Diablos Korobase Posted March 18, 2009 Share Posted March 18, 2009 I'm sure everyone is aware of the Humvee's in the garage section in the South entrance of the base.But what some may not be aware of is the fact that they seem to be unusable to anyone, well anyone not in whatever group they are set to.So I'd like to know just what group they are set to and if they are a usable vehicle or just there for an effect and taking up prims?The reason I ask this is I have My own version of the Humvee in desert colours that can be used by anyone and am more than happy to hand them out to anyone should they be allowed to be used.I would also like to add that this afternoon I did use My own and was told to stop by Agares like I was breaking some kind of rule.After all I am Terra and since the Jeep is usually an Army vehicle I don't see why I shouldn't be allowed to use it.After all Astra have their planes and Navis have their fleetships so why doesn't Terra have Jeeps pr in this case Humvee's? This is why people don't casually launch air assets whatsoever, and most certainly why it is normally disallowed for anyone to simply use vehicles at their leisure on Titan. Not only is frivolous use of ordo vehicles frowned upon, use of non ordo issued gear on titan is flat out against the rules. Jeep-type vehicles are useless in SL combat because they are big targets that get stuck easily or perform unrealistically, causing more drama than the benefit they would give to the community. Sera Otoro Posted March 18, 2009 Share Posted March 18, 2009 i have never really seen the benefits of using humvees... perhaps if SL was like an actual FPS game where a humvee would provide a little protection and would actually drive properly, then it could be usable... but since SL isnt like that, i see no point in them at all... Deal with it.There are vehicles approved for the Terra Ranks which can be used whenver and that I believe is the Velox. And if you want to fly that around you need OIC approval. The Humvees I don't think are even scripted to drive and considering we have over 9000 prims available (not the meme) I don't think 60 prims is an issue. Diablos Korobase Posted March 18, 2009 Author Share Posted March 18, 2009 Firstly the UK and Europe are separate, we are only connected by the Channel Tunnel, besides its My right to look on them as separate so You deal with it and if You don't like it thats Your problem cause I'm not going to stop saying it.Secondly the issue with them being there and not being able to be used it pointless whether we have over 9K in prims or not and the reason its pointless is cause they are being rezzed un-necessarily, every prim thats un-necessarily is and issue whether You think it is or not.As for doing something to kill the bordem, if You were around during the early hours of SL You'd know just how boring it can be with nothing to do, but since as usual Your all against this its pointless Me wasting My time to make You understand. Diablos Korobase Posted March 18, 2009 Author Share Posted March 18, 2009 Yeah we do Gulliver, its at the South entrance to the base.As for the Humvee's being driven around the sim like Lest said, before we can do that we firstly need to workout which Ordo tag allows You to use them as I've tried with the Main one and I've tried with the Terra one and neither of them allowed Me to use them hence the reason I decided to drive around the one I have which is exactly the same as the one in the garage just in a different colour. A few unused vehicles isn't really a problem, and a featured base makes the opponents and allies more envious of what we do. They don't have to be used to have a point, really. Since these things have been up for a month. The only thing they do is make the sim look nicer on a military level. As for rezing vehicles... No matter who you are or division you are to always ask permission from the OIC to rez one for training or for combat. Boredom is not a good excuse. Desereck Creeggan Posted March 18, 2009 Share Posted March 18, 2009 The ordo humvees you see there ARE Ordo Issue, because I got one (it was a party gift a while back.) and they just look good sitting there.They are Owner only and they drive like a /b/tard (freebie script that is also in that desert humvee) and are only used to goof around in.
