Then feel free to share why. This can be live-action, Anime, Animated.Shaun of the Dead: British made movie that makes fun of zombie films, filmed by the same director that made Snatch. Excellent comedy and british humorHot Fuzz: Movie that makes fun of most Action/Cop movies, also made by the same director and actors from Shaun of the Dead.Snatch: Helarious movie about a stolen diamond and how it comes to effect the lives of every character in the film. Same drector as Shaun of the dead and Hot FuzzEarthian: Interesting Anime depicting Angels as an incredibly technological race that watches over humans like a science experiment. Perfect Blue: Older anime movie about an idol and her plight in career changes and fanatics. Quite the psychological thriller; written and directed as a movie rather than a traditional anime. Dub is surprisingly better in some parts than the original voice acting.3. Orange County: College acceptance goes awry. Colin Hanks (Tom Hanks son) gets his transcript misplaced with a stoner's (administrative mixup). Ex-gold-digging mother, off-the-wall brother (Jack Black), among others who are seemingly unable to help him. Hilarity ensues!4. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind: Vivid tale of the dream-like world of the mind and its memories. A story of love that can never be truly broken through medical science. Amazingly yet minimalist piano scores by Jon Brion (plus Beck's rendition of Everybody's Gotta Learn Sometime), and another great dramatic performance by Jim Carrey among others. THOSE BRILLIANT ASSHOLES."Battleship Potemkin - One of the first great propaganda films. Totally silent, but still, it doesn't need sound to make it's point. IT'S AWESOME BABY.Kung Fu Hustle - omg I want to join the Axe Gang.Shaolin Soccer - Also made by the guy who made Kung Fu Hustle (Stephen Chow). Absolutely hilarious.Andrei Tarkovsky's Stalker: Based on the short novel "Roadside Picnic", which with the movie serves as the basis for STALKER: Shadow of Cherynobyl and it's sequel. Asks questions of human nature, faith, and moral dilemmas without providing any answers, it's set against a strange and haunting wilderness punctuated by industrial remains. Tarkovsky's cinematography and pacing is so perfect and memorable. I'd say it's one of the greatest films ever.The Fountain - Can't even begin to describe it. The visual impact coupled with a brilliant score, and a powerful story left me awed.Fritz Lang's Metropolis - If you haven't seen this film in it's restored condition with the intended score, you've missed out on one of the greatest films in history. Do not even dignify the horribly butchered "gothic" version, spend the cash, if you're going to buy it, on the best restoration you can find.Seven Samurai - You're a fucking philistine if you haven't seen this film. Brilliant story, and innovative in it's presentation of action and dramatic elements, it also serves as a harsh commentary on pre and post-war Japan and it's cultural perceptions.The Thief and the Cobbler - Possibly the greatest animated film you've never heard of nor seen, it's been left in an incomplete state for a very long time. Entirely hand drawn, and absent much of the intended dialog, it's still very impressive. Seek out and view the most complete version you can. You won't regret it.On a side note:The Two Worst Movies I've ever seen -Plan 9 from Outer Space - Ed Wood's Opus. The ultimate failure of a film, it uses hubcaps as ufo's, chiropractors as Bela Lugosi stand-ins, and impotently angry aliens. Also includes one of the worst opening "cautions" in history.This is generally agreed upon as the Worst Movie in the entirety of Human History. The only other real contender is Robot Monster, which I have yet to view.The Blackhole - Made by Disney in the late 70's, I was shown this in a middle school science class by our teacher.It was made truly terrible by the fact that my teacher insisted it was scientifically accurate in it's depiction of black holes. From there, toss in a hammy villain, would be rip-offs of Star Wars droids, and some of the least sensible acting, directing, and writing I've ever had the horrified fascination to witness, and you have the second worse film I've ever born witness too. I could only watch it in segments, because it was so horrible I could not stop laughing at points. Even Kriswell's contradictory opening segment nearly brings me to tears. I also had to watch Robot Monster, but I am of the opinion that Plan 9 is on a completely different level, so terrible that it becomes comedy. In fact, just about any of Ed Wood's movies could take the cake for 'worst film ever', only Plan 9 is the only one that's so bad it's funny. The rest are just awkward.I did see Stalker, based on Roadside Picnic, but it was not entirely what I expected. I think Shadow of Chernobyl kind of diluted it, at least in terms of story. Still an enjoyable watch however, excellent cinematography throughout.As for Equilibrium, that one I don't touch. I love-hate it, love it because of the story and action scenes, but hate it because, well, the actors were too good at showing no emotion.
