Mechwarrior 4 mercenaries for free
Lanny Ansar replied to MikeMurdock McMillan's topic in Gaming Discussion
Agreed. All of the human-populated servers (All 2 of them) are on this setting, and also have the ECM / BAP combo, so they can just sit in a corner with two Heavy PPC's and Gauss Cannons to snipe anyone that pokes up within 800-1000 meters of them without being spotted themselves. Seriously, i've had Assault Mechs get 2-shotted by these guys and it's irritating. On the other hand, i do like the Campaign and the fact that i can strap on the old Clan Wolf logos to my mech again. Also, kill-stealing. Wtf. -
EA / DICE tried Vietnam already with Battlefield Vietnam. 4 CD's and 8 gigs later, it failed and was instantly sent to the clearance rack and forgotten.

If that someone is me, then i'm not COMPLETELY inactive. I still pop up to chill out and prevent the spread of Heresy across our barren and Desolate Fortress.

You're talking about the same assholes who still charge $15 a month to play Planetside, simply because it's the last man standing in the MMOFPS franchise. They also still charge like $10 for SWG, so... Hey Sony, i'mma let you finish, but Turbine's got the best F2P and Launcher System OF ALL TIME.

xD I figured 2142 would be an exception. To be honest, Battlefield 2142 has pretty much become a worthless game. They still use PunkBuster for fuck's sake.

Doesn't have any icons, but this is my current desktop wallpaper.

Well, here it goes. Hi guys. I'm Lanny. Currently an E-3 in Astra, still working on Armatura and finding time to log on so i can smash through my training. I was previously in Terra B-II, before i had realized one day after a large-scale battle involving some aircraft and armor, that Astra was rather short on Pilots. So i pulled a few strings, and made a bit of a swap. I enlisted sometime around May of this year, because i had seen that a buddy of mine from some past CCS and Osiris Sims was hangin' around on Titan, and had the Ordo Imperialis picks on his profile. I asked some questions, he told me to pop over for a visit (Probably got some scowls then because of my giant assortment of MTG gear and my Breach SCAR on my chest), and after a while, i decided to pop in an app, along with two people vouching for me. (I won't give out names unless those two decide they wanna hop up and post here.) Around this time was the giant Scandal with Aryte getting bogus lindens handed to him and LL handing him a temporary boot, so for a couple of weeks, i was stuck as a cadet. Schola was pretty sweet, since i got through all but maybe 1 or 2 classes in about a day (Thanks to Drasamax and Corsi, i believe.) and was officially suited up and ready to go in time for Aryte to return. I've had quite a bit of fun so-far in my time at Ordo. You all over vent can be pretty rediculous at times, and some of the offenses and defenses have been a blast. (I admit, some tend to piss me off due to asshole sim tricks and obsessive lag, but hey, that's SL.) Some background info: Before the Ordo, i used to hang around ALOT at a few places. Mainly it involved CCS sims, with maybe one OSIRIS sim. It was there that i had learned quite a bit about SL combat, how physics work, etc etc. I was also taught how to fight in CCS there, and had gotten to a point to where i was capable of outlasting level 40-ish avatars as a level 15 in the system. It was also there that i met a specific Lycan that had just got into town. After a while, i had begun to teach him a wee bit about SL gunfighting, although he was a bit...sluggish. I could always beat him down, whether he had a Handgun, or an MGL. It's probably the reason why he had also vouched for me when he mostly abandoned that av and made his newer "Legit" av for Ordo. He also introduced me to Huttser, back when we all hung around at Jigsaw Lands. Live Fire Schola test: was amazing. Most likely because i had managed to get Ron on my team, which turned out to be a dramatic tactical advantage. I had also learned that day that the term "Tactical combat" did not apply with the LL damage system, so i've begun to adapt to my old "Quake III Arena" style of combat. Although i do recall getting a compliment from Ron that day about my use of Cover and making it really tough to peg me behind sandbags. Oxerall, you guys are awesome. I may be like a freakin' Unicorn in the Human / Furry ratio, but i still feel as if i fit in with the group. (P.S, don't those tails make it easier for people to shoot at you? >_>)

Quote from my old STO fleet's forums: "Hey, do you guys think there will be PvP in Hello Kitty Online?" And then, in Regional Chat in LOTRO...Don't mind the no-names. I don't remember them. "Damnit, i hate noob farmers. I can't get wood anywhere." Me: "I feel bad for ya, bro. I can get wood any day of the week." And then a sea of lolololol.

