Anlysia Gregoire
Ran into someone in spawn today, not a hostile, who was wearing a pair of pistols that actually sat approximately 4-5m from his hands, way beneath the ground...they were still attached, and alpha showed them, but they were underground so you couldn't see them.Apparently according to Rendy, they will automatically move into your hands when drawn. The weapon was the "XV-7 Scorpion".There was some chat in Com about this, and the suggestion was made that we should consider avatars wearing even holsters to be armed, as the weapons may be simply hidden from the body some distance away...these ones were only a short distance, but who's to say someone may not have guns attached 10m away at some point?Unfortunately I didn't get a screenshot, but Phillip and Rendy can confirm. Cygna
That's actually rather clever.
Anlysia Gregoire
Honestly, the only reason I even CAUGHT the weapons is because his AO moved his hand in a way that made it wave around in the air for a brief moment and I went "WTF is that...?" like it was a weird bird attachment or something, like Agares' Servo Skull that floats around him. It's pretty devious. Rendy Miles
The VX-7 includes a wide range of ammunition types, including bullets, traps, attacks orbit, and alot more other Bullets wich are banned from military sims... the Weapon should be removed at sight of Holster because there hard to see the Guns are attach to the left and right hand. But when holstered they are still in hand 10 meters away from sight also in alpha mode there are hard t be seen Cuz there far location. At draw they auto locate back to the hands. The VX-7 even features tracking ammo, which will seek a target even through solid objects. This is a Part of there article or Manual:The SMART (Strategic Math-Adjusted Reflex Targeting) aim assist uses local data to determine who you're aiming at and applies a corrective aim-assist algorithm to ensure that your aim is true (even when it's not). With dual modes (normal damage and combat system), your VX-7s provide the most advanced battlefield assistance in any environment. The Guns apart of having a large selection of bullets they are not to be used and to be romoved at sight. they have a aim assistnce that will track the Avatar at aim and perfect to shot to be a a almost perfect shot, in other word the Bullets track the avatar by using the HUD included also called "smart tracking". Cyphre Iredell
There was some chat in Com about this, and the suggestion was made that we should consider avatars wearing even holsters to be armed,We already do. :welcome:
Syl Kiranov
We already do. :welcome:Yes, we generally consider holstered weapons to count as armed. However you don't need the holsters to draw most guns anyway, and there are plenty of "invisible" guns, or you can put gun scripts in your hair, etc. We've seen several cases of invisible guns/disguised guns in Titan already. So you won't always catch all of them, and I'm personally a little cautious with any fishy character even if they appear to be unarmed. Luckily it only did 50% damage (...tool...) so she put a bullet through his head like 0.001 seconds after he fired.
Scientific Waffle
Yeah, another slightly more difficult trick I've seen before is having all of the prims of a gun "fold" into the arm when it's holstered, instead of just going alpha. Hunter Abrams
lol neat trick. I have always considerd those with holsterd weapons to be armed. Because I don't know if its the actual gun or not. Edited January 23, 2009 by Hunter Abrams
Sera Otoro
as interesting it may seem... there is a slight problem... lets say we are in the outpost... and someone had a similar functioning gun was on an upper floor... anyone below may see floating guns... which might spark a few rumors of the outpost being haunted... haha... Cheeso Szydlowska
One time I was attacking this SL military with a HUD based weapon, for great lulz. Also, I vote we simply kill everyone who enters the sim, no exceptions. Except maybe for Ordo personnel, a few of those guys should get a break.
