and the rights of anyone who wishes to read what they will into the implications of Bruno's terms as well as how Bruno's own actions reflect upon his character. Bruno's decision to only allow former Spartan members to lead assaults is, in my opinion, an extension of Bruno's long history of mistrust and unfairness. We accept these terms because we rise above what amounts to petty insecurities. The "grudging and grievances" various members have with Sparta are arguably legitimate. However, we do like to make a point of not allowing personal feelings and unsubstantiated fears to dicate our foriegn policy, which is, in my opinion, more than I could say about Bruno's own interactions insofar as diplomacy is concerned. We have and will continue to tolerate those such as Bruno for the sake of the military community as a whole; what hinders the military community is not grievances with other organizations and individuals but rather the childish way in which many choose to act upon these feelings and opinions. In the public arena, we generally attempt to remain respectful and tactful. However, within the confines of our own forums, the expression of opinion and debate on matters of maturity and fairness is something I find integral to ensuring we see the faults of others (and ourselves) in order to learn to avoid them. There are those who find enjoyment in making light of the matter through comedy, as well as those who voice legitimate opinions as to Bruno's and Sparta's faults. To tell either to silence themselves is to voice a wish to turn a blind eye towards something which causes real harm to the military community. And in terms of the apparent need for you and Jaxx to "vouch" for the Ordo on assaults, I would like to echo the sentiments of Cyphre. We are one of the most reputable organizations on the grid; Bruno puts no such restriction on any other military. We have levied countless assaults against a broad spectrum of enemies with little incident. However Bruno wishes to rationalize his own tilted policies, the fact remains that Bruno continues to demand respect often without showing it to many in the community in a very public and concrete manner. You are in no position to act condescendingly towards your fellow Ordo members. You speak about how some of our views towards Bruno and Sparta is in your eyes insulting; however, I hope you're not oblivious to the disrespect you have shown towards your fellow comrades in your own comments. To sum up my overall sentiments, I consider action to be more important than opinion. Speak all you want about our expressed opinions on our forums and in the public discourse, but in a very concrete sense we have shown Bruno complete respect and fair treatment though our actions. I will stop passing judgement when he does the same.
  5. Duran Duran quote in profile = +5 Awesomeness Points

  6. Man, I pity the guy who's going to deal with your crazy antics as an octet commander! Oh wait... FFFFFFFUUUUUUUU
  7. Yeah was just thinking about that. There are, of course, some issues like hiding online status when someone else has your key.
  8. As of yesterday, after negotiations Bruno has decided to lift the ban on Ordo personnel in Second Chance for combat activity. This means we get to fight Sparta again, both on their turf and ours! \o/ Naturally, Bruno being Bruno, demanded the condition that Ordo forces invading Second Chance must be "led by Jaxx Loon or Wasaac Haxx". While this will certainly limit the time windows during which we can attack Sparta, what's more important is that we are sure to give Bruno no reason to ban us again once we re-initiate combat with Sparta. In order to ensure that we are as vigilant as possible in following Sparta's myriad of "unique" rules, I have compiled a list below of rules to which special attention should be paid when assaulting Second Chance, as per Bruno's own rules... - Do not breach anything that is not a red door. - To enter the core room, the large armored door must be destroyed by firing at it. This door has a displayed health meter, and cannot be breached. - The barracks, offices, and throne room are off limits. They set their homes here, and spawn killing is a bannable offense in Second Chance. - No aircraft-on-infantry strafing, except in 100% clear self defense. Basically, if you're flying, unless you have screenshots or hit logs to prove beyond any doubt that infantry fired upon you, you cannot fire upon infantry. - No "swarming", which means the attacker/defender ratio can never exceed 2:1. My personal suggestion would be to maintain a list of all Spartans on base when the attack begins, so that they cannot simply withdraw men to limit our numbers. - STABLE rules apply for all equipment, though I do believe all of our gear is compliant. - Avatar Render Cost cannot exceed 5000. - Extra Rules (for Ordo), assault must be led by Jaxx Loon or Wasaac Haxx (former members of Sparta) There are rules beyond this, but these are the rules which I feel face the most risk of being broken by accident or through ignorance. Just give Sparta no reason to ban us as has happened in the past.
  9. Very awesome! I really like your style, Tony. These are great!
  10. Good luck, you have your whole life ahead of you, and I'm sure you'll find this to be one of the most rewarding and important parts of your life. Hopefully the Air Cav can appreciate some hotpants here and there :P
  11. ^ Has played over 8000 hours of SL. Just one more thousand to go. < Doesn't want to know how many hours he's put into this game D: v Prefers vodka to scotch (or likes neither)
  12. ^ Is from Belgium, which makes him a friend of waffles ^_^ < Is going to be away the whole weekend and doesn't think he needs to make one of those "absence" threads v Lacks pants while posting on the forums
  13. Summarize who you are or your general attitude towards life/SL etc in a single song. Could be the lyrics, subject matter, or even just the general feel of the song. As for myself...
  14. Used to be a BK guy, but I've recently begun to favor the way of the clown.
  15. Looks like that'll open up combat a bit. Should be fun.
  16. I do believe we did one very much like this not long ago with Mercz and Ordo... Do crrect me if I'm mistaken. Should be fun though.
  17. I'm not going to spew blind criticisms against enemies or allies, but as you noted we are adults, not teenagers. The way I see it is that no one is above criticism, and it's fine to speak your opinion, so long as it's done in a mature and constructive fashion. Unfortunately it seems many individuals are incapable of doing so. Saying "Mercz suck" is a moronic thing to say, just as it would be moronic to say anything along those lines about any military on the grid in such an immature and unjustified manner. However, respect does not equate to blind praise, nor does it equate to silence. Saying things such as "I wish CATI would use guns with less bouncy bullets" or "CS's use of mines seems a bit overboard" is fine. Being tolerant of other ideologies does not mean one must never point out what one believes to be areas for improvement. In my opinion, it's moreover a casual disregard for restraint and lack of respect which turns healthy criticism into outright insult. As one recent example, I was in Badnarik last weekend chatting with Takkun. While Takkun has in the past openly expressed disapproval for the actions of Ordo (in both respectful and non-respectful manners), he handled a part of the conversation we had with what I see as a perfectly acceptable example of how to express opinion when it is not always positive. After showing him the "raid board" we use, he remarked that "I don't usually like what Ordo does, but that's cool." I'm fine with that. He's free to hold any opinion of Ordo and what we do, what's more important to me is the manner in which he expresses it. In this instance, he did so with tact, and I respect that. Not everyone has the maturity to always speak in this manner, and sometimes people should just keep their mouths shut. If you give an opinion in a clumsy or disrespectful manner, you're not just making yourself look bad, you're making everyone look bad. When you speak, you must always remember that in the eyes of others you speak for the Ordo. Act accordingly.