I'm in a T-28. All of its parts are upgraded to max, and i'm currently working on points for the KV. I scare the crap out of the Heavies because they don't expect my dinky little Medium to be able to punch through their armor (But i totally do.) I figured out that my best tactic is to play conservatively. 99.9% of my bumrush attempts and charges have lead to epic failz with no kills. But when i hang back behind the main force's push and snipe from the bushes and trees, the team just wins. Unless it's this Past Thursday, when me and some other random Medium tank boxed in a Tiger II and i got the kill. THAT was fun.

Your Type is INTP -Strength of the preferences % 22-12-62-33 Architects need not be thought of as only interested in drawing blueprints for buildings or roads or bridges. They are the master designers of all kinds of theoretical systems, including school curricula, corporate strategies, and new technologies. For Architects, the world exists primarily to be analyzed, understood, explained - and re-designed. External reality in itself is unimportant, little more than raw material to be organized into structural models. What is important for Architects is that they grasp fundamental principles and natural laws, and that their designs are elegant, that is, efficient and coherent. Architects are rare - maybe one percent of the population - and show the greatest precision in thought and speech of all the types. They tend to see distinctions and inconsistencies instantaneously, and can detect contradictions no matter when or where they were made. It is difficult for an Architect to listen to nonsense, even in a casual conversation, without pointing out the speaker's error. And in any serious discussion or debate Architects are devastating, their skill in framing arguments giving them an enormous advantage. Architects regard all discussions as a search for understanding, and believe their function is to eliminate inconsistencies, which can make communication with them an uncomfortable experience for many. Ruthless pragmatists about ideas, and insatiably curious, Architects are driven to find the most efficient means to their ends, and they will learn in any manner and degree they can. They will listen to amateurs if their ideas are useful, and will ignore the experts if theirs are not. Authority derived from office, credential, or celebrity does not impress them. Architects are interested only in what make sense, and thus only statements that are consistent and coherent carry any weight with them. Architects often seem difficult to know. They are inclined to be shy except with close friends, and their reserve is difficult to penetrate. Able to concentrate better than any other type, they prefer to work quietly at their computers or drafting tables, and often alone. Architects also become obsessed with analysis, and this can seem to shut others out. Once caught up in a thought process, Architects close off and persevere until they comprehend the issue in all its complexity. Architects prize intelligence, and with their grand desire to grasp the structure of the universe, they can seem arrogant and may show impatience with others who have less ability, or who are less driven. Albert Einstein as the iconic Rational is an Architect. Dr. David Keirsey, Robert Rosen, George Soros, Gregory Peck, James Madison, Ludwig Boltzman, Charles Darwin, Adam Smith, and Thomas Jefferson are other examples of the Architect Rational. That's funny, because this is mostly true. I do my best work by myself, secluded from others, and if someone has a great idea, then i will encourage it, even if they're just a mere rookie.

Underbarrel shotgun. >_> Here's the thing...when i hear of an "Assault Pack", something besides a pack of gear comes to me in my head. I see Engineer packs, boost packs, etc... as support classes and roles, where Assault would fit in as the frontline equipment option, therefore my options appear to be weapon-based. I had an idea come to my brain as i was on my way home on Tuesday. What if the assault pack instead, was an Armored Suit, with a built-in HP system (Much like a Tank, but with FAR less HP, and is instead an outfit instead of an attachment.) Not entirely a mech, seeing as those are giant vehicle-based units. I'm speaking of an individual Power suit that one can wear as an outfit, with a slight boost to HP (I'm thinking to script it at either 10-15, or 25 health), along with a decent weapon attachment that wasn't overly spammy, but could still provide supportive and suppressive fire. In exchange, its hitbox would be slightly larger (Well, larger than a normal av's), therefore making it a bit easier to hit. (The larger hitbox could be an alternative measure instead of having to script every piece of the suit with an HP meter). This thought occured to me because a buddy and i were discussing stuff about Planetside earlier that day, and i remembered a Powered suit that you could train in for Multi-role stuff (Anti-vehicle, Anti-Infantry, and Anti-air).

ASUS EAH 4850 top here. ATI based card. Only issues i get are either with my internet or in sims with an excess of 20-40 people in it.

Sounds like i'mma need to read LL"s Terms of Service to its entirety sometime...what i've read is just plain rediculous. Most people who pull this slanderous bullshit in other games and places get kicked out or banned. (Wait, hmm. Would it be Libel or Slander, since all of this is technically written? >_>)

>_> When i get accepted into my Community College here, i'll be able to purchase Windows 7 Professional for $30. College Student Discount here.

