low-ish crime rate combined with fat 'suspects' ;p

Dallas is good, yes. Austin is also good, unless you cant stand the sight of hipsters. Corpus is good too, unless humidity is your nemesis.
-
I havent lived either, but we drove through it this year to go to the frio and it was definitely run-down in more places than not.

Dont listen to seb, SA is a craphole. :| It may be good to get a job, and good for passing through to see the alamo and some other historical shit, but its a dump.

^ There are plenty of suburb places you can get a high-paying job (McKinney, a suburb area I grew up in) and really only have to worry about traffic, teen angst, and maybe some domestic calls. Shootings are rare as shit. Corpus isnt bad, though I hate being that far east. Texas heat + gulf = humidity and allergies.

Dont go to Houston. Its roadways look like they were designed by a drunk. Its humid as Ffff, Its relatively "ghetto" Dallas is good, fairly moderate, lots of money. The surrounding area is where I live now, its good I just grew up here so Im looking for more. and Austin is -amazing- however its a bit more liberal than you may like. I dont mind it, it creates a great atmosphere and has a booming tech sector with a lot of TI jobs shifting into the state. Its where I want to move for the developer jobs. Overall Texas is cheaper to live in, a red state so guns are not a huge hassle to own or obtain, its easier to own a house with a yard without paying your entire salary. Texas is an amazing place to live in if you dont mind the weather (though you are from AZ so Im sure its not that big of a deal for you :P) Texas and its major cities are one of the few left in the country still constantly building and growing. Make sure you are applying in major cities, that way you have the option of living in the suburbs around it if you enjoy that kinda thing. Lots of soccer moms, gyms, starbucks, fancy cars, ect. :p Otherwise you get stuck in rural areas, lots of farmland / land in general in Texas so you wanna make sure not to get stuck in low population area.

updated that WIP post above xoza if you update your flag, or at least get me a higher resolution version id like to hang it on the cubicle wall somewhere in there :D

yeah, gradient or wrinkles or something. Its just super flat as is which is weird with the more detailed embroidery.
-
a bit flat on the red. the mini-text is a bit distracting. Design wise, i think its nice.

WIP, doing a a little bit of 2d training every day to help with my texture work and pen control. Maybe an hour into it?

Ive never had an issue ever, then again I only use apple products for my non-desktop/laptop devices. Iphones -can- slow down if you have too many apps running, its an easy fix with a double-click of the home button (only button) and then closing the open apps. Though with the 4s (and presumably 5) i dont see much loss of memory even with all of them open.

android users like to talk up the phone a lot more than it deserves in my opinion. Ive used both and prefer the iphone by far. "but you cant customize and blah blah blah" well, you can if you jailbreak but honestly I just simply have no interest in it. it does everything (but flash ;p) that the androids do and it can do everything that I need. I dont have any "BS" to put up with, I dont have to worry about having anti-virus on my phone, I can use it all day without it dieing even though it only promotes a 8hr battery life of browsing, I dont ever have dropped calls or any technical issues. TBH, they are just phones. Android is higher maintenance with higher customization but I already have my computer for that and theres nothing I cant do on my iphone that I could on my android that I would need on the handfull of hours im away from the house at any time I would need to use it. RE: maps and stuff You can get google maps back on your iphone if you want, youtube app too, the only difference is the standard at-purchase options arent google and right now kinda wonky. But that doesnt really matter to me because I just threw it in the utilities folder and downloaded google maps and youtube on day one and now the only diff is they have different icons. There is no shortage of free apps and games, and on occasion when there is one I want to purchase I have no issue paying $1 to support a developer. TL;DR It doesnt matter, whichever you feel more comfortable operating is the one to go with. Ive used both and I prefer the lower maintenance and smoother UI of iphones.

Ive played plenty of mechwarrior, though I dont claim to be a huge fan. And your assessment of no "pay to win" isnt exactly on point. Especially since previous mechwarriors didnt exactly work on this platform with free and pay setups. Pay To Win - generally a free to play game with in-store options purchased with only real life $ that have improved stats / abilities. While these items are improved a skilled free player can still overcome them, its just added bonuses you must purchase with real $. Pay to Progress - A free to play game that all items are available to both free and paying players. Paying players just have the added bonus of not having to work for their unlocks or equipment, which if acquired freely could take substantial time. A free player could very well still win in competition, but games that set are set up to give paying players an edge are "pay to win" Look at PS2, a free to play game that is more "pay to progress" since the only $ only implants are resource and xp gains. Everything else is available to free players. Or... as you yourself said...

Not super interested in this one but I got beta access. I probably wont even download it because of how it looks like its being set up (IE Pay to win, instead of Pay for impatience) If you guys end up giving it good reviews I may sample it at least.

I know, Its really just a large file of max settings that has been compressed. Hence the square ratio. I was joking about the quality for obvious reasons.

US Consulate in Benghazi attacked - One dead.
Deadmon replied to Trinity Heckroth's topic in Offline
Lets not sully this with politics, its edging kinda close. Im sorry about losing a close friend Trin, from what all these articles are saying and what you say he was a really great guy. -
pfft. EA boycott is retarded. It does nothing but deny you games. Thats like all the people that boycott ubisoft because they try and prevent piracy which creates a MINOR inconvenience to players so they boycott ubi and then bitch forever about not being able to play Assassins Creed. Valve would never sell out tho, especially not to EA.

glad someone else noticed the generation kill references in hitman :P

This is why I propose standard formations, and standard move-out procedures. If we have a commander that can just assign people vehicles quickly and all he has to say is to form up standard tank column then each tank will fall in line and we can move out swiftly. Its more often than not that when everyone is just hopping in vehicles and lumping together that shit goes wrong. A well escorted galaxy can last several major encounters without being destroyed. My first PS2 experience was several mosquitos a lib and a galaxy hopping from spot to spot and just rolling through with impunity. Its possible if you have mosquito pilots that know what they are doing. Though I agree that an organized tank column can move from spot to spot with less overall resistance. The only downside is you lose a resupply / spawn point by not having a galaxy. Squad beacons have a long timer at default so it takes a few of them to be able to spawn on-demand. While I mostly agree with what you are saying, splitting off into squad sized groups to capture smaller stations is easy and helps everyone. Its more often than not that MOST forces coalesce around the major facilities and the supporting air towers around them. There are commonly forgotten spaces that can be captured by small crews on their way to join up with our main force. It was a standard practice in PS1 for squads/outfits to be assigned a smaller point adjacent to a major conflict to capture first, before bounding to the major point to re-group with our primary force. So there are times that we definitely need to be sending a single squad out to capture nearby stations for various reasons. An example would be capturing the crown before progressing to Zurvan (I think? might be Hvar next to it)

almost all the twitter admins have access to keys, they gave them out in a huge burst several weeks ago but its less frequent now. still worth a shot. IGN users -were- getting keys, im not sure if that is still happening.
-
optimal air squad would be a gal with lib and 3 mosquitos. At least 1 of those mosquitos with aa rockets. Lib can clear landing if need be / take out the aa cannons firing at galaxy while the 3 mosquitos provide air security with potential for hellfire support too. Thats just base though, obviously it can be switched up for more or less in any area depending on the hostiles you are encountering during ops.