Kinda sounds like your motherboard ate a dick. Which isn't too bad nowadays, because there are some really nice motherboards on the market that won't cost you both arms and a pancreas.

I would suggest for the markers, instead of the Smoke, to use a type of IR beacon that can be placed or attached. That way, the Astra / Aircraft pilots can go up in the air (With maybe a set HUD, to see the beacons) and be able to see between friends, foes, and objective targets. I used to recall having a HUD setup for infantry that had an IR feature, where it would turn the environment into that fuzzy gray, and Avatars / Avatar based vehicles would glow, while buidings and such didn't.

"I am Arthur, King of the Britains." "Who are the Britains?" "We all are. We are all Britains." "Well i didn't vote for ya."

Yeah, that does get very annoying at times. But it also gives an example of a thought: When, in any war-time situation involving armor, has there been a battle that was entirely balanced? The system mixes it up most likely to give that sort of feeling. So one match you'll be the head honcho and steamroll, and the other you'll have to hide and use shoot-n-move sniper tactics to survive. I actually managed to get some last-man-standing moments with me and my T-28 against a team with 2+ Tigers and Tiger II's and Artillery. Just takes planning. Also, i've learned a bit of a trick. AP rounds from smaller guns don't punch through heavy tanks at all. So the other option is the HE ammo. It doesn't penetrate as well, but instead it's capable of knocking the tracks off of mostly any tank. Hence why Artillery gunners use it alot, because a direct Arty hit with HE's will demolish both tracks with no hassles.

That's the -somewhat- tradeoff between the USSR and German armor. The German stuff is very heavily armored, with average firepower. The USSR's stuff have great guns on 'em, but they're basically made of paper until you begin to get into the higher Medium and Heavy Tanks. >_> Seriously, i get outlasted by Enemy Panzer III's simply because their rear armor fuckin' competes with my entire tank. 15mm's of plate is nothing.

3D Graphics. Hmm. Haven't heard much about 3ds MAX. But from what i know, a solid majority of the things i ever see that come into the light are mostly produced out of Maya, which is a Mac-only program. Otherwise, on the gaming side, you should be able to run next to anything on at least medium to high settings. Congrats man. Wish i had 2-grand or above to get some nifty shit for my partsbox. She needs a new case and better cooling.

Liking the setup there. Seems a bit overkill for SL, but with the PC material that's being released at the moment, you shouldn't need a solid upgrade for specs for at least another 5 years. Personal thumbs-up on the Razer products as well. I personally run the Razer Carcharias Headset and the Diamondback 3G Gaming Mouse. Gives me 6 extra buttons that i never use. P.S, Razer has an Ergonomic Gaming Mouse named the Razer Imperator. :D

That's the thing with the old Self-propelled Artillery from the WWII era. The gun itself doesn't move very much at all. In order to traverse a cannon on it, the entire tank itself needs to move. So i would likely assume that any of the Self-proppeled stuff with faster turn rates and speeds would be preferably handy. Also, I haven't noticed much of a difference in the reload speeds between cannons. Probably because those rely entirely on a Loader, so i'd say that bumping those skills up from the Crew's side would help.

Des: The best tactic for the light / paper thin stuff is to either outrun the target (If your Turret can swivel really quickly, you can actually run circles around shit and keep a bead on 'em. I've seen it happen.) Either that or to flank around things and use bushes and trees to hide and pick things off. Head-on charges usually lead to asspoundings.
-
I would suggest a type of "Heavy Infantry"pack. Types of grenades maybe, or a heavy Grenadier Rifle with an underslung launcher. Maybe some dirt-basic Rocket Launchers as well, like an AT-4. Just to make it into a Standard Heavy Assault Role.
-
Des - The research is in a tiered setup. You start out getting your basic tanks and stuff, and add points into those tanks on their specific tree. Once they're researched, you can go and buy them from your equipment slots under the image of your tank. Usually there's a bit of a pre-requisite before you can upgrade to the next line of tank. Ex: I'm going for the USSR Heavy Tanks. So i had to go for T-26's and move down to T-46's and so-on. But i had to get the upgraded gun and some other shit in order to unlock the column for T-46 research. I've had a personal liking for the old World-War era Soviet Tanks, along with my Dad. (He's an old M60 Tank crewman.) We always loved how dirt-simple they were. Seriously, the interior of a T-34 is nearly empty. It barely has seats.
